About: We are a homeschool family, so your pup will get lots of attention all day long. Our two sons love to care for pets and especially love to play with, walk and train dogs. Our yard is very large (.4 acre). It is completely fenced (6 foot fence) and mostly grass. It is a puppy paradise. We have a black lab/greyhound cross named Angus, who is very friendly with other dogs, and no other pets. We look forward to meeting your family and caring for your dog. We pet sit for all sizes and breed of friendly dogs, extra large breeds are more than welcome. My husband and I both work from home. I work part time. Our two teen aged sons are homeschooled, so the dogs are with us all day long. We treat your dog just like our own. I have a very friendly well socialized Black lab/greyhound mix. We have a .40 acre fully fenced yard and a dog door. Typically we keep a baby gate up to keep the dogs back from the front door.

About: While I grew up with dogs and cats (and some cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, and goats!), I fell in love with dogs when I became an official pet parent at the age of 22 with a 2 year old chihuahua. This particular chihuahua came from a mistreated home, so I learned how to train with patience, love, and more patience! I then gained another chihuahua (a rescue) at the very tender age of 8 weeks old, and learned a lot more about puppy care. A few years later I added two Maltipoos to my family (both siblings at 12 weeks old). I had 4 dogs ranging from 5-9lbs each. During this time, I also took in a Pekapoo and a Bichon for about 2 years (family friends in need of some help). I had 6 dogs under 1 roof living happily together - I loved it! I have had the privilege of watching 3 of my dogs grow from puppyhood to their golden years. I also have experience with senior dogs with medical needs. My oldest chihuahua was on 3 different heart medications for her remaining 3 years before crossing the rainbow bridge. I am great with giving medication to dogs and do not shy away from ensuring medicine is taken on time. I maintain up-to-date medical appointments, vaccines, grooming, and have had more than my fair share of emergency situations. While I love the playfulness of puppies, I have truly grown to love my senior dogs and understand their needs are just as important (if not more) than a puppy. I am patient with "potty" time, meal times, and understand the need to earn their trust. I am currently working part-time and have availability in the evenings and weekends to assist others with their pet care needs. Per my job, I will also have more availability during the summer months and around some holidays. Caring for a pet in their own home is a big responsibility, but I believe this helps many pets remain calmer and more comfortable if they are in an environment they are familiar with. I would stay within the boundaries of the home (inside and outside) that pertain only to the pet. I would feel most comfortable if all necessary pet supplies remained in the same room/space as the pets sleeping quarters. Any toys to play with while outside would be great! I will also pick up any pet waste while I am there.
