“Ms.Loretta and her family are top-notch! I am so happy she was available because she cared for my pups with utmost care and to the tee. Friendly, respectful and with much love & experience, she followed my every instruction and sent me several pics of my happy babies throughout their stay. I am normally a worry-wart but Ms. Loretta (and her hubby) left me feeling at ease with her kindness and attention to detail. I know she will be the first person I contact for future requests!”

“Sarah took great care of my pup. I would trust her anytime to care for her again. She updated me with pictures and re assured me that she was doing just fine. Mu dog even got spoiled with daily walks! If your thinking about considering Sarah to care for your pup, I promise your pup is in good hands.”

“Daniela was wonderful with Buddy! We received updated photos every day, which was such a nice touch. I would definitely recommend her to any pet parent looking for someone trustworthy and caring.”

“Luke and Leia had another great stay with Karen. Thank you for watching them for us. We appreciate all the pictures and walks…. and the great care you take while they are with you.”

“Lasaiah took very good care of our cat Candy!! We knew she was loved on while we were vacationing and didn’t have to worry. Lasaiah picked Candy up and dropped her off without a hitch and Candy is just as loving and sweet as we left her. We’ll definitely book Lasaiah for our next vacation!!!”

“Teddy stayed with Kristen and her family for 10 days and I think it’s safe to say he had a great time. He was happy to see his own family when picked up but was sad to leave her home and actually cried in the car ride home. We received daily pictures of all his adventures and were happy to know he was in great hands while we were away. We will definitely rebook with Kristen on our next getaway.”

“Shelby was great. I really appreciate that she was not fazed by Catalina’s medication or routine. Shelby was understanding of kitty nature and gave them their own time and space. They came back happy to be home but it was also evident that while I was away their routine had been taken care of and they had proper interactions.”

“Pamela was fantastic! She took great care of my dog and kept me updated throughout the day with lots of photos and detailed reports. It was clear my dog was happy and comfortable staying with her. I really appreciated the communication and attention to detail. Highly recommend Pamela and would definitely book with her again!”

“I'd give more than 5 stars if I could!! Tammy was great! We are truly blessed to have met her and to have had her watch our fur babies. We were able to enjoy our time with our family without any worries. She kept us informed of all the fun they were having with pictures and videos. One less worry for us to think about the next time we have to go out of town. Thank you Tammy for all you did for us!”

“Ashley was GREAT! She watched our little Jojo over the holiday break. She shared lots of pictures and was easy to communicate with. I would have zero hesitation about using her again or referring her to others. Thank you ?”

“Juan and his family took excellent care of our dogs while we went away for the weekend. The pictures and videos showed them eating well, having fun, being cuddled, and we were happy to hear our Max was given his meds right on schedule. We highly recommend Juan!”

“Karen was so great! She sent pictures and kept us updated his entire stay with her. Our pup loved his stay and had so much fun. She took the time to get to know him, his likes, and let him enjoy his favorite activities. We will definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend.”

About: Growing up in the Hill Country, my family always had at least 4 pets at any given time. Usually no less than three dogs. I also volunteer at the San Antonio Humane Society when I can! Now, living in the city I don't have a dog of my own and am missing having a furry friend! This is not just a side gig for me but a way to be able to enjoy the company of my favorite furry friends! I'm currently in between work so I can dedicate my full schede to watching over your pets. Ideally, I'd like to find remote work so I can still look over your pets. First and foremost I give lots of love and attention! I have and do volunteer for SAHS and agree with most if not all of their policies on dog care. This means no use of fear, pain, hitting, or similar corrective actions. These behaviors have shown to suppress behavior without actually teaching the dog what you want and can create anxiety and even aggression. Dogs and cats have been a part of my life since I was a baby so I'm pretty familiar with their body language and try to be mindful of their needs. I consider them part of the family and usually treat them as such by ensuring they have a comfortable and pleasant environment. I think establishing a "safe place" for your pets to retreat to when they are feeling anxious is a great way to build strong bonds. My mom's dog, bullet, has one of the worst cases of ADHD I've seen in a dog and when he's feeling overwhelmed by too many guests in the house or strange weather, he likes to disappear deep into my mom's walk in closet.
“Agnes and her family are so sweet. My little Lily had a blast with Daisy. They played together everyday she was with them. I enjoyed the pictures and updates. I definitely recommend Agnes for your furbaby and will be using her again.”

“Anna gave us the best experience as first time rover user's. She not only took the best care of our two fur babies but gave us updates and sent us pictures while we were away. Our dogs were taken care of and treated as her own!”

“What an amazing experience! My fur babies are exactly that MY BABIES. It’s hard to find someone who treat your babies as if they were their own but Kristen did exactly that! So professional and had a great set up for the pups! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.”

Katie was amazing with Bruno! She took great care of him, kept us updated with photos, and was incredibly kind throughout the entire stay. It gave us peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. Bruno came back happy and well cared for. We would definitely book with Katie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Rachel was an amazing sitter for my 2 fire babies! She kept me updated and sent photos and videos of them. They seemed to have a great time. I was a little nervous as I have always had family watch my pets at my house so this was a first for one of my dogs of 7 years. She did great! Highly recommend and have already rebooked with her.

I was impressed with Sydney's operation right from drop off. She had everything squared away to welcome my pups and and minimize any potential issues. She was communicative and answered any and all questions I had in a very prompt manner. I'd recommend her very highly and plan to use her again in the future.

Shelby was great. I really appreciate that she was not fazed by Catalina’s medication or routine. Shelby was understanding of kitty nature and gave them their own time and space. They came back happy to be home but it was also evident that while I was away their routine had been taken care of and they had proper interactions.

We've trusted Kenny with our chihuahua in his calm home environment and the difference is noticeable. The space is clean and low stinulation which helped Mia settle quickly instead of feeling overwhelmed like in larger boarding settings. He is very attentive to each dog energy level and you can tell he prioritizes safety, structure, and a peaceful atmosphere rathen than chaos or overbooking. Ourdog came back relaxed, well cared for, and emotionally balanced. Highly recommend for owners who want a calm, predictable, and safe boarding experience instead of a crowded daycare-style environment.

Alyssa was an absolute gem of a pet sitter! Her location on base at Fort Sam Houston made pickup and drop off incredibly convenient. From the start, she was very responsive and communicative, quickly easing any nerves. She provided frequent updates, complete with adorable photos and videos of my kitten, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Alyssa genuinely cares for animals. My kitty seemed happy, safe, and very well loved during her stay. Everyone in the household was respectful, courteous, and seemed to enjoy having my kitten as much as he enjoyed being there. I highly recommend Alyssa to anyone looking for reliable, loving pet care.

I couldn’t be happier with the care Amber provided for my two dogs! From the moment we met, she was friendly, reliable, and clearly loves animals. She kept me updated throughout the stay with pictures and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind being my first time leaving them. My dogs looked so happy and when I got home — it’s clear they were well taken care of and loved. I highly recommend Amber to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to watch their pets. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
