“Christie did a wonderful job tending to my two cats. One who isn't very social with other people besides myself seemed to come out of his shell a little bit. I'm certain if Christie had a couple more visits, Bootsy would have let her pet him. I would definitely book Christie again!”

About: I care about all animals, wild animals too. I grew up with dogs and have been around them and taken care of them most of my life. I love all breeds. I grew up with Newfoundlands and take care of a Doodle now. I've cared for Staffies, Pitties, Dobermans, Labs, etc. I love them all! I worked on a cattle farm for a couple of years where there was a dog rescue. I'm the first call family members make to care for their dogs when they go away. I'm a big fan of cats too! My first priority is to make sure the dogs and cats feel safe, that someone is looking out for them and that they have a fun time. I work remotely part-time, so I have plenty of time to care for pets. I'm available 7 days a week since I can't think of a better way to spend my time than being around animals. Buddy is the dog in my profile photo. I care for him every day and I just want him to enjoy his life. I live in a townhouse community so dogs need to be on a leash. My boy Buddy always has a leash and harness on when he goes out for walks. I can adjust to any arrangements you may have in your home.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and have had dogs my whole life. Volunteering at the SPCA, to either play with, clean kennels, walk, and just to hang out and give them love! My neighbors, family, and friends have always relied on me to take care of their dogs while they are away! I am currently working part time but I have a lot of availability throughout the summer to be able to take care of your animals. Anytime I get to either snuggle with dogs/ cats, play with any animal I treat them as if they were my own! Making sure they are comfortable with me before we start having some playtime fun, if I know an animal doesn’t like something I will back away and stop what I’m doing until they are comfortable and calmed down! Keeping your dog in the crate no problem!! Each rule and instructions you give me I will follow to the max! Anything that happens or if needed to be changed due the weather etc. I will update you and let you know! I also send pictures of your furry friends each time I visit so that you can see how they are doing!
“Erin was a great cat sitter! She had an excellent rapport with Mozart and made him feel very comfortable around her. Her daily reports were very welcome and thorough. Plenty of pictures were quite nice showing Mozart having a good time with Erin. Will definitely hire her again!”

“Jenifer did a meet and greet with my furballs before we booked and you could tell she loves dogs, no matter how rambunctious they can be! I have two crazy 50 pounders and they both looked so happy when we got back home. Jenifer is very pleasant and came as scheduled. I would and will highly recommend her to anyone!”
“Courtney was great! We met a week in advance at a meet and greet, so she could meet Macaroni and I could show her around. The day of, she was communicative, took lots of great pictures and reassured me Macaroni was doing great!”

“I was very nervous about leaving my kitties with someone new but I could quickly tell they were in great hands with Lydia. She sent thoughtful updates every day and lots of pictures so I felt very comfortable knowing they were well taken care of and getting lots of love. I am so glad we found her!”

“Rachael was so wonderful! She took such great care of Barley and left very detailed notes about her visit which we appreciated. We look forward to Rachel coming to care for our pup again!”

“Our fur babies love Elise and so do we ☺️. Very conscientious, reliable, and kind. Made me feel so relieved that someone was taking of them while we were away and giving us updates each day. We also had her take care of our parakeet while away due to not being able to take her with us, and discovers this literally the morning we were set to leave. Elise helped me get things set up with ease. In short, I would highly recommend her and plan on setting up with her for another upcoming trip. ?”

“I seriously could not recommend someone more than laura. She has been so amazing and attentive with scout. Scout doesn't do well alone but we are trying to work on that and she has done such a great job. She takes the best care of him and has become a best buddy to scout. I am booking her for the rest of my semester to help out with my baby and recommend her to EVERYONE!!”

“Avery was amazing! Can’t recommend her enough. Our dog loved her and she took such good care of him. Nico was immediately took to her which was super reassuring! She made sure he had everything he needed while we took a weekend trip. 1000000/10 recommend”

About: I grew up with dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs. I love being an aunt to so many cute animals and pet sitting for my friends and family. I’m currently working part time with a flexible schedule, so I’m available to give your fur kids some company and a midday break most weekdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. I’m happy to work with your pet’s usual routine and timing whenever possible. Since I’ll be caring for pets in their own home, my priority is keeping them comfortable, safe, and as close to their normal routine as possible. I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, walks, potty breaks, medications, playtime, and any house rules or special routines. I know every pet has their own personality and comfort level, so I’m happy to give them lots of attention and affection, or plenty of space to warm up to me at their own pace. I’ll also treat your home with the same care and respect I’d want someone to show mine.
“Christine took wonderful care of my two cats! Our kitties have very different personalities - Cosmo is outgoing and Poppy is shy around new people. Christine played with Cosmo and gave him the attention he loves. She gave Poppy space, but made sure to find her every day and bring a bowl a wet food to wherever Pop was hiding. We loved getting the daily updates and pictures. It was so comforting to know that our cats were in good hands with someone who really cared for their wellbeing.”

“Lydia is just a wonderful, kind, animal lover that I am soooo grateful to have found. She treated my dog like he was her own, she sent me lots of pictures and updates and I could not have asked for a better sitter (at an extremely reasonable price) for my fur baby!!!!!!”

Rachael did such a great job! I was gone for a week and felt completely worry free with Rachael’s help to take care of my cat, Stella. She gave me reports every day detailing her visit, followed instructions, sent me some photos of Stella, and always communicated. Thanks so much for taking care of her while I was away. I look forward to the next time!

Christie takes wonderful care of our cat and some plants while we're on vacation. She arrives at our house like clockwork early every morning because our cat is ready to chow down early. Christie is very conscientious and trustworthy and we will continue to use her services in the future. Thanks, Christie!

Emily has been so great with our two young puppies! She is super communicative and takes great care in making sure the puppies are fed, watered, and happily tired! I especially appreciate how flexible she has been in terms of scheduling and pays close attention to the directions we leave for her. Would recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Mackenzie was wonderful once again! She was reliable, communicative, and always arrived right on time, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I really appreciated the updates and photos, and it was clear my cats were happy to see her again! She handled both of their medications without any issues, and it’s such a relief knowing they’re in such good hands.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
