About: Hello! My name is Avery ..... I have had dogs all throughout my life and plan to keep it that way! As a kid I grew up with with two beagles, a chocolate lab, a pit bull, and most recently a rescue shar pei/ lab mix. I love seeing every animals personality shine through and spoiling them with love and attention. Each one of my dogs has loved the outdoors (almost as much as me) and had lives full of adventure and exercise. I have also lived with cats and love them (through my previous roommate). I love animals of all breeds and sizes and would love the chance to meet yours! I am a current student so my schedule is semi flexible at the moment. I’m attentive, reliable, and very communicative, and I make sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I follow feeding schedules closely, provide walks and potty breaks as instructed, administer medication when needed, and crate pets if requested. I aim to keep each pet’s routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I have open availability and keep my calendar updated regularly. For longer or extended care needs, I appreciate 12–24 hours’ notice so I can plan accordingly. On Mondays and Wednesdays, my evenings are limited, but I’m available mornings and afternoons on those days. I’m otherwise flexible and happy to coordinate to make sure your pet’s needs are fully covered. I will make sure they are fed in a timely manner and they take their medications if needed. About: *We currently have one foster dog in our back room, completely gated hallway with a closed door. We have had many fosters and clients who are pet-reactive and have found this to be a perfect set up for separation. This particular foster is 14, very small, blind, and deaf, so she sleeps most of the day and doesn’t bark. Your pet will likely not know she is in the house. Hello there, My name is Karen / but not 'a Karen,' I swear. I volunteer walking dogs at the local shelter so am comfortable with pretty much all pets (but we do live in an apartment so please see bottom section for ones we cannot care for). We have fostered everything from energetic puppies to FIV+ cats, couch potatoes to zoomie kings-and-queens. Seniors and animals who need lots of affection are our specialties! We have no resident pets. Fosters come and go and will be noted on the top line if current residing. I am not regularly working because of some health issues, so there is a ton of flexibility in my schedule and in our home. If I'm not around, my boyfriend Dave usually is: sometimes he might be the one caring for and walking your pet, or meeting up with you for pick up/drop off. Once in a while, I work 8 hour shifts on weekends, but he is home during that. After doing Rover for a few months, we realized that Dave ends up doing quite a bit! Please know that even though you'll mostly be messaging me through the app, he will play a very big part in the pet-sitting. Between the two of us, your pet will not be alone much at all while boarding. We also have lots of toys, beds, a crate, and snacks, so all you’ll have to bring is food. To me, there is no point in having a pet unless you're going to spoil them. I will do everything possible to make sure your loved one isn't missing you too much. There are a few pets we’re unable to take. Our apartment can be noisy with people outside, neighbors coming in and out, etc…If your dog is nervous and fearful, those noises can exacerbate that in an already strange situation/new place for them. We also want to be respectful of our neighbors so cannot take loud, constant barking. A normal amount is expected : ) Because we have so many furry friends coming and going, we now require vaccination records and proof of purchase for flea meds before your first visit. I typically do photos and updates once in the evening around 7:00 or 8:00 but can do more or less if you’d like! I tend to be a yapper so try to limit myself to just once haha Generally, I just am very loving to all creatures. I volunteer a lot and am used to many, many kinds of animals. I live in a loft, so that can be confusing sometimes for dogs who are used to going potty in a yard (leashed potty break on a city street and puppy pads are what typically do here), but there is plenty of space to run around in the loft because it is one open space, so playtime is not an issue.

About: My name is Ariel! I’m an attentive and responsible pet lover residing in Midtown Detroit. I am a registered nurse with an extremely flexible schedule. My partner and I currently have 2 cats. I have previously adopted and fostered dogs and have volunteer experience walking dogs in the shelter setting. I have years of experience caring for the pets of friends, family, and neighbors, and I am coming up on a year of experience using rover. About: I have grown up with animals and I volunteer at an animal care center. I have some experience giving animals medication if they need it as well :) I do work 30 hours a week, however I am still pretty flexible and open since my work schedule is not the same every week I’ll make sure their needs are met and they are loved! About: I have taken care of various types of dog babies across many states. I learn quickly about what a dog needs especially when factoring in weather. I work from home most days and run in the evening. Usually long distance runs are in the morning so not inconvenient for night stays. For my home, I have a very spacious dog park and closed in balcony. Also live close to the riverwalk for night walks. There is space in home for medium sized crates if necessary.

About: I've been around dogs my whole life, my parents raised seeing eye dogs, and I helped with training and daily care from a young age. In my teens, I helped my mom run a small dog-boarding business out of our home, so I'm used to dogs with all kinds of temperaments and routines. Over the years, I've often been the go-to friend for dogs that need a little extra patience or understanding, whether that's a shy senior or a high-energy handful. I recently lost my own pup, and while l'm not ready for another full-time, I miss having a dog around and love being able to offer that care and attention to someone else's. I'm currently working on fixing up my very old duplex so I'm home, tinkering around most of the time, and my schedule is flexible. If you're worried about your pet being in a construction zone, not to worry! The living area is safe and segmented from anything that might be hazardous yet intriguing to your pet. I have a partially fenced yard, perfect for supervised play. Living in midtown means that there's plenty of interesting things to smell along walks. I can crate your dog if needed, and you're welcome to bring their own if that makes them most comfortable. I have quite a few house plants in my space, so please let me know if your pup is prone to chewing on them and I will move them out of the way for their visit.

About: CCS Grad Student based West Village. Grew up in a Shitzu home, but I only get to see her on weekends. However, I've been taking care of small dogs and pet-sitting dogs and cats for fam/friends for the last 4 years. I'm a full-time grad student, so aside from evening or afternoon classes, I'm flexible. Morning and/or Evening walking + feeding schedules are no issue. I’m a morning person! I've cared for pets in my own home or their own, and my primary focus is always making sure they are comfortable. Usually, that means trying my best to follow their normal routines.

About: I am a former teacher and I love dogs as much as I love kids. Dogs are creatures who need attention, affection and lots of kisses! I live in the heart of Downtown Detroit and is walking distance from Comerica Park, Ford Field, Campus Martius Park, Fox Theater, The Filmore & Little Caesars Arena. I live in the heart of downtown Detroit and I enjoy walking my dog several times a day. We go to the doggie parks that are in close proximity to the apartment, and we have a dog park at my apartment complex that’s great for meet and greets with other dogs. I would care for pets in someone else’s home by respecting the area in which the dog is most comfortable meaning changing pee, pee pads, making sure their food and water bowls are full. And I will make sure that their dog is treated as if the owner were at home with lots of belly rubs. I care for my dog in my home the same way I make sure it’s a clean environment a safe environment, where my dog feels comfortable.
