“Sarah was wonderful! My dog loved having her stop by to let her out and play with her, and I loved all of the pictures! Sarah was also very accommodating - I had a last minute schedule change at work and Sarah was able to come by earlier than our original time. I wouldn’t think twice about having Sarah come by to look after my dog again.”

“Kianna was awesome! You can tell she loves and cares for animals! She took amazing care of my cat and my cat was really happy. Will definitely request Kianna’s help again!”

“Danielle took fantastic care of our pups! She was extremely flexible regarding a last-minute drop-in booking, and sent us plenty of updates (and adorable photos) during her visits. Would absolutely recommend her services.”

“Stephanie did a great job taking care of our pup! She was a available with a days notice, was able to come over and go through the routine and schedule and meet our pup. She provided regular check ins and helped provide some company to our pup. We will definitely be rebooking Stephanie in the future!!”

About: I’ve had a love for animals for as long as I can remember and have lots of experience caring for pets. Over the years, friends, family, and even neighbors have trusted me to take care of their fur babies, and I absolutely love treating every pet as if they were my own! I have 5 dogs and a cat of my own, and they are truly my world. They’re very loving, playful, and definitely spoiled! 🐶🐱💕 Because I know how much our pets mean to us, I want you to feel completely comfortable knowing your babies are in caring and loving hands. I’ll give your pets the same attention, love, patience, and care that I give my own. 🐾💗 I’m available Tuesday–Saturday anytime! 🐾 Just let me know ahead of time if you need an early-morning drop-in so I can plan accordingly thank you! 🩷 Your pet’s safety and happiness are always my top priority! 🐾💕 I want every fur baby to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re in my care. I provide a clean, calm, and welcoming environment where they can relax, play, and feel right at home. I also understand how important trust is when leaving your baby with someone, so I’ll treat them with the same love, patience, and care I would want for my own pets. 🐶🐱💗
“Heather was absolutely amazing with my two dogs, Winston and Jack. From the start, she was professional, friendly, and made me feel completely comfortable leaving them in her care. She kept me updated with pictures and messages, which really gave me peace of mind while I was away. Winston and Jack both looked happy, relaxed, and very well cared for when I got back. It was obvious Heather spent quality time with them and treated them like her own dogs. She paid attention to their routines, made sure they got plenty of care and attention, and went above and beyond to make them comfortable. I would definitely book with Heather again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to watch their pets.”
“Justine and Will were great, and apparently my cats loved them! Sometimes my cats become reclusive when we leave them to a sitter. But not this time! All three of them came out for pets and to play. This made me happy! We will hopefully be using them again in the future.”

About: I have over a decade of experience working with animals in both the shelter setting and veterinary medicine so I am no stranger to caring for animals. I have experience working with all breeds and personalities and would love to meet your furry family members! I am currently a stay at home mom whose youngest kiddo just started school so I have an extremely flexible schedule. I would love the opportunity to work with you and your family. I have a golden retriever and a doberman pinscher of my own at home so I am no stranger to big dogs. I have also worked with many shelter dogs, cats and with exotic animals at the vet clinic, you name it, I've probably worked with it. I love all animals and am excited to take care of some new fur friends.
“Christy went above and beyond while caring for our German Shepherd. From the beginning, it was clear that Nani was in loving and attentive hands. Christy made sure she was fed on schedule, kept her area clean by consistently picking up after her, and even took the time to brush her so she stayed comfortable and well cared for. What stood out the most was the genuine affection and attention Christy gave her. Nani can be particular about people, but she quickly became comfortable and happy around her, which says a lot. We received updates that gave us peace of mind and could tell she was getting plenty of love, patience, and care while we were away. It’s obvious Christy truly went above and beyond to make Nani feel safe and loved. I would absolutely trust her with Nani again and highly recommend Christy to anyone looking for a dependable, kind, and thoughtful sitter.”

About: I have two dogs and a cat who have grew up with me pretty much my whole life. I take them on walks, give them baths, and feed them at my home!! I am not originally from here, I am from Washington and moved here to play college basketball. So there will be no animals in the house I am at now!! I am a collegiate athlete who is responsible, and has time on her hands looking to make some extra money to pay off my tuition! I have a fenced yard and a two story house with a couple of my teammates. I am able to go to your place or the animals can come to mine. Either works perfectly!

About: My parents bred dogs growing up, so I’ve been around dogs since I was a kid. I used to dog sit for friends and family as well, so I’m comfortable going to others’ houses to feed and let dogs out. I’m currently a grad school student, so I’m just trying to fit in money making opportunities where I can. Plus, it’ll give me a good excuse to pause on my homework! I love taking the time to give dogs lots of pets and get their energy out until their owner returns. I also walk out with the dogs when I let them out so they’re not left in the heat too long.
About: I grew up in a small town on a farm. I love animals & dogs hold a special place in my heart. I have always had a dog along with many other farm animals growing up & it makes life so much more sweeter! I am a college student doing small jobs to stay busy while I finish my master’s degree. I’m always up for a good walk & time in the sunshine. I love in a house with family & my puppy. He is very friendly & loves to meet other dogs. I have no problem crating, walking, feeding, playing fetch, and keeping your dog happy.
About: I have worked as a veterinary assistant for several years at a local veterinary clinic. I can administer medications as needed and easily understand pet body language. I am a beginner dog groomer as of 2026. I am working part time currently. I am typically available to visit your pet(s) at least once a day. Thank you for your time and consideration. I will be sure your pet receives a high level of care including play time, socialization and all other needs. I can give medications if needed and trim toenails on request.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cashion
Jaylah was great. This was the first time we used her, and we will be using her again. She was great at taking the pictures and informing us on how our dogs were doing. Our 11 year dog is crippled, And she took wonderful care of him. We absolutely recommend jaylah.

Daisy was absolutely amazing. One of the best dog sitters ive had. She sent me lots of photos and played with them, sent me detailed info on her visits and how theyre doing. She went above and beyond. I could not recommend her enough and she will be my go to in the future.

Our pups absolutely love having Lindsey come over to check on them. I naturally have anxiety for my dogs having to be away from us, and being able to feel comfortable with having someone come into the home to care for them has been wonderful. We highly recommend Lindsey!

Daisy P is a GREAT pet sitter!! She was very punctual, thorough, and responsible. Plus, the dogs LOVE her. She interacted with them and played fetch with them - they loved her visit. They had only met her once before, and they were very excited to see her again. We are definitely going to be requesting her frequently.

We had Allyson do a drop in when we took a day trip to Phoenix. She had stayed with our pets for a long weekend, so we were perfectly comfortable that all would go well. And it did. She’s a great communicator and really cares about our animals. Highly recommend her!

Sierra went above and beyond to care for our Sheltie, Nani. She sent lots of pictures and messaged me to let me know when she arrived and when she was leaving. Nani needed to be fed dinner and be taken for her daily walk, as well as have a little company while I was away taking a class. I knew she was in good hands with Sierra and will definitely hire her again if the need arises.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
