“Shelby took such good care of our boy! She sent pictures daily and even bought him a new toy! Our house was spotless and it was nice having someone here for our 12 day vacation. The only problem is I think Archer misses her! 😃”

“Susan was phenomenal! She was so attentive to Izzy’s needs and went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable. I loved getting photo updates and can’t explain how much stress it takes off this cat mom knowing she’s in good hands when I leave town!”

About: I have always loved being around animals, but due to my living circumstances and travel activities, owning a pet has become complicated. After retiring in 2022, I stumbled upon pet/house sitting as a means to satisfy my travel urge and my desire to be around animals. In the three years I have been house sitting, I have cared for dozens of family pets in cities all around the US. I have a part time job working a few hours just a couple of mornings a week at a YMCA. However, I have plenty of room in my schedule when I am not traveling. Rover makes it possible for me to satisfy the urge for animal companionship when I am in KC. I do not have the space or circumstances to allow me to care for other people's pets in my home. However, I am willing to travel to your home to care for your pet when you cannot do so yourself. If you need to be gone overnight, I am willing to come and offer your pet the companionship they need to feel comfortable and safe. Similarly, I am happy to do drop-ins to let them out, feed them, take them for walks, clean their litter boxes, etc. As mentioned, I have been actively involved in pet sitting on TrustedHouseSitters for the past three years and have many 5-star reviews for my efforts.

“Michaela was awesome!! Took great care of Coco and it was so nice to have someone at the house to watch over everything. She even watered our plants. Excellent communication before, during and after our trip and we loved getting all of the photos while we were on vacation so we didn't have to worry. This was not our first Rover experience, but the first house sitting one and it gave us peace-of-mind for sure. Thanks again, Michaela.”

“Hailie is a true animal lover with tons of experience. She did an awesome job taking care of our large dog and three cats. Plus, she's super professional, responsive, and easy to work with. Highly recommend!”

About: I’m reliable, patient, and genuinely love caring for animals. I take time to understand each pet’s personality and needs—whether that’s playtime, quiet companionship, or extra attention. You can count on me to treat your pet like family and keep you updated so you always feel at ease. I take care of my three cats morning and night, feeding them three times a day with fresh water at every meal. This routine has taught me the importance of consistency, attention, and creating a calm environment for pets. I’m experienced in providing loving care, monitoring their needs closely, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable throughout the day. I no longer have my dog, but I am more than comfortable with dogs as well! When caring for pets in your home, I prioritize maintaining their regular routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I follow your instructions carefully, whether it’s feeding schedules, exercise, or medication—and give each pet plenty of attention and affection. I make sure their environment stays clean and safe, and I provide updates so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

About: Animals have always had an extremely special place in my heart. Ever since I was a kid I’ve helped care for my family’s own pets: feeding them, caring for their health, giving baths, taking them outside and on walks, and pretty much anything else having a pet entails. I also am in the process of beginning volunteering with the cats and dogs at Lawrence Humane Society! I am a full-time student, but I am available whenever I am not busy with classes. I also have a few volunteering shifts throughout each week that I need to work around, and a job (that I will be done with next month). I provide them with food and water, clean up their litter, play with them, take the dogs on walks, and show all the animals lots of love! I am also flexible and open to doing whatever I am able to.

“Ashlyn did a wonderful job of caring for our boxer pup Laney. She was very responsive & punctual and Laney was happy & well cared for when our son got home from work. We will be lucky to have Ashlyn come again!”

“Kali was great! She focused on the dogs and gave them lots of attention during her stay. She recorded feeding times and times when Kali administered our cat his insulin shots. She was respectful to our home and washed bedding, cleaned floors, bathroom and did her own dishes. Thank you again, Kali!”

“Laura was amazing! Mattis is a unique dog with many quirks, and she adapted to him amazingly. This was the first time we had someone care for him in our home instead of boarding, and we’ll never go back! Highly recommend Laura!”

“Emily was great! She house sat and watched my boy Bruce for three nights. I was provided with regular updates, she asked questions and was a prompt responder throughout the whole process. I came back to a clean house and a happy dog. I would use Emily again in a heartbeat and definitely recommend!”

“We were pretty nervous about having someone in our home to take care of our pets, and have always relied on boarding with out vet, in the past. Shanelle is the first person who we have ever had housesit with our pets. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. We have had her stay 2 or 3 times, and one time for over a week. She is wonderful! She is the sweetest, kindest person, and really seems to care about our home and our pets. Her fiance helps her from time to time and he is also very nice and reliable. Besides doing everything that was expected, she also made sure our newly planted grass was watered every day, and took our 9 month old puppy to her own home for a playdate with her own dogs. Our house was clean and in perfect order when we got home. We can't thank Shanelle enough for such a great experience, and we highly recommend her! We will have her stay again, for sure!”

“Leslie did an outstanding job in communicating with us throughout the week. Her stay coincided with a severe winter storm and heavy snowfall. She shoveled the sidewalk and driveway repeatedly. Will definitely use her again!”

About: I’ve always had dogs in my life, either from friends, my own house, partners, parties at houses, and more. Every dog I’ve met I’ve become friends with and we usually vibe together at every meeting. I love playing with dogs and getting their energy out, but I also love chilling with low energy dogs and having some quiet time. I truly am open to all kinds of dogs to watch and I’d love to be friends with your dog too! I’m currently working two part-time jobs and I am starting classes back up on August 18, but I am still available for over-night house sitting and potty breaks throughout the day. Weekends should allow me some more time to spend with the pet(s) as I won’t be as busy during the day. I make sure to always follow any rules set by the home owners, as I believe the place I’m staying should be respected and kept tidy. I make sure to cross off any lists I’ve made of supplies that will be needed during the time the home/pet owners are gone. I also love staying places because it feels like a mini vacation for myself. And, I get to do it with pets around?? Heck yeah!

I am available for dog walking, check-in visits, and house sitting. I can also offer enrichment and basic training services as add-ons. Let's talk about some enrichment strategies to help your dog live a happy and full life!

Whether your pet loves cuddles, playtime, or peaceful walks, I adjust to their needs with patience and genuine care. Pet care is a part of my everyday life—I care for my two cats daily, so feeding, cleaning, playtime, and attention are already built into my routine. I work on a flexible schedule, which allows me to plan visits and drop-ins throughout the day without rushing. Whether it’s a quick litter check or a longer visit with cuddles and enrichment, I enjoy making time for animals and giving them the care they deserve. “Michelle W did an awesome job caring for our elderly pupper. She sent pics on their walks, gave him love & attention, fed him on our schedule, brought in our mail, and informed us of a Christmas package that had arrived. This is our 2nd Christmas having Michelle care for our dog/home and we could not be happier! Michelle is a professional, personable, caring person to trust with your pet. HIGHLY RECOMMEND her.”

Not only does he do everything for the pet(s) and more, he does that for the household and family as well. For example, puts away dishes, wipes down the counter, and walks dogs even when not expected by his families.
