About: I’ve lived my whole life with at least one pet in the house and shared responsibility in caring for him or her. I took in my own pupper, Benji, in the summer of 2020 as a 4-month-old puppy and trained him myself. My husband and I also have a precious cat named Princess who rules the roost :) We love our fur family, and I/we can’t wait to love on yours! I work a regular 8-5 job that has some flexibility in the morning and afternoon (I can come in later and leave earlier if I need to). I’m free most evenings and weekends. I can take care of pets in my apartment for a short period, but they have to be ok with cats and dogs. I have a cat tree and a litter box, and I take my small dog on a walk 3x a day. I would do the same or more for my clients. I also expect my clients to line out any needs and rules for me in their homes and/or for their pets so I can take care of them as desired.
“Aubrey was awesome! She took great care of my 9 month old wild woman for a week while I was gone. She sent me pictures to keep me up to date of Olive’s adventures with the resident dog Stevie! She can’t wait to come back and play soon!”

“Our three yorkies Westen, Willow, and Nelly had an EXCELLENT stay with shawn and his pet loving family. They were very professional to work with, and have a very dog friendly/safe home for the dogs to stay. Their two dogs were great with our little ones, and very well behaved. It was easy to tell our dogs had a great time with them, and we feel at ease leaving our pets in their more then capable hands.”

“Derek knows what he’s talking about when it comes to taking care of dogs. He was happy to watch our young puppy and continue working on the important skills she needs to learn while she was in his care. Would definitely use him again!”

“Sarah and Jason were amazing! We are first timers a little nervous about leaving our little guys, but were quickly put at ease. They sent timely updates and pictures and took great care. Highly recommend!”

“Doyle was great dog sitting Mando. Doyle said that he normally does sit for dogs as large as our 100lb yellow lab but Mando got along great with his little dogs. Doyle sent us numerous photos and updates about how Mando was doing including taking him to the dog park. Doyle was also very flexible with drop off and pick up times (we dropped off Christmas night because we were leaving very early the next morning). Then we came back a day early and we picked up kind of late. We would definitely book with him again!”

“This was my first Rover booking and David made it so easy to feel comfortable leaving my dog with him for the weekend. From scheduling a meet and greet, to the responsive communication, everything was a breeze. My dog made herself at home and had so much fun making new friends, dog ones AND human ones 😊 l will definitely be a repeat customer!!”

“Stacy took wonderful care of our little Havanese, Mika! It was apparent that she loved Mika and took care of her as should would her own dog, Pearl. We felt very comfortable at the meet-and-great. Stacy’s home is set up for the comfort and safety of each dog she cares for. There are gates in the doorways, lots of toys to play with, and a big fenced in area outside to potty and play. We loved getting pictures twice a day along with cute comments about how she was doing. We will never board our Mika with anyone else—Stacy is the absolute best! We can’t say enough good things about her care and love for dogs!”

“Bob is the best! He sent us pictures every day, along with notes about how Charlie was doing. She had been recovering from a soft tissue injury, and he was super careful about making sure she got the rest and recovery she needed. It really made us feel comfortable about leaving her for a week, knowing she was in such good hands.”

“Our dogs, George and Fred, were well cared for at Michelle’s house! We received regular pictures and updates and the boys always looked like they were having a blast! Thank you so much!”

“Angela did such a great job caring for our furry family members while we were out of town! She was prompt with daily communication and we were at ease knowing that they were receiving the care they needed. I would highly recommend her as a sitter, whether at your home or in her own home.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ashland
Therese was outstanding. Molly, (my dog), is a rescue dog and Therese was able to handle her perfectly. Somebody was always around the house so Molly had a person to interact with, plus she was regularly exercised. This is the first time (there were four previous tries with other caretakers) that Molly came back home happy and stress-free. This was due to the Therese's care. I will use her again in the future and recommend her to anybody needing skilled dog care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
