“Chris has done both dog walking, and dog sitting for us on multiple occasions. Each experience has always been extremely positive and professional! It has given us such peace of mind to know our sweet (and very anxious) boy is well taken care of while we are out of town. Chris is trustworthy, caring, and attentive. And our dog LOVES him!”

“We are so grateful for this team! They do such a wonderful job with our Batman who needs special attention and care. Thank you again! They go above and beyond and when you come home you can feel relaxed.”

“Jeena did such an amazing job watching my pup, Kingsley, while I was out of town for over 3 weeks. I had never left my dog for that length of time, so I needed someone really great to stay in my home with him & Jeena was the perfect person for the job. She sent me daily pics and updates, followed all of the instructions I left about him and even washed my sheets and fully cleaned my house before I arrived. I appreciate her help so much, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone very responsible and helpful to take care of their pet.”
“Nicki was great! She gave Sampson a lot of attention, she was on time and very reliable… and left my house as clean as when she arrived. We already booked her again.”

“Natalee did an amazing job caring for my boys. She did a great job keeping us updated and sent several fun pics of them. She took care of them like they were her own. I'm so happy I found someone that I can trust with my babies. She truly provided peace of mind for me. Natalee is now family, and I will definitely be using her services again.”

About: Over the past 20 years I’ve owned and cared for dogs (both puppies and elderly), cats, reptiles, rodents, and invertebrates. I’ve rescued a pup and trained a couple high energy dogs, one with a great deal of anxiety and fear aggression.I have experience cat sitting for various out of town owners over the years I currently go to school part time so my schedule is pretty flexible right now. I have a one year old pup who is very active and would love to make some new friends if the opportunity arises. I love to stay active, spend time outdoors, and meet new animal friends. Providing pet care is a job I was made for. Whether in my own home, or in a clients home, I can guarantee that your pet will get the care they are accustomed to. I am a detail oriented mother myself and understand the value of knowing your instructions will be followed and your babies will be safe.
“Hayden did a good job taking care of Jack while I was out of town. She was very attentive to his needs and made me feel comfortable. Communication was good.”

“Claire has been our best dog sitter to date- she did a wonderful job taking care of our dogs and house while we were out of town for a week. She communicated frequently and was very understanding of our complex dog set up. Would absolutely recommend her!”
“Sarah is super nice, good with our three pups. Our dogs were well cared for and lots of pictures and updates. We will definitely use Sarah’s services again.”

“Cara dog sat for our family in August 2024. This is the first time we have left our dog with a sitter outside the family. Cara went above and beyond with our boy. He got suddenly sick and she communicated and sent us photos of him and made a special diet. Cara acted fast and we quickly got him on the mend. We knew we were in good hands with our entire family being out of the country. Cara sent photos and videos almost every day. It helped keep us at ease knowing he was happy with her and well taken care of. Our house was left clean and tidy. Cara is a very practical down to earth girl that we would bring back in a heartbeat. She definitely an animal lover.❤️”

“Ashley was incredible! We needed help at the last minute as we were heading out of the country and Ashley happily stepped in and treated our pup like a queen.”

“Halle is fantastic!! She is a great communicator, professional, and prompt. I felt so comfortable leaving my pup in her care. We will continue to book her for our pups when she is available!! Highly recommend!”

“I recently hired Jeremy to help me with my Doberman and he did a fantastic job! He was super communicative and my girl thoroughly enjoyed her time with him. Highly recommend him!!”
“Katie was great and adapted to the fact that we had recently moved to a new home easily. She handled changes to the schedule with no problems and was able to work with our sometimes nervous pups!”
“"I cannot recommend highly enough! She took exceptional care of my dog, Maserati, while I was out of the country to Italy. We were not worried for his care one time. We were able to receive updates with photos, which gave me peace of mind. My dog was happy, healthy, and well-exercised when I returned. If you’re looking for a reliable and loving dog sitter, Sarah is by far best choice!"”

“Jennifer was great caring for our energetic one year old. She walked her and also took care of all her needs as she is still training a bit. Our house was well taken care of like we never left. Thanks Jen!”

“Marsha cared and entertained our exuberant 1 year 3 month old King Charles/ Irish Setter for 5 days. She noticed a stick he had chewed got caught in the roof of his mouth and removed it quickly. She took charge quickly and communicated about Murphy’ care daily and reassured us with short videos. Our cat also benefitted from her expert care. I heartily recommend Marsha for house sitting and am grateful she watched over Murphy and our cat Chase. Thank you, Marsha.”

“Erica was an awesome pet sitter! Our dog loved her and she took great care of him. She kept us updated on how he was doing, even through a tornado. Would definitely recommend!”

“Asia was very communicative throughout the weekend watching Josie! She asked questions in advance and wanted to know how to make my dog feel the most comfortable. I would definitely book her again in the future!”

“Gabrielle was just the right amount of communicative! She took great care of our dog while we were away and the house looked great. Would definitely book again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Marlborough
Alexandra watched my German Shepherd and senior cat while I was away for a float trip over the weekend. Even though she knew I would be in an area with limited cell reception, she took the time to send pictures and updates a few times a day so they’d arrive when I did have service. I could tell that my printed care instructions were followed because they were checked off and notes added where needed. Alexandra also went the extra mile and took the time to brush my cat, strip the bedding off the bed, and leave a written note before she left. Would highly recommend Alexandra as a petsitter!

I feel fortunate to have found Anya on Rover to dog sit my beloved beagle for a week while I was on vacation. She did a great job, and I appreciated her sending me updates during the week on how my dog was doing. If you’re looking for a dog sitter, I highly recommend Anya!

Janina is the best. Her communication is second to none, including consistent updates with photos so we know our pups are well taken care of. Our two pups can be slow to warm, including our 90-pound boy. But they both took to Janina right away. When our plans changed last minute, she was very accommodating and went above and beyond. Plus she left our home cleaner than when we left. She’s the first person we’ll be reaching out to the next time we need someone to care for our pups!

Thank you to Alicia for taking great care of our cats and backyard chickens while we were out of town! I knew they were in great hands and I really appreciated the updates and photos. You even won the trust of our shy cat, something that takes most people a while. Thank you again for all of your effort and care for our crew!

Lauren was excellent! She arrived on time and sent updates on our pups as well as mail/packages that arrived while we were gone. She took great care of our girl and boy. I think they were both more sad she was gone than they were happy we were back! She was accommodating when our return was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances as well! She left our home clean and went above and beyond with washing towels and bedding before we returned. 10 out of 10 recommend Lauren for sitting!

Chris was amazing! Great communication and some great pics of our pups enjoying their time with him. Our pups were relaxed and happy when we came home and our house was spotless. This was our first experience with Chris and Rover, but it most certainly will not be our last.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marlborough walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marlborough maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marlborough choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Marlborough. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
