About: I lived on a 5 acre farm in another state and moved to Miami to pursue my education. I owned all kinds of animals from dogs, cats, fish, birds, and reptiles and loved every minute of it. I have hand raised dogs ranging from Chihuahuas to German Shepherds in size and from puppies to senior dogs, hand feeding them if feeding was difficult and administering medicine to my aging dogs or for glaucoma. My husband works from home so if I ever need help or if I step out, he will watch the pet in my stead. I’m currently pursuing my education at UMiami, and have a very flexible schedule. My favorite routine is taking evening walks with my husband around our neighborhood, which I would love to do with your pets! I will always treat a clients pet like my own. I have always had a passion for animals, even wanting to pursue veterinary medicine and would translate that care to the owner’s pets.
“I had such a great experience with Paula. She took amazing care of my dog and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. She was very communicative throughout the day, always open to my questions and concerns, and made sure to send plenty of cute pictures. My pup came home happy, tired, and clearly had a fun day. It’s such a relief knowing I can trust someone who treats my dog like their own. Highly recommend!”

About: Hey there! I’m Mac, and I’ve been taking care of dogs for about 20+ years. I’ve worked with all kinds of dogs, from energetic puppies to older ones that need a little extra attention. I genuinely love spending time with dogs, whether that’s taking them for walks, making sure they’re fed and comfy, or just hanging out and giving them all the belly rubs they deserve! I know how important it is to feel like your dog is safe and happy while you’re away, so I’m here to ensure that your babies are in a loving home. You can trust me to treat your pup like they’re my own, and can relax knowing they’re in good hands. Also, it says I have 4 dogs at home. I only have 3. I just haven’t deleted the profile of my late baby Sterling. I work from home so I will not have any distractions except for loving and attending to your baby. I have three dogs of my own and they are very social! I live in a house with a big back yard. I have 3 english bulldogs of my own. I frequently volunteer and foster dogs in our spare time. I lost my English Bulldog to cancer last March and am very familiar with handling any sort of medical care due to the medical care I had to administer to him. Truly dogs are what make me happiest.
“Olga was great with Charlie. She sent a video when he had a breathing episode (common with his breed) to make sure he was OK and quickly informed us all was well once he caught his breath. She communicated very quickly and throughout the day with updates and photos. Would highly recommend!”

“Shirley was great with Teddy. I will use her service again. She is very knowledgeable of the patterns and needs of dogs and very sweet and kind. Wonderful first experience.”

About: I naturally treat every pet like my own family, and that’s exactly how I’ll care for your pet when you’re away. I’m the person who stops to say hi to every dog and cat on the street, and for as long as I can remember, animals have been my happiest place. I’ve always felt a special connection with all kinds of animals, and being around them isn’t just one of my favorite things in the world—it’s a big part of who I am. When I’m with your fur baby, they get all my love and attention. I have years of experience with puppies, adult dogs, seniors, and cats, and I tailor care to their energy level and routine. I’m basically the fun aunt who spoils them (within your rules!) with cuddles, playtime, and lots of reassurance. You’ll get regular updates and photos, and your pet will get the safe, happy, and affectionate care they deserve. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate time every morning and afternoon to pet care. I can adapt easily to each pet’s needs, from walks to medication reminders, and I’m available on weekends for longer stays. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, my priority is always to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. In a client’s home, I carefully follow instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, litter box cleaning, and any special needs like medications. I also provide extra care for senior pets who need a gentle and patient routine. I make sure to spend quality time with each pet—playing, cuddling, or simply keeping them company depending on their personality. Owners can always count on daily photo and video updates for peace of mind. When pets are with me in my own home, I create a cozy, pet-friendly environment with fresh water, attention, and a safe space. I keep their routines as close as possible to what they’re used to, so they remain secure and relaxed while their family is away.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
