About: We have been owners of a golden retriever for 6 years and are experienced with the needs of dogs. I have also watched friends dogs many times while they were out of town. I'm a homeschooled mom who will have a lot of time during the day to give your dog love and attention. My own dog spends lots of time outside enjoying fresh air and squirrels. I have a fenced yard and can take your pup on regular walks. My kids and I love animals and will be happy to cover scratches and cuddles while you're at work or out of town
“Michelle was great to work with - from setting up a meet and greet to make sure we were a good fit to sending updates and pictures throughout our pup’s stay - she exceeded all of our expectations! I would highly recommend her and will definitely be using her again!”

About: I’ve dealt with almost any kind of cat or dog from sick kittens that needed fostering, to old dogs in need of medication. I love all pets! I am available any day or time of the week! I am a full time college student but I am only required on campus for tests, so you need something I’m there! Any special needs I am okay taking care of! Playtime and stimulation is important to me and for any pets’ wellbeing. I welcome all ages and sizes of pets.
“Ryleigh was great. She's a genuine animal lover. She boarded my kitty for a week and everything went smoothly. She sent photo updates, which was greatly appreciated since I was pretty nervous about sending my cat off to be boarded for the first time. I will definitely reach out and have her board my cat again if the situation arises. Thanks Ryleigh!”

About: I’ve lived my whole life with at least one pet in the house and shared responsibility in caring for him or her. I took in my own pupper, Benji, in the summer of 2020 as a 4-month-old puppy and trained him myself. My husband and I also have a precious cat named Princess who rules the roost :) We love our fur family, and I/we can’t wait to love on yours! I work a regular 8-5 job that has some flexibility in the morning and afternoon (I can come in later and leave earlier if I need to). I’m free most evenings and weekends. I can take care of pets in my apartment for a short period, but they have to be ok with cats and dogs. I have a cat tree and a litter box, and I take my small dog on a walk 3x a day. I would do the same or more for my clients. I also expect my clients to line out any needs and rules for me in their homes and/or for their pets so I can take care of them as desired.
“Lori took great care of Rosie while we were out of town for the weekend. She kept us updated and even sent a few photos. I would definitely recommend her to friends looking for a pet sitter.”

“Derek was great w/Oso. My little bear 🐻 was very calm before & after I picked him up. Derek kept me updated w/great pics & gave great advice on getting Oso out & about more around people & other dogs. He is still a pup & everything is new still, however I agree with him & appreciate his advice. I will probably book him again 😀.”

“We had a last minute out of town trip pop up and Colleen & Mozart were easily to quickly coordinate with. They were very friendly and easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend!”

“Jania and family were the blessing we didn’t know we needed! After leaving for vacation and realizing our original plan to leave our dog at our house and have friends pop in and out throughout the week, was not going to work for our anxious, clingy dog. We were desperate and stressed, not only did Jania respond within 5 mins to my email, but she agreed to take our dog that same day. Her communication instantly put me at ease and the photos sent twice a day were the icing on top. I was able to completely put aside any concerns and enjoy our vacation knowing our dog was happy, loved, and well taken care of! I cannot say enough good things!!”

About: When I was growing up babysit for my brothers bestfriend. I would have to walk the dogs and it got her energy out as well. :) I have 5 cats and I have to change their litter daily, feed them twice a day , give them love and attention. I will go to my grandmas and walk her dog for her. I treat them as I they are mine. I love animals no matter how big or small. And I follow the instructions from the orders of the times they want to feed them.

“Linsey was really helpful and determined to make sure that my dog was feeling safe, happy and taken care of. I couldn’t be happier and satisfied with the service she provided plus, she takes really good pictures too”

“Our dog *loved* staying with Alex, Lindsey & their family! She was always so excited to go back to stay with them and was tired the whole next day after a stay from all the fun she had!!”

“Greta was so great! Our Harley is like a daughter/sister to us, so it was important we find someone to watch her who would care for her as much as we do ourselves. She communicated, sent pictures, and was so accommodating to our unplanned schedule change. WE will definitely book with her again!”

