“Reagan is amazing! She was so attentive to instructions for our elderly labradoodle who takes several medications throughout the day. Reagan was prompt to every drop-in time and super communicative. We came home to a reenergized dog who was clearly so very well taken care of!”

About: I’ve been around all types/sizes of dogs! I have taken care of many of my friends/neighbors pets. I have two dogs of my own and I know all the responsibility it takes! I have also volunteered at my local animal shelter for the past few years where I had to pass a test specifically on caring for dogs! I’m currently in school and working part-time, but in my free time I’d love to spend time with your pets! My schedule is also flexible enough that I can do weekly visits as I am very reliable and dependable. I will keep dogs on a leash at all times if there is not a fence. I am very aware of my surroundings so making sure all doors are closed, harness is on correctly, etc.
“As usual, Jessica was awesome taking care of my 3 chihuahuas. I like using Jessica not only because she does a great job of taking care of Pablo, Izzy, and Mooch, but also the continuity and familiarity the dogs have when she comes over. She always communicates with me with pictures and texts. One of my older dogs needs several medications and she is always accurate when giving Pablo his medications. Thanks, Jessica for taking such good care of my babies! Stefny Craft”

“Grace was fantastic! She communicated well, sent lots of pictures. She goes above and beyond to take care of your fur babies. Will definitely be using again and we highly recommend her.”

“Heather helped make me feel comfortable leaving my doggo for the evening, she came before to meet Pepper then came later to walk her when I was gone. Heather was friendly and caring, and I’m glad I found a wonderful dogsitter! Very much recommend 🫶”

About: I'm a lover of all animals and have been since I was kid! I have nearly a decade of pet care with personal pets and neighborhood pet sitting. In recent years I've dog sat a couple different family friends dogs multiple times. Lastly I have volunteered with the Humane Society several times for their dog walking services! I can do Friday evenings and all day Saturday and if necessary Sundays!! Especially if needing a continuous commitment but I take any bookings even if one time occurring. I only provide dog walking services but I garuntee this care will be intentional, safe and fun for your dog to get the excellent treatment they deserve!
“Karina was fantastic with my cats! One of them is very shy and usually takes a very long time to open up to people but she made an exception for Karina! Big thank you and a huge recommendation to anyone else who needs their furry friends taken care of!”

“Jeffery was so great with my four cats! He made sure to send me updates and pictures every day while I was out of town for thanksgiving. They loved snuggling him and he took great care of my older baby who needed daily meds. Prompt and communicative and very sweet soul!”

“Gracie is and has always been amazing in taking care of my fur baby Nala! Mind you Nala is a puppy! Not only does she help with the little things like training, etc. but her communication skills are top notch!”

“Huge THANK YOU to Emma for helping us take care of our dog Ghost! We came in from out of town and she came to our hotel to let him out and feed dinner while we were at an event. So grateful as it allowed us to enjoy our event. Very responsive and timely! Thanks again!”

“Was willing to help me out with a pretty inconvenient schedule (daily, early morning and again late evening). Always kept us informed with how things were going, followed all the various procedures we gave her, and sent pictures. Responded to communication quickly and was very easy to work with. We had unorthodox pets to watch, too: chickens. Beverly got to know them over the week and work with each of their personalities.”

“Nicole did a wonderful job during her visits with Teddy. She is very thorough and provides valuable feedback in post-visit summaries. She is friendly and dependable. We will happily use her services again.”

About: I'm a self-employed pet lover and dog sitter with lots of experience under my belt. I also work part time to make sure my family future is secure. While I don't have any dogs of my own, I will welcome yours with open arms and care for them as if they're mine! I live in a spacious, two story house and have ample room for your pet to play. My yard is fenced in and very secure. Since there are stairs in my house, dogs with hip or back problems may sleep downstairs. I keep a clean home. If it is a faint smell of dog pee, it’s because dogs do use the restroom on my carpet (I am a dog sitter and most dogs do so in my home, especially the “not so potty trained” ones). I make sure to clean up after every service rendered. Stays on day of pick up after 2 pm can occur additional fees. References are available upon request. About this sitter: I have been pet sitting for several years. I love all animals, especially dogs. I am self employed who work from home, which leaves me plenty of time to spend with your dog. I also have a part time job to make sure my family future is secure. Why I love dog sitting I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up around them and have been pet sitting for several years. About my yard I have a spacious, fenced-in backyard.
“Pamela did a great job caring for my two cats! One of them warmed up very easily, but the other was very shy, and Pamela did a great job experimenting with techniques to try to make her comfortable.”

