“I was out of town and had an emergency with my little dog Zoey, Staci not only helped me out lsst minute, but picked Zoey up for me and took wonderful care of her for a week until U came back into town. Staci sent me pictures and updates, reassuring me Zoey was ok and well taken care of. I wouldnt hesistate to book with Staci again, she was a lifesaver and a FANTASTIC caregiver to my sensitive, elderly dog. I cant thank her enough!”
“Loved getting daily updates and pictures. It was nice knowing my pup was somewhere getting attention and exercise rather than in a kennel all day. Mila will def be going back!”

“Danae was amazing! I was totally comfortable leaving Maggie with Danae. I appreciated all of the updates that Danae provided and the pictures that she sent. Maggie takes a while warming up to new people and Danae was so patient and understanding. Will definitely book with Danae again when we need her.”

“Michelle cares for my little lamb as if he were one her own children (human and fur). It's so comforting and reassuring to know that Yoshi Bear has excellent care when I am out of town. I highly recommend Michelle and her ability to care for my child. The photos she sends are always so cute, as well! I will book again with Michelle -- she is amazing!!”

“They took great care of Mr. Wiggins, he was comfy and happy at his sleepover! Ashley & Kyle were flexible and easy to work with, and excellent communicators. Thank you!”

“Bethany took such great care of my pup, Lucy. Lucy lost her eyesight fairly recently and Bethany made sure Lucy was safe and loved during her stay. We will be using Bethany again!”

“Stephanie did such a great job with our Duke. She and her husband were prompt communicators, sent pictures, and allowed us to pick up early when our plans changed. They have the perfect home setup for keeping dogs safe and engaged in play with other friends. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Lori was great! I was a little nervous as I had never boarded or left Andre with a stranger but she kept me updated daily. She was very accommodating and responded quickly to any and all messages and questions. I would highly recommend! Thanks Lori!”

“Sidney & Shelby are amazing!! They loved on our dog and treated her like royalty! River loved being there and felt like she was at home! We cannot recommend them enough!! Thank you ladies!! You two are incredible!!!!❤️❤️🐶”

“Nicole was amazing! She has 3 well behaved beautiful dogs that got to play and distract Midas while we were gone. She also has some extra little hand that I am sure gave our dog so much love while we were gone! We got pictures daily! We were so happy that he was so well taken care of we would request Nicole anytime we are out of town. Highly recommend”

“Amy was great with our 14 week old Basset Hound pups. She sent us pictures of the girls everyday of them having a gray time. We highly recommend Amy if your looking for someone to watch your pet for the day or an entire week. We’ll definitely use her again in the future Kevin Peters”

“Tory was more than just amazing. This was our first big trip leaving our puppy behind and she was so understanding and helpful. She sent us pictures of Churro playing, gave us daily updates on how he was doing and even accommodated to a last minute (and very inconvenient) change we had to our plans. After getting locked out of our house on accident she willingly took Churro an extra night no complaints or second thoughts. She even offered to do it without pay (though we would never accept such an offer, especially under those circumstances). We would and will recommend her a thousand times over. Churro had such an amazing time, we have never seen him so happy or comfortable while we were gone, he’s usually a nervous wreck. She is a natural with dogs, and it shows in their demeanor with her. We are so grateful for this great experience.”

“Kayle and her family were amazing! They took such great care of my dog. They sent pictures and updates. I felt so confident that my pup was being taken care of and having fun while I was gone. I’m so grateful I found them on here! I will absolutely book them again :)”

“Aspen was great! This was our first time taking our dog there and we will definitely be going back. We received lots of pictures throughout the weekend and she even took him to the dog park to burn some energy. Overall this was a great experience.”

“Marie was excellent! She communicated consistently and provided great care for my 7 month frenchie. I would recommend her to anyone who needs boarding or pet care!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
