“Second time's the charm. I really appreciate Brenda's willingness to come out and sit our cats once again. She's very responsible, always sends photos after each appointment, and made sure to inform us any time she changed the water or had to make another purchase fir the cats midway through the period. Will definitely consider her again next time I'm out if town.”

About: I grew up around big dogs my whole life. Shepherds, Huskies, Rottweilers, etc, so I’m very comfortable dealing with big, fun and energetic dogs I currently work from home, so my schedule is very flexible. I can make myself available in the mornings, afternoons and evenings if I am needed. Your pet will always be my priority. I have a German Shepherd who has very particular needs, so I can relate to people who want the best care for their pets.
“Spencer is the real deal and is terrific! His love of animals is clearly evident in his daily interactions and attentiveness. He took the time to ensure that all the care information was clear and provided loving daily care and attention for our two cats. It was also a pleasure to come home and find everything in the same condition we left it. We would highly recommend Spencer’s care and will partner with him again in the future. Thank you again for everything Spencer!”

About: Have had family dogs all my life and my little guy for almost 5 years. I know the amount of work and dedication it takes to give them a happy and full life. I have also pet sit for friends both dogs and cats over the years. My friends know I’m someone they can depend on. I work from home primarily east coast hours so can be flexible in the afternoons/evenings. If your home is close can also work around meetings earlier in the day! I want to make sure your pet has a relaxed and comfortable time with me. I personally get pretty anxious when someone is checking in or taking care of my pet so I will do my best to ease that feeling for others.
About: I had my 16 year old dog Dakota since she was a puppy until she passed away earlier this year and I've fostered multiple senior dogs over the last couple of years for Frosted Faces. I only accept small dogs (under 16lbs) for daycare and boarding, up to 2 dogs a day for daycare and 1 for boarding so you can be sure your dog will get dedicated attention and not be overwhelmed. If this is your first time using rover you can sign up via https://www.rover.com/sit/melant42759 or use promo code MELANT42759 for $20 off your first booking. I work full time from home and my schedule is pretty flexible - I can take breaks as needed to take care of the dogs. I live in a one bedroom apartment, there is no fenced in yard but the door always remains closed. I wouldn't take any dogs out without their collar and leash on. There is a set of stairs to get up to my apartment (~12 steps), I can carry dogs up and down if needed. The apartment itself is one level and I have doggy stairs to get on the couch as well as a gate to keep them in a carpeted area if they need that for balance or anything.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 5 years old and have always loved being around animals. I have experience with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and ages, including puppies and senior dogs. I’m patient, gentle, and always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I pay close attention to routines, feeding schedules, walks, and giving pets the attention they need. I treat every pet like my owm and truly enjoy spending time with them. Pet care fits very naturally into my schedule because I’m currently on summer break and have a very open availability. I do work a part-time job, but I still have plenty of free time throughout the week to give pets lots of attention, walks, playtime, and care. In the fall, I’ll be taking online college classes, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to continue being available for pet sitting and drop-ins. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so caring for pets is something I love making part of my routine. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for whether I’m in my home or a client’s home. I follow each pet’s normal routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions from the owner. I pay close attention to pets at all times and make sure they are in a clean, calm, and safe environment. I also make it a priority to give pets lots of love, patience, and attention so they feel relaxed while their owners are away. I respect clients’ homes, keep everything tidy, and communicate regularly with updates and photos for peace of mind.
About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and grew up in a home where they were truly part of the family. Over the years, friends and family have trusted me to care for their furry loved ones while they’re away, and I take that responsibility seriously. I also have a dog of my own, Lev, a 6-year-old male who has taught me a lot about patience, communication, and positive reinforcement training. Because Lev can be leash reactive, I’m very comfortable reading dog body language and handling walks calmly and safely. Through consistent positive reinforcement, we’ve built successful and enjoyable walks together. I understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and I always aim to create a safe, positive, and fun experience for every pup in my care. I currently WFH full-time! Afternoon/evenings between 3-7pm on weekdays are ideal times for walks and visits. Weekends would vary, but I have pretty open availability in general! My own pup gets at least three walks a day—a long walk first thing in the morning and another before bed, plus a midday walk for some relief and fresh air. We often go on other adventures, including the beach and the dog park, but this our typical schedule. Because of this routine, I’m very accustomed to walking during high dog-traffic times and always prioritize safe, attentive handling. I stay aware of our surroundings, read dog body language, and use positive reinforcement to keep walks calm, structured, and enjoyable for every pup.
“Nancy was amazing! She kept me updated with pictures of my pet and followed feeding and playtime instructions like we had talked about in the meet and greet. She was also respectful of my home. Will definitely consider booking her again in the future!”

