“Emily did a great job taking care of our babies and even helped clean up some ants that found their way to the cat food! We will definitely be rebooking in the future. Thanks so much!”

About: I have many years of experience taking care of every different kind of animal. I’m here to take your dog on walks, to play, feed your pet if you’re gone, care for them overnight, at your place or mine! I have experience with dogs, cats, horses, and all of your smaller pets as well. I’m extremely flexible to care for your pet during the day for walks, feeding, play time, as well as overnight while you’re gone! I currently do not have any pets in my home, making it a safe environment for all of yours! I enjoy getting to spend time with your best friends and will treat them with the same love and care as if they’re my own.
“Lindsey was so sweet! I loved getting pictures of our pup while at work and knowing that he had a chance to play when I couldn’t be home for a few more hours. We were very impressed with her dedication to helping care for our pet when she still came to our drop in after dealing with a flat tire. Our dog was a little nervous at first, he is used to one of us coming home for mid day play time, but Lindsey was patient with him and we’re so glad he got over his nerves and came out of his shell to be the sweetheart we know him to be. Overall, we really feel like the cared about Hiccup the same way we would. We were so impressed and happy and we’re excited to book again!”

“Whitney is fabulous with our furry friends. Even our most finicky friend comes out to socialize with her. Gives us peace of mind knowing our furry companions are safe and lovingly taken care of.”

“Hannah was wonderful!! We met Hannah for a meet and greet beforehand and you could tell she loved her job! We got plenty of pictures of Georgia during her stay and we could tell Georgia loved Hannah too! I would recommend hannah to anyone who needs a sitter! ?”

“Heather took amazing care of my two dogs during our drop in visit! She always left me a nice message regarding the visit and took so many cute pictures of the girls. We will definitely use her services again and would recommend her to anyone needing pet care!”

About: 30+ years loving and caring for all types of fur babies! I've been around animals most of my life so it is second nature to me to take care of and love on them! Do you want someone not just to feed but also love your pets? I am currently between jobs and as such an available 24/7 at the moment. I have recently applied to some full time jobs, so that may update soon. In home the pets stay indoors unless needing to potty. We have a fenced in back yard with plenty of room to roam and play. At times when we are out of the house the (dogs) would be on the covered back porch with water and full access to the fenced in yard.
“This was the first time I have ever left my two cats while on vacation and was nervous about not being with them but Abigail truly went above and beyond and took such amazing care of them. She is the sweetest and I was able to be more relaxed while out of town knowing they were safe and being taken care of! Will definitely be using her again for any future trips!!”

“Amanda & Janessa were so great and went above & beyond to provide love and care to my pups while we were on vacation. They were even accommodating at such last minute and sent me updates the whole time. I will be using them in the future! Thank you both so much for caring for my babies!”

