“Lulu and I met Ji and there was an instantly connection. As she had never met Ji and was in a different environment, Lulu seemed content. Ji kept me updated on Lulu’s adjustment, which stated was going well. I truly appreciate Ji being able to take care of Lulu on such a short notice. Hopefully in the future if needs arrives Ji will be able to take care of Lulu again.”

“Argento loves staying with Jacqueline. She treats him as family. I will use her services whenever I need them. Happy knowing my boy is safe and well taken care of.”

“Margarita, Raymond and Ruby were wonderful!! They were available at a last minute notice, very accommodating, welcoming, and understanding. They treated Rosie like family. They send daily pics and videos. They feed Rosie some of their food when my brother forgot to bring Rosie’s food. Will definitely use them again! Thanks guys!!!”

“Holly and DK have been great so far with our (sometimes needy) corgi Moose! Moose has been to daycare a few times and stayed overnight for a long weekend and he seems to enjoy and come home happy. Holly & DK are a lovely young couple who communicate quickly and thoroughly, are flexible about pick up/drop off times, and always send us a handful of cute pictures. We've also noticed they go above and beyond to return food bowls, kongs, and blankets back cleanly. We're happy we found them and look forward to having Moose stay with them in the future!”

“Great communication and dog sitters. They watched our dog and sent us updates with photos every day. Our dog loves kids and their little one even cuddled with her (aw). Would highly recommend and use them again!”

About: I love animals and have experience working with and sitting for a wide range of them, including dogs, cats, and small or exotic animals. I myself have owned over twenty parrots (currently have two in the aviary!) and have extensive experience with fishkeeping — I have four cycled, walstad fish and shrimp tanks! I can walk your dog, clean your cat’s litter box, and even do water changes for your fish if needed! Anything to make sure your little guys are well cared for! I’m a graduate student who will be free over the summer, so my schedule is flexible until late August. I can make myself and my home available as needed. I live in a townhome that features a large, lush, and open neighborhood to walk your dogs in. My home has two floors; the first floor is where your pet will stay. When your pet is in my home, they are treated like members of my family. They will be fed, walked, and enriched on your schedule, and will be allowed to sit on the couch and even sleep in my bed at nights if comfortable. I take great care to ensure that your pet’s stay is comfortable and fun-filled. In my home, I currently have two budgies in a large cage and two betta fish, each in 5-10 gallon tanks. The parrots are allowed to free fly for most of the day, but they will be put away or kept caged when your pets are being boarded. When I am in your home, I cultivate the utmost respect. I try not to disturb or move anything that’s not necessary. I’ll make use of only what’s given to me with regards to caring for your pet, and leave everything else exactly how I found it.
“Mary has took a great care of my cat and dog while I was away for many weeks. They’ve been happy and I could also feel relieved knowing my babies are in good hands! Thank you Mary!”

“Cynthia took excellent care of my senior beagle. She sent many photos of Stewart, he always looked happy and well cared for. He received all the love and attention he needed; he was happy being the only dog in the house. My return flight was cancelled and Cynthia was willing to keep Stewart for another day. I would highly recommend using Cynthia, she is kind and extremely responsible.”

“Megan and Nick were phenomenal! Lola felt right at home with their family and Bubba, their dog. They were responsive and sent my partner and I daily photo updates of our girl. I was afraid Lola wouldn’t want to leave come pick up because she was oh so loved and entertained during her stay with them. We found our trusted sitter family!”

“I am so happy I chose Kajal to watch Mochi. Mochi is an anxious pup and Kajal made the whole process less stressful starting with the meet and greet. She sent lots of pictures and videos during Mochi’s stay which eased my mind as this was the first time Mochi was not in our care. I really appreciate Kajal and her family looking after Mochi and will seek her services again in the future. Thank you!”

“Caroline was a gem! She was very accommodating of the last minute request and the way she wanted to do a short meet and greet prior to my dog’s stay, it felt very genuine of her to ensure her dogs and my dog had a good introduction. Bhavani (and her sons) took excellent care of our 1.5-year-old German Shepherd, Dallas. The entire process—from scheduling the meet-and-greet to picking Dallas up—was smooth and hassle-free. Communication was excellent, with regular and consistent updates throughout his stay. One thing I especially appreciated was her thorough vetting process to ensure the dogs she boards are a good fit and to minimize the risk of fights. Dallas spent time with several other large dogs, and I saw no signs of aggression or conflict between any of them. It's clear she takes the time during the meet-and-greet to understand each dog's temperament, which gave us a lot of confidence. On the flip side you feel bad picking him up because he doesn't get to play with his buddies anymore 😅 We had a great experience and will definitely board Dallas with her again in the future.

We had a wonderful experience! Cocoa was so well cared for, and it was clear he felt happy, comfortable, and loved. Their whole family, including the kids, was involved in caring for him, which made for such a warm and welcoming environment. We really appreciated the updates and the attention they gave him. We’d absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them!

Lucas and Katherine were absolutely wonderful with our dog, Bentley. This was the second time they cared for him, and once again they exceeded our expectations. They kept us updated throughout our trip with plenty of photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Bentley experienced a minor tummy issue during his stay, and they were incredibly attentive, caring, and proactive in making sure he was comfortable and well cared for. They also showed great flexibility and understanding when our travel schedule shifted, which we truly appreciated. It’s clear that they genuinely love and care for the pets they watch. We felt completely confident that Bentley was in great hands. We highly recommend Lucas and Katherine to anyone looking for trustworthy, communicative, and compassionate pet sitters. We will absolutely be booking with them again in the future!

Yanina, and her family treated her like she was already part of their family. They were especially understanding when we had to drop our dog off later than our initial time. She sent us pics during our vacation and updated us. I was relieved that they had a fenced in yard because dalmations love to run. We picked up our fur baby in great shape. Thanks to Yanina and her family we will definitely rebook in future.

Cindy is a wonderful sitter & took such great care of my fur baby. My doggie is usually quite timid but was able to get settled comfortably at her house & enjoyed roaming around in her yard. Cindy sent updates & beautiful pictures throughout the day and is prompt with all correspondence. Highly recommended!

If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and caring dog sitter, look no further than. Ellie, my mini Goldendoodle, just finished a 10 day stay and came home happy and well rested. The environment is dog friendly. Her own toy poodle and cat were incredibly friendly, and Ellie had a blast playing with her new furry friends. I especially loved the fenced-in backyard where dog could enjoy some supervised outdoor time together, and the regular walks were a great bonus that kept Ellie active and happy. Communications were excellent throughout the entire stay. I received regular photo updates, which allowed me and my family to enjoy our time away without worrying. From what I can tell, she is well experienced in dog care. I feel so lucky to have found someone so reliable and well-connected in the dog-owning community. I highly recommend her services and will definitely be booking with her again whenever the opportunity arises!

Kexin came through during holiday period when no other sitter was available. She not only was available but she offered a very reasonable rate. She took good care of my cats also. She showcased professionalism throughout the stay keeping us posted. She genuinely cares for pets. She is definitely someone I would book with.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
