About: I’ve grown up around animals my entire life, and caring for them has always been a huge part of who I am. I currently have one cat with me at college and three more waiting for me at home, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I volunteer with the Humane Society and a local cat rescue, Comfort Cats, where I help care for cats in need. I am also Fear Free Certified, which means I prioritize reducing stress and creating a safe, positive experience for every pet. I’m currently on the pre-veterinary track in college, and my passion for animal health and welfare continues to grow every day. Whether your pet needs playtime, walks, feeding, medication, or simply lots of love and attention, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. I am currently a full-time college student, but I make it a priority to provide dependable care for every pet I work with. My class schedule allows me to be flexible throughout the week, and I have even more availability on weekends. I plan my schedule carefully so your pets receive the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I understand that every pet is unique, so I take the time to follow your instructions and maintain their normal schedule as closely as possible. As a Fear Free Certified caregiver and pre-veterinary student, I’m trained to recognize signs of stress and provide calm, compassionate care. I will treat both your pets and your home with the same respect and care that I would my own, and I’ll always keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

“Teresa was amazing with my sweet Benny! She is gentle and kind and followed all my crazy directions for my high maintenance cat. Will absolutely recommend her and book her again!”

“Karina was fantastic with my cats! One of them is very shy and usually takes a very long time to open up to people but she made an exception for Karina! Big thank you and a huge recommendation to anyone else who needs their furry friends taken care of!”

“Grace was fantastic! She communicated well, sent lots of pictures. She goes above and beyond to take care of your fur babies. Will definitely be using again and we highly recommend her.”

“Meghan was AMAZING!!! She communicated, kept us updated and even cleaned up after my pups which is above what we expected. Will definitely be booking again!”

“Jeffrey and I met for his first official drop in and both Callie and Ellie took to him immediately. Jeffrey was very careful about understanding all aspects of their feeding and daily routines. He asked great questions which reflected the depth of the care he incorporates in serving his clients and their pets. I plan to continue to use Jeffrey on a regular basis and in that regard he has been especially accommodating to my specific scheduling needs. Jeffrey has a warm and friendly personality and I look forward to working with him going forward and trusting him with the care of my two dogs”

“Nicole took great care of my dogs! She even went above and beyond with one dog who needs their bum wiped or he'll leave messes around the house. I greatly appreciated that! One of my dogs can be temperamental, but Nicole was so good with her and she made sure to let me know daily that things were going well with that particular dog. I appreciated that she accepted their personalities and leaned into them.”

About: Over the past 15 years, I have had experience in a wide variety of breeds, temperaments and energy levels. I approach each pet uniquely, considering specific routines, quirks and comfort zones. I’m observant of their body language and attuned to signs of discomfort, anxiety, feeling safe or calm. I am comfortable caring for them at home or on a walk. I have experience giving animals medication’s and adhering to strict diets. I am happy to send you photos & videos as well as check in’s on how your fur baby is doing. I’d love to give my full attention to your pet—they deserve it! Right now I’m able to fit daily or weekly routine and I’m available at any time right now. I’m available most times of the day. I am able to take your dog for walks or take care of them at your home where they are comfortable. And play with them in your backyard.

About: I'm a self-employed pet lover and dog sitter with lots of experience under my belt. I also work part time to make sure my family future is secure. While I don't have any dogs of my own, I will welcome yours with open arms and care for them as if they're mine! I live in a spacious, two story house and have ample room for your pet to play. My yard is fenced in and very secure. Since there are stairs in my house, dogs with hip or back problems may sleep downstairs. I keep a clean home. If it is a faint smell of dog pee, it’s because dogs do use the restroom on my carpet (I am a dog sitter and most dogs do so in my home, especially the “not so potty trained” ones). I make sure to clean up after every service rendered. Stays on day of pick up after 2 pm can occur additional fees. References are available upon request. About this sitter: I have been pet sitting for several years. I love all animals, especially dogs. I am self employed who work from home, which leaves me plenty of time to spend with your dog. I also have a part time job to make sure my family future is secure. Why I love dog sitting I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up around them and have been pet sitting for several years. About my yard I have a spacious, fenced-in backyard.
“Pamela did a great job caring for my two cats! One of them warmed up very easily, but the other was very shy, and Pamela did a great job experimenting with techniques to try to make her comfortable.”

