“I felt really comfortable leaving my pets and home with Jackie. My pets get really sad when I leave and I knew they were in good hands the moment they met her. I’m happy to have found a pet sitter like Jackie where my pets can build a relationship with someone for when I travel for work and will be booking again right away!”

“Excellent! The house was in perfect order, the pets were happy, and instructions were followed. Marideth sent pics of our dog which made us feel that our place was in good hands. Other then my dog is more spoiled she was great!”

About: I have experience caring for both cats and dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. From energetic puppies who need plenty of play and structure to senior pets who require extra patience and gentle care, I understand that every animal has unique needs and deserves individualized attention. I've cared for a variety of breeds and temperaments, and I'm comfortable following specific routines, administering detailed care instructions, and making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their families are away. I also have experience caring for pets with disabilities and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and adapting to each pet's individual needs. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply a calm, reassuring presence, I'll provide dependable, compassionate care and treat them as if they were my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in caring, capable hands. I'm currently seeking a full-time position, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping your pet company, I can provide consistent, reliable care throughout the day. I'm committed to accommodating your pet's routine and will communicate with you regularly to ensure you have peace of mind while you're away. I care for pets in the comfort of their own home, where they can stay in a familiar environment and maintain their normal routine. Before each visit, I take the time to understand your pet's schedule, personality, and any special care instructions so I can provide the best possible care. During visits, I make sure your pet has fresh food and water, plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship. I'm happy to accommodate each pet's individual needs, whether that means a long walk, extra cuddle time, or a slower pace for senior or special-needs pets. I also keep litter boxes clean, clean up after pets, and make sure your home is left just as I found it. Communication is important to me, so I'll send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away.
About: I do not have a pet on my own due to my frequent travel schedule but that only means that your pet will get that extra love I have to share. I am caring and attentive, I notice the little things—each pet’s quirks, moods, and routines—and respond with patience. Your little or big friend will not get bored while in my care. I am a drafter working for an architectural company in Cheektowaga, my schedule is 8-5 every weekday. I love long walks after work in the evening, so don’t hesitate to shoot me a message even if the walk is needed within an hour! I will do my best to comfort your pet while you are away, I can play and train them, go on long walks, also if needed I can take a dog to a dog park or to vet appontments.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats, young and senior for 25+ years. Your pet will be family to me. And will be loved and cared for very well. In addition, I’m neat and clean. You’re home will also be well cared for. I’m presently not working. So, I will be with your pet 24/7. I like to snuggle with my pets and hope your pet will enjoy snuggling with me. I LOVE dogs and cats! Your pet will be treated as if my own. Walks and snuggles and snacks (if you permit) will be plentiful. I’m a low key, quiet person. So your pet does not have to be fearful of me.
About: Ive had three cats and two dogs in my life. Currently I have two cats and they are my world. In many instances I've had a cat or dog that doesn't like anyone besides family come up and become my new best friend. Also have been trusted to watch multiple friends animals while on vacation because they loved our time together more than anyone else. During the week it would be a drop in sitting with minimal overnight stays after work. Which means its not out the question but not consistent. Weekends I have more flexibility for overnight stays. My cats are indoors, fed a heathly diet, and stimulated. While at the clients house its dependent on the type of animal and if the animal requires special care.
“Very happy that I found Dawn who was willing to house sit my three cats. The two females do not get along well, they pretty much tolerate each other. Then my male cat has thyroid issues and needs a topical med applied to his inner ear twice a day. Dawn was good about sitting with my cats at night and cuddling with them. I know my cats were pretty happy having the company.”

“Kendra was excellent, very communicative and flexible, and she took great care of my pup Moose! I would gladly have her watch Moose again the next time I am out of town.”

“Maria is reliable, communicates clearly and often, and noted all the details we had left her to care for our pups. She handled them with care and learned each one’s nuances. The transition back home after our extended vacation was smooth and our pups were in step with their regular routine. We would highly recommend Maria to anyone!”

“Ciara was amazing, took her care of my cats and my dog who is a bit high maintenance. Upgraded me all the time and made me feel so comfortable and happy that I used rover to have Ciara stay at my house. My dog would have been so unhappy being boarded.”

