About: Furbabies are a priority when in my home. They get a lot of TLC and attention while here. They are not left alone and are allowed to adjust to the new environment at their own speed. They are treated as my own. Since 2012, I have fostered (both temp and long term) and transported for rescues more than 200 cats and all kinds and sizes of dogs --young, old, big, small, scared, skinny, pregnant, sickly, healthy, etc. For several years, I ran my own rescue. As a result, I am aware of the needs of our furbabies and the need to listen to the furparent and watch the behavior of the furbabies. Retirement allows me to be home most of the time (including holidays) so your furbaby would fit right in with my schedule. I go out usually a couple times a month which can be scheduled when I am free. Therefore, I have time to pamper your furbaby. Your furbaby will be treated as a family member with their safety as number 1 priority. I have a fenced yard, and I have crates if needed. My dogs are friendly, but I keep them separated from newer or visiting dogs. In the house, I have rooms separated by gates. So a visiting furbaby would be in the living room mostly. If I go out and work, I let them out with me to run the yard (once adjusted) or they can be placed in an outdoor kennel to enjoy some fresh air. In the yard, I use beneficial nemotodes and diatomaceous earth in the yard, no poisons. In a new environment, when I let dogs out back, I keep them on a leash or put in one of the kennels until I feel they are comfortable enough to run the yard, but with supervision. No foster or visiting dog has been left outside alone. In transferring the furbabies from home to vehicle, I always double leash. In a client's home, I would be the same with them as I am with my own furbabies.

Other than that, I work from home with flexibility for quick bathroom breaks during the day, and I am free in the evenings. Since I work from home the majority of the time, I’m able to provide your pup with round-the-clock attention and care. I have plenty of space to set up a crate if needed, and I don’t have any dangerous or easily breakable furniture.

There’s a walking trail right across the street, which makes it easy to keep active pets engaged and exercised. Safety is always a top priority! I follow your care instructions closely and ensure every pet is supervised and comfortable at all times.

I I am currently able to check on animals at any hour of the day as I have a fairly open schedule, I do require 1 days notice. I am extremely mindful of safe environments for animals inside and outside, I ensure that all doors are locked/closed tightly and if you have an escape artist I am very mindful of that as I enter your home. About: I provide patience and presence. In other words I strive to create a space for my animals to be just animals, while bearing in mind the realities of modern life. If possible, I’d like to extend that space to your animal(s) as well. I also provide pet delivery services through CitizenShipper. I have a flexible schedule which leaves a nice amount of time each day that can be dedicated to caring for my animals. My dogs get at least one walk per day that is at least hour long, usually more. There’s also separate times for using the bathroom, playing or sunbathing. About once a week we go to a large local & not very frequented forest preserve. There they can explore and run with several potential pockets of off-leash time. Each animal staying in my home will join our “pack.” After receiving the basics of food & water, bathroom outings and exercise they will be able to develop their bond with myself and my two dogs. In other words they’ll be cared for physically, socially, and emotionally. When looking after an animal in a client’s home I will approach the interaction with the same mindset described above. But my two dogs will not be present and I will operate within the household rules set by the client.
