“We used Jade as a sitter for the first time for a weekend trip. She took the time to find all 4 cats on each visit, including the shy ones. She sent photos and updates each visit. We will definitely schedule with her again!”

“Jada was very pleasant to meet and interacted well with our two WILD labs. She handled their excitement well. She was informative when she cared for them and very responsive to my texts. Will definitely book her again!”

“We honestly can’t say enough good things about Gabrielle! She’s patient, kind, and just “gets” them in a way that puts us completely at ease. She’s always on time, super consistent, and quick to respond. Our dogs adore her, and so do we!”

“Cory & Stacey were Great! They treated our cats as if they were their own. Their daily comments reflected the careful attention they paid to them. And the pictures taken always helped to reassure us that the cats were in great hands. We will definitely ask for them the next time we need them!”

“Nicole was absolutely amazing this weekend with our orange tabby boy. She checked on him twice a day, stayed for the full 30 minutes, and provided the best updates and pictures with each visit. I get so sad and anxious leaving my fur baby, but definitely felt relief each time she checked on him. She was the best, and we will definitely use her again! -Abbey”

“Nontombe made me feel so wonderful about being able to leave my pet in her care! She was wonderful, took several pictures and kept me updated on how she was doing. I’ll definitely rebook with Nontombe :)”

About: I lost my sweet Clark (Yorkie/Chihuahua) in 2019. During the time he was with me, I also was the caregiver for my daughter's 2 dogs and a cat whenever they were away from home. I also was the main caregiver for a friend's 2 Bichons while they were away on vacations. It was a happy mix though Clark was a little intimidated by the Bichon brother and sister, we managed to find a way for everyone to be happy. I do not have a dog at the moment. I would do my best to make sure your sweet baby, felt secure and loved. I would make myself available according to their needs. I do not have any pets at the moment. I had a small Yorkie/Chihuahua mix (Clark) for 10 years before he passed from age related illness. I miss him. I would love to care for your sweet baby with lots of affection, play and walks.
“Marissa did such an amazing job of communicating from start to finish! I especially appreciated her arriving at the requested time for each day. The photos and little messages made me feel confident that I made the right choice! Thanks Marissa!”

“Alexandra was wonderful! She was extremely detailed in her summaries of each visit, and we loved the pics! Our dog was well looked after while we were gone and we were very appreciative! I will definitely book her again!”
“Somiya maintained wonderful communication with me during the visit! We had a new kitten that needed special care and monitoring and she did a such an amazing job! I would recommend her services to anyone I know!🥰”

“Hannah was wonderful with our two kitties! She sent pictures and detailed Rover Cards that we truly appreciated! This made us much more relaxed while being away! She was not previously familiar with cat inhalers, but was willing to learn during the meet and greet. We will definitely book Hannah for future drop in visits! Thank you Hannah!”

About: I have over three years of hands‑on experience caring for animals through rescue work, fostering, and running my own small home‑based refuge. “We had a wonderful experience with her! She was absolutely amazing with Curry and with us. Our pup connected with her right away, which says a lot about the kind of care and energy she brings. She truly treated him like her own and kept us updated with sweet messages and photos. I’m so glad we reached out to her, we don’t regret it one bit! Excellent service all around. Kendra went above and beyond to accommodate for my cat while I was gone for 5 weeks recovering from surgery. She kept her fed, watered and made sure she had a clean litter box while giving her plenty of love and Churu in the meantime. I cannot recommend Kendra enough!

Aunt Cindy is simply the best! This was the second time she watched our 3 cats and she was able to build off the connections with them from the previous sitting. She helped everyone feel comfortable (including us) and gave detailed reports with lots of pictures. She’s officially part of our squad!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
