“We have been boarding our two dogs with Patricia and her family for just over a year now. We are so happy to have someone we trust watching our fur babies! Patricia understands our dogs’ different needs and preferences (one is a Velcro dog and one likes to hide), and she provides them with what they need. They are always happy to go to her house, and they always look happy in the daily pictures! Thank you for another great stay!”

“Andrea took great care of our energetic boy! She was flexible when we needed to adjust our dates and kept us updated throughout his stay. Kody seemed comfortable and very much at home. We will definitely book with Andrea in the future!”

“From the moment of the meet & greet we knew our dogs were in great hands. We will use Melissa for all our dog sitting needs. Dogs very well taken care of. Great pictures. Felt like Melissa treated our dogs like they were her dogs. Thank you Melissa.”

“Brett and Christine were so great with my pup! He had a bit of a strained back leg when I dropped him off, and they did a great job making sure he didn’t exert himself too much. When I picked him up after the weekend, he was walking normally and they said he had a great time with their other dogs. Will definitely be booking again!”

“I can’t thank Kayle enough for taking such good care of my boy!! She sent pics from his stay - it was soo great to see him so comfortable and relaxed! It sure makes being away so much easier knowing he was so loved and well cared for while we were gone! We finally found our ‘home’ away from home for our sweet Bob!! 💕💕”

“We just moved to town and feel so fortunate we found Nicole to dog sit. Our dog can be very hesitant of new people and scared to death of fireworks. Her whole family went above and beyond to take care of Magic over the 4th of July weekend. Highly recommend”

“Doyle and Michael are great. Our dog, Kirby, was so happy when we picked him up! We could tell he had a good time and was well cared for❤️. These guys are the best!”

“Our dog had a wonderful time with Danielle and her family over the Christmas holiday! She made him feel right at home ☺️ We would be happy to have him stay there again in the future!!”

“Derek was great w/Oso. My little bear 🐻 was very calm before & after I picked him up. Derek kept me updated w/great pics & gave great advice on getting Oso out & about more around people & other dogs. He is still a pup & everything is new still, however I agree with him & appreciate his advice. I will probably book him again 😀.”

“Chelsea is a very kind person. She took great care of my puppy. She provided pictures daily. She did her best to make him comfortable. Charlie came back happy and very calm and content.I recommend her without hesitation.”

“5 star household! Our old man was so tired from all the play time. They provided great photos and updates and showed concern when he had a bit of bleeding from tug of war. Knowing they pay attention to details gave us additional peace of mind.”

“Emily and her family were absolutely amazing with my dog. Emily was super responsive and gave amazing updates throughout the stay. She was extremely attentive and put me at ease in knowing my dog was in good hands. My dog has never been more worn out from fun and exercise coming home from a sitter. I definitely know my dog will be excited to go back the next time I leave town.”
“Sarah is absolutely wonderful. She and her family invited my pup into their home and treated him like he was one of their own. She kept me up to date on how he was doing, sent lots of pictures, spoiled him with treats, and allowed him to get comfortable in her home. I’ll absolutely have Sarah watch my pup again when I need a sitter.”

“Andrea was absolutely wonderful with Pandy! She was very careful, attentive, and made sure Pandy was comfortable and well-cared for throughout her stay. One thing I really appreciated was how thoughtfully she documented Pandy’s activities, she has an amazing eye for photography and shared lots of adorable pictures that truly captured Pandy’s personality. It gave me such peace of mind knowing Pandy was in such good hands.”

“Robert was wonderful with our dog. He was a great communicator both before and after the booking. It’s so hard leaving our pup behind but we felt reassured he was in good hands with Robert. We hope that when we need to board again Robert will be available!”

“Anja was wonderful with our dog Nyla! Nyla got lots of exercise and loving care when she stayed with Anja. Nyla reportedly behaved well and got along great with Anja’s two dogs. I got pictures and sometimes videos of Nyla’s antics. Although we missed her while we were away, I knew Nyla was I. Good hands with Anja.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ashland
Therese was outstanding. Molly, (my dog), is a rescue dog and Therese was able to handle her perfectly. Somebody was always around the house so Molly had a person to interact with, plus she was regularly exercised. This is the first time (there were four previous tries with other caretakers) that Molly came back home happy and stress-free. This was due to the Therese's care. I will use her again in the future and recommend her to anybody needing skilled dog care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