About: Finding pet care can be an anxiety inducing experience. My job is to provide pet parents with total comfort and peace of mind knowing that their fur babies are being well taken care of while they are away. Hey there! My name is Kayla and I am a 30 year old childless cat (and dog) lady. I have spent my entire life around animals and wouldn't have it any other way. We always had dogs while growing up, which eventually grew into also having cats, mice, lizards, etc. I turned this personal love of animals into a profession by spending many years working in pet boarding/daycare facilities, pet shelters, and by pet sitting on the side. I have been around so many different kinds of pet personalities and temperaments and strive to approach each animal appropriately to keep everyone safe and comfortable. I have also had much experience with special needs and senior pets. A big part of my job is it keep owners updated on any concerns I have or to ask important questions, so you never miss a beat of what is going on with your furry companion while you are gone. I pride myself in having a ton of heart and genuine care for any animal I come into contact with, and promise to treat your fur baby as my own - belly rubs and treats included! I currently work full time, 9-5 M-F. I will have plenty of time in the late afternoon/evening to care for your pets, as well as open availability Saturday and Sunday I will care for your fur baby just like he or she is my own! I'm good at following instructions of care and sticking to the routine they are used to. Plenty of belly rubs and walks included!
“We have used Emily and her lovely family to care for our senior dog on 2 different occasions and we will not hesitate to reach out again if needed. They have been so flexible and kind both times. I appreciate the great and timely communication. It can be a little nerve wracking leaving an older dog (with some issues) but Emily made us feel very comfortable! 10/10 recommend!”

“I am so impressed with the care that went into taking care of my pup. I mistakenly booked the wrong dates and realized last minute. Daniela accommodated the schedule change and was so kind about it. My dog was instantly comfortable with these hosts and I received lots of cute pictures and updates. I will absolutely recommend them to anybody looking for someone who will care for your pup and make them feel right at home. If I could give 10 stars, I would!”

“Lindsay was absolutely INCREDIBLE. She watched both of my dogs and took great care of their individual needs. She sent pictures and wonderful updates to make sure we felt comfortable, we are so grateful. I highly recommend this awesome sitter !”

Ashley is our go-to sitter for our Golden - she treats our dog as if she’s her own! They go for walks, play outside, and my dog is always so excited to go back. Ashley is responsive to messages and sends lots of fun photos of our dogs playing together. We always know she’s going to have a great time when we leave her with Ashley’s family and her friendly Goldens. 10/10 would recommend!!

Miss Lisa is just the most amazing person. She took care of my little guy Rio for 5 days and I couldn’t have been happier and more at peace knowing my little guy was safe AND happy with her. She truly is such a gem and I’m so glad I found her. Thank you so so much for loving my little pup Rio and making sure I had nothing to worry about while he was in your care. 10 stars!

Nathan is an amazing caretaker. He gave us frequent updates and made absolutely certain that our dog was happy and well taken care of. We trusted him with our sweet toy poodle and he did a wonderful job keeping her entertained and exercised. We would highly recommend him to anyone!!

Infinity gave truly amazing service while taking care of my dog! She sent photos and videos of Jasmine on a daily basis. She showed patience in dealing with a hyper 16 month old German Shepherd. I can’t express enough how grateful I am to her for the loving care she gave my best friend!!!
michelle and family were very friendly to me and stellah at time of drop off .... made me feel comfortable leaving stellah in their care right from the start .... michelle kept in contact with me with texting and pics throughout stellah's stay to put me in even more of a comfort zone .... stellah really enjoyed michelles giant back yard (i understand stellah did some serious roaming and play activity with the other dogs) .... michelle and her kids showed some serious love to stellah (i could tell as stellah was not as excited to leave with me at pick up as she has been with other sitters) .... it was heart warming when i picked up stellah to see her sitting and offering her attention to michelles boy .... michelles boy said "stellah is my favorite dog" .... michelle will be my go to in the future when we leave town for the family love and apparent exercize stellah received .... i might even drop off stellah once in awhile for the activity & love stellah received even if we are in town .... i highly recommend michelle and family to sit your dog ....
Anni provided exceptional communication prior to and during the entire time she boarded my dog. She has a great set-up for a dog enjoys outside time and she was prompt in being ready for my drop-off and pick-up times. Given I was traveling from out of town for a football game in Lincoln, she allowed me to now worry whatsoever about the care of my dog in a city that is not my home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