About: I have had parrots, dogs and rats. I have been walking and pet sitting for family and friends for a few years. My friends know to come to me because I love animals very much and give them special attentive care. I really enjoy playing and running with dogs and can match their energy 💪🏃♀️ I also like to send photo updates. I’m located in Normal Heights and very close to Kensington. If there is no free parking available near your home I ask that you please provide the parking meter fee if necessary. I am available and dedicated to creating the time to prioritize rover currently. Thankfully my studying and other work is flexible and also at my own schedule. I make sure to follow directions carefully and intently for whatever specific needs are required for your animals. I understand how important your pets safety is to you and will try hard to make you both as happy as possible.
“First experience with Kirsten was very pleasant and professional. She is detail oriented and made sure she understood the care instructions. She is great at communicating throughout the entire booking. I felt more at ease with the pictures and detailed notes she left after every visit. I will definitely rebook her again!”

“Our dog Ozzy is sometimes nervous and reactive with new people but Bianca put him at ease right away. You can tell she is simpatico with dogs and both of ours love her. Also, she saved our butts today by being so flexible and doing a last minute check in for us. 5 stars all the way!”

About: My friends and neighbors count on me to check on and sit their animals, and I regularly walk my own pups with their neighborhood furry friends. I grew up with Rottweilers, and have embraced small dogs in recent years. I'm 6ft and 200lbs, and am comfortable with a variety of sizes of dogs. I currently have total flexibility in my schedule and am happy to help with pet care throughout the day. I'm just getting started on Rover, but I've been a dedicated pet parent for almost a decade and love the way it enriches my life. I'd be happy to extend the same level of care and understanding I give to my own pets to yours. I live with my two pups in a small condo complex, where I have an enclosed back patio and immediate access to a very walkable neighborhood. I am comfortable entering friends' homes and allowing the animals to acclimate at their own pace, and am just as happy taking pets for walks as I am keeping them company in their own homes.

About: Hi, I'm Nic! I've been taking care of dogs ever since we adopted our first family dog Auggie over 20 years ago. He and other dogs I've watched had aggression issues so I know how to stay out of trouble. I'm strong enough to handle multiple medium-to-large dogs at a time and fit enough to take them on long walks or runs. I helped out my mom a lot last year with our second family dog Yogi who struggled with incontinence, mobility, and pain. I still miss him but realized after watching my friend's elderly dogs that I'm ready to connect with some more great animals! I work full-time but I'm remote and not overworked so I have flexibility in terms of schedule. I'm generally available to do walks/check-ins around noon or in the evening and can also have animals stay with me in my apartment during the day or overnight. I have an apartment on the second floor of a small complex and there is no elevator so I likely cannot accommodate larger dogs with mobility issues. My complex and apartment are pretty quiet and theres is a park with two dog runs only two blocks away. On weekdays I only leave the apartment for about two hours so I can keep a close eye on any dogs that need extra supervision. I'm very respectful of other people's homes and know that many animals will need time to warm up to me. I try to give animals as much space as they need but also keep an eye out for when they're in need of some stimulation.
About: I grew up in a small town in Washington with many dogs, cats and horses. Animals were just as much a part of the family as we were. While I have two cats, I miss having the company of dogs so I love to Rover!! I am comfortable with all breeds, personalities, health issues, etc! I’m currently working from home so I have plenty of time to be flexible and take care of your pet! I’m also new to the San Diego area so I love a reason to check out a new part with your dog! I do have two cats, so please let me know if you don’t know if your dog is good with cats and we can schedule a meet and greet! Because I work from home I’m able to accommodate just about everything. I have two cats who like dogs, especially old dogs! I have a very tidy clean house and your dog will be treated like family with me.
“Jazmin is amazing. She had excellent communication before and after visits with my kitty. She took photos and wrote the most detailed and sweet notes after each stay. I knew my kitty was safe in her care which gives me so much peace of mind. I’ll definitely be using her again in the future! Thanks so much!”

