“Rachael was awesome! From first meeting Rachael (and having a butterfly land her, which felt like a sign), we had a good feeling about leaving our two pups in her care. When it came time for the stay, our dogs loved her (even our shy/stand-offish one), and we came back to a neat house. Wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to her again. Thank you so much for taking great care of our pups!”

At our initial meeting with Christie, we were impressed with her interaction with our beloved cat and how nicely he responded to her. During our vacation, we received daily texts with pictures as well as a short paragraph on how things were going. Christie spent time after feeding our cat to pet and interact with him, then sent photos highlighting her daily visits. We unequivocally give our highest recommendation to Christie!”

About: I care about all animals, wild animals too. I grew up with dogs and have been around them and taken care of them most of my life. I love all breeds. I grew up with Newfoundlands and take care of a Doodle now. I've cared for Staffies, Pitties, Dobermans, Labs, etc. I love them all! I worked on a cattle farm for a couple of years where there was a dog rescue. I'm the first call family members make to care for their dogs when they go away. I'm a big fan of cats too! My first priority is to make sure the dogs and cats feel safe, that someone is looking out for them and that they have a fun time. I work remotely part-time, so I have plenty of time to care for pets. I'm available 7 days a week since I can't think of a better way to spend my time than being around animals. Buddy is the dog in my profile photo. I care for him every day and I just want him to enjoy his life. I live in a townhouse community so dogs need to be on a leash. My boy Buddy always has a leash and harness on when he goes out for walks. I can adjust to any arrangements you may have in your home.

About: With experience as a former veterinary technician, I have a strong background in providing safe, attentive, and compassionate care for dogs and cats. I’m experienced with administering medications, maintaining daily routines, and providing general pet care while paying close attention to each animal’s individual needs. I’ve worked in a variety of animal shelters and kennels, giving me experience with pets of different ages, personalities, and behavioral needs. I have a particular understanding of dog behavior and am comfortable working with shy, nervous, or anxious dogs and cats. My goal is always to help each pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in their own environment. I also previously fostered puppies through the Brandywine SPCA, where I helped prepare them for adoption by teaching basic commands, manners, and foundational training. Before each pet-sitting stay, I like to meet with you and your pets so I can learn their routines, preferences, personalities, and specific needs. Building trust with both pets and their owners is very important to me. I look forward to meeting your pets and providing them with the same patience, attention, and care I would give my own. Your pets’ safety and well-being are always my top priorities I currently work full-time at a kennel with a consistent schedule, including the same days off each week. My typical shifts are six hours, with occasional 10-hour weekend shifts. I receive my schedule two weeks in advance, allowing me to plan ahead and maintain flexibility for additional work commitments While I’m currently unable to have pets in my own home, I’m happy to travel to your home to provide pet-sitting services. I like to meet both you and your pets beforehand so they can get comfortable with me in their own environment. This also gives me the opportunity to learn about their routines, personalities, and individual needs while getting to know you and building a trusting relationship. I love spending quality time with pets, whether that means playing with dogs and cats, giving them attention and companionship, or simply making sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. :::

“Brady's visit was quite impressive with my two senior dogs. My dogs are rescues and take a while to warm up to people so the constantly bark. They didn't really bark at all and warmed up to him right away which always takes longer with others even family so I was impressed. Brady was always on time and very polite I'm excited we found someone that my dogs will enjoy!”

I truly enjoy spending time with dogs, whether it’s going for a relaxing walk, an energetic run, or simply giving them plenty of attention and care. I’m responsible, caring, and will treat your dog like one of my own! I work full-time from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. During the week, I’m available before and after work for walks, drop-ins, and care. On weekends, I’m available throughout the entire day and can be flexible to accommodate your dog’s routine and needs. Your dog’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. About: With four years of experience, I've developed a deep understanding of dog care. My hands-on work has taught me to handle a variety of breeds and temperaments, managing everything from feeding and medication to special routines. My own rescue dog has added a personal layer to my professional skills. It's taught me the empathy and patience needed to build trust, proving that my approach is rooted in genuine love and a true commitment to a dog's well-being. Caring for my own rescue dog has naturally woven pet care into the very fabric of my daily and weekly routine. It's not a chore; it's a structured part of my day that brings consistency to my life, and most importantly, to his. Daily Routine: Morning: The day starts with a walk and a feeding. This isn't just about meeting his basic needs; it's our time to bond, to get some fresh air, and to start the day with a positive routine. Throughout the day: Even when I'm working, I make sure to have dedicated breaks for play and mental stimulation. This could be a quick game of fetch, a puzzle feeder, or a brief training session to reinforce good behavior. These short bursts of attention prevent boredom and keep him happy. Evening: The day winds down with another walk, dinner, and some quiet time. This is often our cuddle time, where he gets a chance to relax and feel secure, which is especially important for a rescue. When a pet stays with me, they become a temporary member of my family. My focus is on providing a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment that minimizes the stress of being away from home. A "Home Away from Home": I provide a structured but loving environment, mirroring a typical household. My home is completely pet-proofed, with a secure backyard for safe play and potty breaks. Consistency is Key: I work with the owner to maintain the pet's regular schedule for feeding, medication, and sleep. I have a dedicated space for each dog's belongings (food, toys, bed) to help them feel at ease.

Himal was amazing with my two pretty untrained medium-sized dogs who are wholly unused to having a sitter and very attached to me. She watched them upstairs in my house while I hosted a large party downstairs. She was incredibly patient with them and clearly was closely observing their behaviors and changes over time throughout the time the party lasted, learning what worked for them and analyzing why. I can see now that it was a very challenging assignment because they dogs knew I was in the house; nevertheless, she made the very best of it and when I went upstairs to check on everyone at one point, I was very impressed to see the one who is most wary of people-who-are-not-me lying on the bed accepting pets as Himal sat next to her. Himal is exceptionally thoughtful and kind and I highly recommend her!

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Lionville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