About: I’ve grown up around all types of pets and absolutely love all animals! We’ve had an array of animals in our house growing up such as a German shepherd, parakeets, love birds, hamsters, gerbils, hermit crabs, and Jack Russell terriers! I now own three dogs! We have a super sweet labrador, a frenchie, and a boxer-pit mix. We love taking our big dogs on hikes and out to socialize any chance we get! Daily walks and outside time are a must for our pups and we love every minute of it. I have experience with IVDD and surgeries to follow with my French Bulldog. With that being said, I have first hand experience with caring for a medically fragile animal, administering medications, and seeing signs of discomfort in animals. As a pet owner and lover I know the importance of making sure you have someone you trust with your animal babies! I’m transitioning from being in the classroom full time to substitute teaching once school starts back up. I am free for the summer and will have flexibility in my schedule, especially for afternoons and evenings. I take my own pups out for a walk at least twice a day morning and evening. They also have outside time at least 3-4 times a day for 20+ minutes. If you choose to have your pet board with us we have a full privacy fenced backyard. We also have crates and gated off rooms to separate pups in they need a break or some down time. Our neighborhood is very walkable and private with low traffic.
About: Animals are special creatures who deserve special care and love. I've cared for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits since I was old enough to talk. Specifically, I've been hired by many friends, family, and friends of friends to pet sit as well as house sit! I am a kind and strong person who has most experience caring for dogs in all walks of life, including administering medication and special care to a large and elderly dog with blindness and cervical spondylomyelopathy (Wobbler Syndrome). I myself have 3 cat children (an inseparable brother-sister combo named Biscuits and Gravy, and an elderly cat named Feeny). I most enjoy caring for animals in their own homes/spaces where they can feel comfortable and keep their known routines. I have an intuitive approach to pets and a deep sense of integrity and honesty. I consider myself lucky to interact with as many beautiful pet children as I can! I have a very flexible and open schedule at the moment, so I am available for daytime, nighttime, weekends, as well as longer-term sitting, if required. I offer care in your own home to ensure your pet feels safe and has as little of break in routine as possible without their owners. I have the utmost integrity and honesty. I am a strong, astute, sensitive, and confident person who will care for your pet as my own.
“Jessica and Presby make a good pair! Jessica is loving with her, plays with her, feeds her well (including lots of treats!), and gives her the medicine she needs. We feel confident Presby is in good hands with Jessica. She is a jewel!”
About: My best friend of 15 years and her family have two wonderful dogs, a doodle and a lab who I have taken care of so many times. I even watched the doodle when she was just a few months old for about a week during a snow storm while her family was on vacation. They’re a handful but so much fun. I have also cat-sit for up to 3-weeks on end. Giving medicine, checking for packages, and updating if anything seems off. I am a graduate student with very flexible hours. I am happy to spend time with your pet while I study or just for personal therapy. I will make time for animals no matter what. I go above and beyond noting things like if the house temperature is uncomfortable for said pet. I keep them under constant supervision and won’t leave them alone for more than a few hours unless discussed otherwise. I am very thorough and will take extra time to make sure each pet feels comfortable and safe with a new person around them. I know what it takes to be patient with pets.
About: Hi there, and thanks for checking out my profile! I’ve been on Rover for about a year and primarily take on housesitting roles or keep pets in my home, but I also have long term walking clients. I’m here because I genuinely love animals and have years of accumulated animal experience that really lends itself well to creating happy clients. I've had pets of all shapes and sizes since the 7th grade when I turned my dog into my science fair project (The Effect of Rewards on Dog Training). Since then, I've done obedience classes with one of my pups, worked with Australian Shepherd and Doberman rescue as a transporter and foster mom, and walked many miles with some cute pooches. I'm currently mom to one male cat, an Holland Lop, and one very typical male Golden Retriever. OH--and a seven year old human boy! I’m experienced in difficult animal behaviors such as separation anxiety and mild aggression towards other animals, potty training, medical emergencies (I am NOT clinically trained, but I’ve been through a lot of vet appointments between my pets and the rescues), and giving medication. I’m also a farmer and floral designer by trade, so I might covertly care for your houseplants as well. My work schedule is flexible, and I often work from home. I determine my own work schedule, so I can accommodate pet care most days and times. I’m very careful about not overcommitting myself, particularly when it comes to taking responsibility for other people’s pets. I offer in-home care for cat- and kid-friendly pups who get along well with other animals. Ollie the Golden Retriever will be sure to keep your dog well-entertained. He is 5 years old and still very "puppy," but ultimately, he’s a chill Golden to his core. The cat loves Ollie but are typically unimpressed by all other creatures. The rabbit rules the house.
About: I’ve been surrounded by pets my whole life - from dogs of all breeds to guineas pigs and cats. Growing up, I eagerly took part in caring for them and have gained a lot of knowledge and experience in pet care. I have also provided pet sitting/walking services to friends and family. Fun fact: I loved animals of all kinds so much as a child, that I became a vegetarian at 13 years old! And I have been one now for over 15 years! I have a very flexible schedule and more than happy to work with you to accommodate your pet’s unique needs, routines, and preferences to ensure they are comfortable and cared for! When caring for your pet in your home, I prioritize their safety, respect your space (and theirs), and strive to create a calm, trustworthy environment where your pets feel secure and loved.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Irmo
Emily did a great job caring for our cat, Ozzie. We highly recommend her as an experienced pet sitter. And Ozzie loved her as well! She kept us informed with photos and followed our feeding instructions, as well as played with Ozzie and gave him lots of attention during her visits. She also brought in the mail and delivery packages. We definitely plan to use Emily’s services through Rover again in the future.

Samira is an absolute jewel! She was very attentive to my doggie and four cats while I was in Chicago for four days. She sent me photos and video updates every day and also looked out for my Temu and Amazon deliveries! I will absolutely be calling in her again next time I go out of town!

This was the first time I have ever left my two cats while on vacation and was nervous about not being with them but Abigail truly went above and beyond and took such amazing care of them. She is the sweetest and I was able to be more relaxed while out of town knowing they were safe and being taken care of! Will definitely be using her again for any future trips!!

I couldn’t have asked for better care for my cat, Oreo. Whitney is a true animal lover and really connected with her, which meant so much to me. Her communication was thoughtful, responsive, and always kept me feeling at ease. She went above and beyond, and I truly felt like Oreo was so well cared for while I was away. I would absolutely trust her again!

Sara was absolutely amazing. Caring, attentive, and wonderful with my cats. She even brought her own toys, which they loved! One of my cats usually takes time to warm up to new people, but Sara managed to get him comfortable on day one. She went above and beyond, without being asked she took the litter with her instead of leaving it in the trash, washing the cat bowls, and following all of my instructions perfectly. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend Sara and will definitely be booking her again. Thanks again Sara!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Irmo. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