About: I first started taking care of animals when I was 12 years old. It started with my neighbors dog, cat and two birds. From there my love for taking care of animals and providing excellent service blossomed into me working for a dog rescue group where I would foster and help rehabilitate abused dogs in my home through an adoption agency so they could eventually go and be apart of a new, permanent home. I’ve pet sat for friends, family members and have even received referrals through an online platform i am apart of on Facebook. I’ve watched animals ranging from dogs, cats, Guinea pigs and reptiles! I am a very reliable individual who understand the love we have for our pets and I only want to go above and beyond to achieve that and make the experience as easy as possible for you and your pets. I currently have open availability and a very flexible schedule to care for your animal(s) as I do rover full time and can be available pretty much whenever I care for your pets in your home and will care for them however your heart desires. I’ve crated, baby gated, and have animals free roam. I understand everyone has a preference and some dogs have separation anxiety so I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make the transition as easy as possible for your fur babies

I’ve trained as an advanced dog walker with a shelter in Washington state as well as taken professional training with my own dogs, a large German shepherd and active husky. I WFH full time with some flexibility to my schedule, and I am hopping on here in the hopes that I can help some of you who have to travel daily to work, letting your dogs out mid day if you cannot personally be home, or drop in while on vacation to check in on your guys and gals. I WFH full time with a somewhat flexible schedule so if you are in the Normal Heights/North Park area I can work with you to meet your dog or cats daily needs I can provide your pet with whatever treats they like for their adventures and get them all suited up with collars/leashes/harnesses you usually utilize for walks. We have strict feeding schedules at home as well as medications that we have to dispense daily, so this is something I can also provide if necessary, just let me know what you need!
Kensington pet parents share their Rover experiences
Sarah did an amazing job with my 1.5 year old lab puppy while I was gone on a work trip. Sent thorough updates, pictures, videos, and strong comms on both days after every drop-in. She even practiced the commands my dog knows to keep her mind occupied on top of playing with her. Will def be re-booking Sarah in the future.

Evelyn is an amazing dog sitter and human being! Extremely thorough, great communicator, and very gentle with my dog Charger. Her communication and photos made me feel comfortable on my work trip, which I appreciated so much! I will definitely be using her again!
I’m so sad that I just found Christine and I’m moving in a month. Have been searching for someone as sweet and caring as her for so long. She constantly updated me, and sent the cutest photos. Felt so relieved all week knowing that my little babies were in her hands. Can’t recommend her enough ❤️

I cannot recommend her enough! She took exceptional care of my cat and went above and beyond to make sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for while I was away. She is incredibly caring and my cat absolutely adored her. She was flexible, reliable, and trustworthy, and she kept me updated regularly with messages and photos so I always knew how my cat was doing. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my cat was in such great hands.

We hired Alyssa for our two shy kitties pretty last minute for a two week trip out of the country. She did a phenomenal job keeping us updated with Rover Cards and reaching out if she needed anything, so we could really enjoy our trip. Our normally very shy cats warmed up to her really quickly, so it put us even more at ease. Would hire her again in a heartbeat!
