“Bethany made our dog feel right at home. He had a tough first night and Bethany stayed up with him until he fell asleep. She also updated us with pictures throughout the stay which was very kind. Great job, will use her again!”

“Chelsea’s family took amazing care of my dog for the second time, and I couldn’t be happier with their care. They genuinely welcome and embrace my big guy’s chaotic energy, and it’s such a gift knowing he’s safe, happy, and so loved while he’s with them. I’m incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful family to care for him!”

“Coconut loved David and Shelly’s place so much, he looked upset coming home :). David sent us pictures during Coconut’s stay and he looked like he had tons of fun! Thanks so much David and Shelly :)”

“Melissa was incredible. I was so nervous about leaving our two boys (Boston Terriers). We had never left them with anyone but family so this was hard for us. She made our dogs a part of her home, took perfect care of them, sent updates throughout our time away and truly welcomed them as part of her family. She even extended our stay when we unexpectedly got stuck out of town during the Southwest Airline debacle. We truly appreciate her and will definitely be back!”

“Jill was super attentive to my anxious puppy’s needs! The family made him feel comfortable right away and seeing the pictures of how he calmed down over time eased my mind. Thank you for everything!”

“Our experience with Emily was wonderful. Her little girl was an added bonus! They took great care of Gus/Lucy and sent pictures each day to reassure us they were in good hands. This was our first experience with Rover and we couldn't be more happy with it!”
“I am so grateful Andrea and her family were able to watch my pup while I went out of town! They always take the best care of her. They send plenty of updates and pictures and so I feel great knowing she is being well loved and cared for. You guys are the best! Thank you 😊”

“Super nice family and very responsive. A loving vacay for our pup while the humans went on vacation. Would highly recommend having your pup or dog stay with them.”

“Derek was great w/Oso. My little bear 🐻 was very calm before & after I picked him up. Derek kept me updated w/great pics & gave great advice on getting Oso out & about more around people & other dogs. He is still a pup & everything is new still, however I agree with him & appreciate his advice. I will probably book him again 😀.”

“Emily made Ruby’s first stay with her absolutely perfect!!! We got daily updates from her (which our daughter just loved seeing). I would highly suggest Emily the anyone who loves their pet as much as we do. Thank you Emily and family.”

“Our dog had a wonderful time with Danielle and her family over the Christmas holiday! She made him feel right at home ☺️ We would be happy to have him stay there again in the future!!”

“Anja was wonderful with our dog Nyla! Nyla got lots of exercise and loving care when she stayed with Anja. Nyla reportedly behaved well and got along great with Anja’s two dogs. I got pictures and sometimes videos of Nyla’s antics. Although we missed her while we were away, I knew Nyla was I. Good hands with Anja.”

“Sarah and family took such great care of my boys. I was nervous about leaving them, but everyone pitched in to make sure they felt well loved and cared for. It was a great experience.”

“The Dog-Whisperers of Omaha! Doyle and Michael really understand the canine mind and possess the unique ability to comfort our shy puppy and even trained her to walk on a leash while we were gone! Phone calls and texts were replied to immediately and seeing pictures of all the fun places our dogs explored with them allowed us to kick back and relax on our trip knowing our babies were being treated like like family in their pack :)”

“Kelly was so easy to communicate with and very flexible on drop off and pickup times. She sent me photo updates during our trip which was so appreciated. She’s just the nicest person and I’d recommend her to anyone who is looking for a sitter!”

“We have used Emily and her lovely family to care for our senior dog on 2 different occasions and we will not hesitate to reach out again if needed. They have been so flexible and kind both times. I appreciate the great and timely communication. It can be a little nerve wracking leaving an older dog (with some issues) but Emily made us feel very comfortable! 10/10 recommend!”

“Andrea did a wonderful job watching our dog Feyre. She was kind, communicative, and was intentional about making sure Feyre was given the best care! Our pups got along well, and we loved the daily updates she gave us. We will definitely book her again whenever we need someone to watch our girl!”

“Jania and her family are awesome. All the love and security your pet needs for a weekend away. Lots of pictures and messages bring us peace of mind. This was our second time using her. We don’t see ourselves using anyone else.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ashland
Therese was outstanding. Molly, (my dog), is a rescue dog and Therese was able to handle her perfectly. Somebody was always around the house so Molly had a person to interact with, plus she was regularly exercised. This is the first time (there were four previous tries with other caretakers) that Molly came back home happy and stress-free. This was due to the Therese's care. I will use her again in the future and recommend her to anybody needing skilled dog care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