About: I’ve been dog sitting for about 4 years and have experience caring for pets with special medical needs. My own dog has separation anxiety, depression, and receives injections at home, so I’m comfortable with extra care and medication. I’ve also cared for my cousin’s dog with epilepsy, including administering medication and staying calm during seizures. I love getting to know every pet’s unique personality and treat each one like they’re my own. I’m a student at the University of South Carolina with a flexible schedule that gives me plenty of time to care for your pets. I’d love to start by offering dog walks and drop-in visits, and I’m also happy to provide pet sitting as needed. I always do my best to work around each family’s schedule and make sure every pet gets the attention and care they deserve. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I have reliable transportation throughout Columbia, pay close attention to routines and instructions, and always provide a calm, caring environment. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“Kristin was very pleasant and easy to talk to about our pups. I really am looking forward to her sitting with our dogs. Our dogs were very receptive and positively responsive to her.”

“Sydney was so great with our cat! This was our first time leaving our cat for an extended period of time, and Sydney always sent photos with each visit and let us know how our cat was doing. Sydney was also super flexible with us too. If we ever needed a cat sitter again, I would want to book Sydney again!”

“Aiko was punctual with her arrival, provided updates, and pictures of her visits with my sweet boy, and responded quickly to my questions. She totally put my mind at ease in allowing a stranger into our home to care for our new " baby". I so appreciate her service!”

Caitlin is absolutely wonderful with my giant Schnauzer, Rallo! 🐾❤️ She treats him like her own, giving him so much love, attention, and care. Rallo absolutely adores her, and I have complete peace of mind knowing he’s with her. Caitlin is trustworthy, dependable, and truly goes above and beyond. I couldn’t recommend her more! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pamela took great care of my baby while I was away. I like that Pamela interacted with my kitten from the moment they first met, and Pamela asked lots of questions to make sure she provided a service tailored to the needs of both me and Edie. I'm so happy I found Pamela and will definitely be asking her to care for my kitten again!

Beth is always so attentive to our pet and his needs and always makes us feel so comfortable that he is well taken care of while we are away. We are always so grateful for her and her daily reports of how our boy is doing while we are gone. We are so grateful for her and her care of our pet!

Teresa is friendly and easy to work with, and her timely (and amusing) reports and photos made me feel relaxed about leaving for my vacation. She helped with the house (looking out for plants, opening the blinds), etc. I would be happy to rebook with Teresa in the future!

Meghan was fantastic with Sophie! My cat Sophie tends to get nervous pretty easily, but Meghan made her feel completely at ease (I could see this through adorable pics Meghan sent!) Communication was great throughout. This was actually a repeat booking for us, and I’ll definitely be having Meghan sit for Sophie again. Highly responsible and reliable sitter — thank you, Meghan!

There are some really great pet sitters and then there are the ones that have that seventh sense about things that seem to know what's needed in the moment -- that's Hadley. She was so careful to do what was asked but she also did what no human can know that you will need in a LIVE moment. What a great sitter! Thoughtful. Wise. Kind. On time. Organized. Respectful. Great Communication. Really and truly One-of-a-Kind.

Absolutely wonderful! Truly one of the best cat sitters I've ever had, super friendly and responsive - and the cats warmed to her quickly which is a big deal for them! Pets always have a sense of these things. I'm really glad she was able to look over them, I didn't have to worry at all about being gone for a few days. I also booked super last minute and she was really nice about it. Totally recommend!

Thank you so much for taking care of Ollie! We were gone for a longer trip and I was really worried about Ollie getting bored and Justine was able to come up with fun and different ways to stimulate him other than just playing! I truly appreciated that. Highly recommended using Justine to take care of your fur babies!

Caroline has been great with our puppy! We have used her regularly the past couple of weeks on days my husband and I both work. She has been reliable and consistent, sends us photos and takes time to engage in playtime. She responds quickly to our messages and has been flexible with bookings. We would definitely recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
