Mercy was patient and kind with my little guy. She understood that although he’s 82 lbs , he’s still a puppy by age. She was on time, professional and very sweet. We’re looking forward to her helping us with our furry friend.

Eric was quick to reply and genuinely cared about making my dog’s day. He took my Dalmatian on a nice long walk and also played with him in the backyard on both days I booked. Eric was great about keeping me in the loop and making me feel included while I was away, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. He’s an awesome person, clearly loves what he does, and I’ll absolutely be rebooking with Eric.

About: My mission is to provide reliable, attentive care and treat every pet like they’re my own! I have grown up with both cats and dogs, granting me more experience and a deeper love for all animals! I have experience caring for pets of different ages, personalities, and needs, including energetic puppies and senior pets. I work to make pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away by keeping consistent routines, giving plenty of attention, and providing regular updates for peace of mind. I recently just finished my spring semester of school and set to start online summer classes on May 26, so I have plenty of free time to look and care after your furry babies! I care for every pet like they’re my own and always try to keep them comfortable, safe, and on their normal routine. In a client’s home, I make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, walks, feeding, fresh water, and any needed medications while also keeping the home clean and respected.

About: I grew up with pets as part of my family, which taught me from an early age how to care for them with patience, consistency, and respect. Being around dogs and cats my whole life helped me learn how to read their body language, understand their routines, and respond to their individual needs, whether that means playtime, quiet companionship, or extra reassurance. Pet care fits naturally into my routine as I’m currently focusing on personal growth and beginning a new chapter in my life. This gives me wide availability and flexibility to dedicate quality time and attention to pet sitting. I’m able to prioritize consistent visits, unhurried care, and being fully present with each pet, ensuring they receive the attention, comfort, and reliability they deserve. I focus on providing calm, attentive care that keeps pets comfortable in their own environment. In a client’s home, I follow their pet’s established routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and plenty of affection. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and comfort level, making adjustments to ensure they feel safe and at ease while their owner is away. Cleanliness, consistency, and clear communication are important to me, and I treat every home and pet with the same care and respect I would my own.

It was obvious from our meet and greet that she knows how to build trust with dogs, and Fenris has a great time on his walks with her. We would highly recommend her to others!

Kate is awesome! She goes over and beyond just walking and visiting my doggie while I'm at work. For example, she raked the leaves on my front yard because it was getting bad and I was too lazy to do it, haha. She also coordinated with the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition to trap my neighborhood cats, get them fixed, then release them back to the neighborhood. We have lots of cats here, so that really helped control the cat population in the community!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