“Haley did amazing with our baby, kept us up to date with how things were and when she got there and when she left..very responsive and dependable. Will definitely be using her again :)”

About: As a lifetime pet owner, until recently, I have owned dogs for all of my life, and I’ve gone above and beyond in the care of my pets and their needs. I had my last dog from when I was in 6th grade all the way until I was a Junior in college. Through this time, I watched him develop from a puppy to a senior dog with senior needs, including strenuous lifting and even diaper changes. I am willing to go to the same lengths when caring for your beloved pets! Throughout my life, I’ve also helped my friends care for their dogs and pets. I understand the bond between an owner and their pets, and the sacred nature of letting someone else take care of them, even for a short period of time. I am currently pursuing an online Master's Degree through SUNY Oswego, and I am relatively free for the time being. I could fit your care needs into any of my days. With experience in caring for pups and cats, I can pretty much do anything you would need me to do in your home, from feeding, to walking, to crating, to keeping them excited and entertained.
“Forest is a great sitter for our pets. We were fostering a dog last minute and Forest was able to take that on unexpectedly. He was super patient with a dog that was totally new to us and pretty fearful. He sends lots of updates and pictures. We appreciated his help tons!”

“Timothy was great! Very nice and easy to communicate with. Took care of our two large dogs and was able to give them their medicine as prescribed. Gave us peace of mind while we were out of town that our animals and house were well taken care of. He left the house in a cleaner state than when we left which is hard to do with a shedding husky. We will be using him again whenever we’re out of town.”

“I found Izzy at the perfect time. We needed a last minute sitter and she made me feel so comfortable leaving my dog with her. She sent us awesome updates and loved on our sometimes selective pup. You could tell he felt so safe with her and we were able to relax knowing he was in good hands. Already telling everyone I know to book with Izzy!”

Amanda is amazing!!! She takes such wonderful care of our dogs while we’re gone (and our house), and provides regular updates with pictures so you know everything is going well. As a repeat customer already, will absolutely use her again. Thank you so much Amanda!

Jennifer did a great job taking care of our 2 senior dogs, she followed all my directions and gave my pups extra attention !! This was our first time using rover and and so glad we found a trustworthy person definitely recommend Jennifer for taking care of your animals 😊

Izzy took great care of my boy and the house. She goes above and beyond and really loves animals... You can just tell. I appreciated all the picture updates and made me happy to see that he was being cared for because it's so hard to leave him when we have to go away. I highly recommend Izzy for any of your pet's needs. She's amazing!.

Amanda was wonderful. It was my first time using Rover and she put my mind at ease. She came over, met the dogs before housesitting. The dogs looked really happy in the picture she sent - even my skeptical dog had her tongue hanging out. Already booked Amanda again!

Bri was wonderful with our senior dog. As our dog has gotten older, it has become trickier to find someone we trust to leave her with— anxiety inducing for both us and the dog! But we felt great leaving her with Bri and came home to a very happy pup. Bri was very communicative and gave us lots of updates. We look forward to booking with her again!

We couldn't have asked for a better person to watch Dug at the house as we travelled this past weekend. From the meet and greet to the end of stay, Amy was a true gem. She contacted us upon arrival at the house, kept us informed throughout the 2 days with text messages and pictures, and cleaned up the house before leaving. Coming home to a happy dog and a clean house was very much appreciated. I would give Amy a 5+ Star rating if it went higher.

Christina was wonderful! She was very responsive, arrived on time, and was so great with Bruce! She has a lot of experience with dog/house sitting and I felt very comfortable leaving Bruce in her hands. Will definitely be using Christina again in the future. Thank you!!!

Alexis is amazing! We were in town for our wedding and needed a sitter last minute. She came through and even went out of her way to travel a little further outside of her area to help us out with our girls! They loved her right away. She kept us updated with pics. Would definitely reach out again if we ever are in town and need a sitter! Thank you so much for everything!! -Rachael and Ben

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kenmore walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kenmore maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kenmore choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