“Sydney was wonderful! She took great care of both my cats. One of my cats is very challenging and has to get oral medication. Sydney was patient and earned his trust. She followed all of my instructions and I knew my cats were safe and happy. I would highly recommend Sydney!”

About: I’ve grown up around animals my entire life, and caring for them has always been a huge part of who I am. I currently have one cat with me at college and three more waiting for me at home, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I volunteer with the Humane Society and a local cat rescue, Comfort Cats, where I help care for cats in need. I am also Fear Free Certified, which means I prioritize reducing stress and creating a safe, positive experience for every pet. I’m currently on the pre-veterinary track in college, and my passion for animal health and welfare continues to grow every day. Whether your pet needs playtime, walks, feeding, medication, or simply lots of love and attention, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. I am currently a full-time college student, but I make it a priority to provide dependable care for every pet I work with. My class schedule allows me to be flexible throughout the week, and I have even more availability on weekends. I plan my schedule carefully so your pets receive the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I understand that every pet is unique, so I take the time to follow your instructions and maintain their normal schedule as closely as possible. As a Fear Free Certified caregiver and pre-veterinary student, I’m trained to recognize signs of stress and provide calm, compassionate care. I will treat both your pets and your home with the same respect and care that I would my own, and I’ll always keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

Hannah is amazing!! She made sure to ask all the important questions and took great care of our kitty Vada. Finding someone trustworthy and dependable with your fur babies is hard but she made it so simple and made sure to keep me updated while we were gone. Vada usually gets sad and stops eating as much 3-4 days into our week long vacations and she ate completely normal while we were gone so just knowing she felt comfortable and happy while we were gone was such a comfort. 10/10 recommend Hannah for your pet needs and will def use her again in the future!!

Pamela took great care of my baby while I was away. I like that Pamela interacted with my kitten from the moment they first met, and Pamela asked lots of questions to make sure she provided a service tailored to the needs of both me and Edie. I'm so happy I found Pamela and will definitely be asking her to care for my kitten again!

Beth is always so attentive to our pet and his needs and always makes us feel so comfortable that he is well taken care of while we are away. We are always so grateful for her and her daily reports of how our boy is doing while we are gone. We are so grateful for her and her care of our pet!

Teresa is friendly and easy to work with, and her timely (and amusing) reports and photos made me feel relaxed about leaving for my vacation. She helped with the house (looking out for plants, opening the blinds), etc. I would be happy to rebook with Teresa in the future!

There are some really great pet sitters and then there are the ones that have that seventh sense about things that seem to know what's needed in the moment -- that's Hadley. She was so careful to do what was asked but she also did what no human can know that you will need in a LIVE moment. What a great sitter! Thoughtful. Wise. Kind. On time. Organized. Respectful. Great Communication. Really and truly One-of-a-Kind.

Absolutely wonderful! Truly one of the best cat sitters I've ever had, super friendly and responsive - and the cats warmed to her quickly which is a big deal for them! Pets always have a sense of these things. I'm really glad she was able to look over them, I didn't have to worry at all about being gone for a few days. I also booked super last minute and she was really nice about it. Totally recommend!

Thank you so much for taking care of Ollie! We were gone for a longer trip and I was really worried about Ollie getting bored and Justine was able to come up with fun and different ways to stimulate him other than just playing! I truly appreciated that. Highly recommended using Justine to take care of your fur babies!

My now-husband and I had to go out of town to get married and this was the first time that we had to rely on someone that we weren't close with to watch our kitties. It was imperative that we found someone that would make an effort to get them to warm up to them and that's exactly what Emma did. She was very communicative, always gave our kitties treats and really made an effort with them. It paid off, because even though they were super shy at the beginning of her time with them and hiding in closets, by her last drop in, they were coming out and allowing for her to pet them. She kept us updated with lots of pictures and really put us at ease. We will be using her again in the future!! 10/10!!

We needed a last minute sitter for our cat for a long weekend away. We were so happy Shannon was available to spend time with him and flexible around our travel plans. She was an excellent communicator and kept us up to date on her visits despite some tech issues with the Rover app. We so appreciated her notes and photos and loved hearing/seeing how much our cat enjoyed her attention!

Julia was an excellent cat sitter. She communicated clearly throughout the entire process, responded quickly to messages, and always showed up right on time. Most importantly, she took wonderful care of Bill and made sure he was comfortable and well looked after while we were away. It gave us real peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend Julia to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive pet sitter.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Columbia. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
