I own a large, reactive senior dog that is my pride and joy so I’m well versed in reactive dogs with spicy personalities. Disclaimer: I’m a physician with unpredictable hours but I know my schedule months in advance so we’ll work together to find a good routine. I will always be transparent if I can’t provide the care needed due to time constraints. I’m comfortable with dogs of any size, age, or medical needs and cats are more than welcome to join the gang ! About: I have been taking care of sweet, precious pups since I was 7 years old when my mom surprised me and my brother with a basset hound puppy after school. Her name was Roxanne. A couple years later, we rescued a 6-year-old basset hound, Brandi, and a few years later, we rescued a 1-year-old beagle mix, Misty, and adopted a basset hound puppy, Willow, who had just been born on a farm near our house. We treasured our sweet babies, cooking for them every day - hard-boiled eggs for breakfast and meat and veggies for dinner. And they lived long, happy lives. Brandi, Misty, and Willow all made it to about 15 years old! I just moved from Colorado to start my PhD in Public Health at WashU, and I can't wait to pick back up with dog sitting again! In Colorado, I was the honorary dog sitter at my church. One couple even flew me out to California a few times to continue caring for their sweet pup after they moved! Between my own dogs and others' dogs, I've taken care of dogs of all ages, from puppies to seniors who need lots of support. I am a PhD student at WashU Bursky School of Public Health. This semester, I have a class on the Danforth campus on Tuesdays from 9am to 12pm, Wednesdays from 12pm-1pm, and Thursdays from 1pm-4pm. My research is remote. So, I have lots of flexibility to make sure your pups get their potty breaks and play time and walk time, even on days that I have class. And house sitting would work super well :) I am offering house sitting, check-ins, and walks. If I am house sitting, I will always stay the night to make sure your pets are safe and well taken care of. I will keep the outer doors locked and make sure I am able to hear your pets if they need me. I am also happy to sleep in the same room with them if that is your preference. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jani! She took incredible care of our sweet Maggie while we were out of town, and I am so grateful. Maggie had been quite sick with pneumonia in the weeks leading up to our trip, and although she had recovered, we were still watching closely for any returning symptoms. When Maggie suddenly started vomiting and stopped eating, Jani was absolutely amazing. She kept me updated every step of the way and didn’t hesitate to take Maggie to the emergency vet, where she received the care she needed and is thankfully doing much better. As you can imagine, being so far away when Maggie wasn’t feeling well was incredibly stressful. But knowing she was in Jani’s loving, capable hands gave me tremendous peace of mind until I could get home. Jani is not only responsible and attentive, but genuinely caring. She treated Maggie as if she were her own, and that means the world to me. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their furry family member!
A great person and a dog lover. We felt so comfortable leaving our house and dog in the care of Becky. Gus can be a lot clingy, and she sent pictures of all his attempts to sit in her lap and receive extra attention. The house was clean, nothing was amiss. I would definitely work with her again, and so would Gus!
Izzy is a delightful, caring and conscientious young lady. She spent real time with me during our meet and greet & my dog took to her as if she was her owner. KC is a very timid and fearful baby but warmed up to Izzy like I have never seen. Trustworthy, timely and left my home cleaner than when I left. I would choose her over and over and over again! 💕
Emily was so flexible with us. When our first trip was suddenly canceled, she agreed to come fewer days so we could go somewhere closer. She was great with the two animals a cat and a dog. We had Mallory stay overnight at our house with our senior Persian. Before her stay, she came over for a meet and greet so everyone felt comfortable. It was apparent that she is a very kind and caring person. During her stay she kept us updated with how things were going and pictures. She cleaned up a couple of puking incidents and let us know that Marigold had in fact puked, had been sneezing and hadn’t had a bowel movement. These updates were truly appreciated and I was relieved she was paying attention to things that seemed out of the ordinary. Marigold routinely potties on potty pads and Mallory kept up with those changings which, in my opinion, is above and beyond kitty care. Additionally, Miss Marigold tends to yowl in the nights as she has aged and has reduced vision in one eye. Mallory was patient with those night time needs and brought her back to bed with her to comfort her. Overall, I appreciate the above and beyond care and I recommend her to anyone who has kitties!
Bridget was wonderful with our dog who is not the easiest fella. He is rambunctious and she handled him well. Kept us updated with just the right amount of pictures, took him for walks several times daily. She left the house sooo clean and communicated clearly throughout the week. Definitely plan to call her again.
Michael is a great guy and animal lover. I am so grateful, he did an great job looking after my 2 dogs and 4 cats house sitting while I was away on a business trip. Alexandra watched my German Shepherd and senior cat while I was away for a float trip over the weekend. Even though she knew I would be in an area with limited cell reception, she took the time to send pictures and updates a few times a day so they’d arrive when I did have service. I could tell that my printed care instructions were followed because they were checked off and notes added where needed. Alexandra also went the extra mile and took the time to brush my cat, strip the bedding off the bed, and leave a written note before she left. Would highly recommend Alexandra as a petsitter!
