“Liam is a great, trustworthy walker. My dog’s temperament has improved since he started walking with him. Liam is great at taking pictures that I adore, and keeping a detailed log of the walk so it feels like I don’t miss out on anything. In fact, I really look forward to those reviews while I’m at work missing my fur baby! Definitely going to rebook.”

“Callie did a fantastic job taking my dog out for walks this week! She is friendly and easy to communicate with, engaging and caring toward my pup, and I would absolutely reach out to her again for pet care.”

“Annika is fantastic with Molly! Molly is transitioning from living in the countryside to living in town and is very apprehensive when it comes to vehicles and people. Annika is patient with Molly and is helping her adjust to our new neighbourhood.”

About: I’ve been tasked with caring for family dogs including walks since I was 10, ranging in size from little chihuahuas to large golden doodles. I have ample experience with pets that have specific dietary needs and medications. I know how to handle reactive dogs on walks, keeping them and others safe even in high stress moments. I live in Jefferson Chalmers and work part time, so I can accommodate your schedule. I’m in north Detroit and South Oakland & Macomb county frequently as well. I am happy to follow access instructions and care for your pets from the comfort of their home. Upon the first meeting, I make myself quiet and comfortable in a pet’s home so they are in charge of our meet and interaction. Between shy cats and reactive dogs, I’ve learned how to foster safe environments for all kind of pets. I hope to build relationships with pets so you can have more peace of mind leaving them in my care!

“Jack was great! Super flexible and so helpful in a pinch, and took such good care of our Luna!”

About: Almost all of my experience as a dog owner and sitter is with dogs that have come from shelters or other adopted situations. I have owned “retired” greyhounds that were severely traumatized, I have cared for small dogs with unknown, but clearly extremely difficult, past traumas, and I have stayed and bonded with boxers and pit bulls who are slow to trust but then become bed-hogging cuddlers! Recently, I had my first experience helping train a puppy! I spent five months with a family and their sweet cavipoo house training and leash training. I teach from home and so I am always home! Well, except for the occasional errand, appointment, etc. So, I would love the extra company and the excuse to get out of the house and get some exercise! I live in an apartment building so I do not have a fenced yard. However, I live on Lafayette Park where I walk daily. It is incredibly safe and I have gotten to know many of the pet parents in the building and the neighborhood. I have two five month old kittens that I adopted from a foster home two months ago where they lived with a dog. I am hoping to keep them exposed to other animals so that when I have a larger place, I will be able to expand my family of pets.

“Alex is friendly, kind, responsive, and responsible. He quickly got back to me about a last minute dog walk, and also handled our overly excited puppy with ease.”

About: Hi! I’m new to the area and looking forward to getting to know it (and your pups!) through dog walking. I have previous dog walking and pet sitting experience in Washington DC and Tennessee, and have had dogs all my life, ranging from ~5 pounds to over 150. I’ve recently relocated to the area, and I love hanging out with dogs and being outside with them. I’m hoping to fill my days until my job starts in August and continue walking on a part time basis after then. My number one priority is your dog(s)’ safety and comfort. Whether you’re looking for a once off or a steady dog walker, I look forward to meeting and working with your dog to make sure they are relaxed, well taken care of, and with someone they can trust.

“Excellent with communication and very understanding and patient with younger dogs! Will be booking again!”

About: Hi! Thanks for considering me to take care of your pup! My dog, Penelope, and I love to be outside, go on new adventures, and meet new friends, both human and fur babies! I have had dogs my entire life, and recently got a cat to add to our family. I know how hard it is to trust a stranger with your fur baby, so I’m available for meet and greets before I take your pup. My 3 year old dog Penelope is high energy and super friendly, and loves a good play! I’ve cared for dogs ranging from 8 weeks to 16 years. Again, thanks for considering me and I look forward to meeting you and your pup! I’m currently a student at the University of Windsor and have a schedule flexible to meet a variety of care needs. My availability is different day to day, week to week. I’m happy to flex where I can to meet your needs. In your home, I am happy to accommodate for however you prefer your pet to be cared for. I have experience with crate training. On walks, I am happy to use leash, harness, or whatever your preference is.

“Erika has been our weekly walker for a few months and takes such good care of my girl, mini! Mini always comes back tired and happy and I know they’ve had a great time together, even though mini can be a bit difficult to walk at times!”

About: I've watching and walking dogs for people for many years now. Patient, gentle and capable. Happy to get some exercise and face time with your buddy. They'll be treated how I would want someone to treat Candi. (My buddy) I recently took a severance at my full time job and have a fairly open and flexible schedule. Looking to do something more part time until well after the birth of my firstborn in the fall to be there for my girlfriend as much as possible. I will primarily be providing a good, long walk for your buddy and feeding them to their needs/your preferences. Open to potentially taking on other responsibilities for them if demand and schedules allow.

About: I'm a young professional that works from home and have some extra free time and LOVE caring for dogs. So this is the perfect opportunity for me and I have 10+ years of experience caring for dogs on Rover, after graduating from undergrad I took up dog sitting and I have watched homes and pets while family is out of town since then. I am very flexible and reliable and would have a great time with your pet! Why I love dog sitting: I had a dog who I was extremely close with and since his passing I miss a dog's companionship. Because of school and work I'm not able to take care of a dog full time so in the meantime I would love to keep yours company! I’m currently working from home and on my own schedule so I have plenty of time to take your pup on walks and give them lots of attention! How I care for pets varies on the individual pup or cat. Every one of them have their own special needs so I will be sure to be informed and have notes on the stay before booking.

“Got back to me super quickly on short notice, took my Ophie got a wonderful walk (and took the cutest pictures ?). Will definitely be asking for help from Mary Grace again! ??”

About: Growing up, my mom was allergic to both dogs and cats so most of my pet care experience has been in my adult life. I got my own cat nearly three years ago and have cared for friends pets (walks, feed, play) over the years whenever they need an extra hand. Since I didn't grow up around pets, I have a huge appreciation and excitement for meeting new creatures. I am a clinical social worker and keep hours outside of the typical 9-5. This means I have flexibility in my schedule that other members of the workforce typically don't and I would love to use it to get to know some creatures! My apartment complex does not allow dogs, so I cannot dogsit. If I were to be caring for a dog in your home, then I would be sure to have open lines of communication before, during and after the care. I would arrive with energy to play and attentiveness to your pet's schedule.

About: I have a tendency to treat all animals as my own, and give them the utmost love and care. Not only do animals benefit from my care, but what I get back in return from animals is just as important. I grew up constantly being around pets, and grew up with dogs. I raised two dogs on my own and they now live with my parents so I currently have no pets, which has left a little hole in my heart! I have a loving home on the third floor of apartment building, where there is much room to play and lounge. I have a fenced-in backyard where there is even more room for fun. There are many areas we can go for walks, and also a dog park just down the street. I am also working from home so have a lot of time to devote to dogs.

“Liz W. loves animals. She cared for our boxer for two weeks during the dog flu pandemic a year and a half ago when we were advised not to board him. We had the trip planned prior to our adoption of Chance. Liz to the rescue!! She took great care of our home and Chance. Occasionally she will call to say hi and Chance goes nuts when he hears her voice.”

I've seen her out in the neighborhood with other dogs as well, it it seems like she has a great relationship with all of them. I highly recommend Mariesa to care for/spend time with you pup!”
Joseph Barry dog parents share their Rover experiences
A good human at the ready to help. Took good care of my frog and plants when away for awhile. Was easy to extend care with with trip plans changed. Even graciously helped with a bulb change on a burn out.

Megan was quick to reply to my request and very accommodating. My pup loved the time they spent together and I highly recommend her

Faith has been excellent. She loves my fur baby and is super attentive. She communicates any issues or concerns in a timely manner and really makes me feel secure leaving my baby at home.

Callie did a fantastic job taking my dog out for walks this week! She is friendly and easy to communicate with, engaging and caring toward my pup, and I would absolutely reach out to her again for pet care.

Mya is wonderful! My dog is elderly in a hospice situation so I could not comfortably put him in a new situation during my trip to my son's graduation out of state. My option was to have someone come to our home daily and take care of Eli and the unfortunately not many friends or family can accommodate that schedule. Mya took great care of him and made sure he was safe and well-cared for taking him on walks and providing me visit updates. I'm sure he misses her already! Highly recommend her for senior in-home care which we all know is a challenge!
