“Michael and his wife are very loving and caring with my dogs. They are always responsive and take the time to send pictures and updates, which I truly appreciate. My pets have stayed with them several times, and they have always treated them with so much love.”

About: I have experience caring for pets with patience, love, and responsibility. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, cleaning up after pets, and providing plenty of attention and companionship. I treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m currently working part-time, so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pet! My availability is Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday : 11am-8pm, Wednesday and Friday: 2pm-9pm. Contact me if you need overnight care. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I provide a clean, calm, and secure environment where pets can feel relaxed and at home. I make sure fresh water, nutritious meals, regular bathroom breaks, exercise, and plenty of attention are always available. I carefully monitor pets throughout their stay and keep potentially harmful items, unsafe foods, and other hazards out of reach. Each pet’s routine, personality, and individual needs are respected, with plenty of patience, affection, and positive interaction. Whether your pet needs playtime, cuddles, quiet time, or medication support, I strive to create a dependable environment where both pets and their owners can feel comfortable and confident.
“I needed to board my cat, Simba, and did not want to use my regular pet boarding facility. I usually board him there; however, this time I did not want him in a caged environment. I found Charmaine through Rover, and I am glad I did. I was a little apprehensive at first, but after speaking with her and seeing how attentive she was to Simba’s needs, I felt much more comfortable. Simba is blind and requires extra care, but Charmaine took excellent care of him. She allowed him to roam freely in her home, making him feel comfortable and at ease. Throughout his stay, Charmaine provided regular updates, including pictures and videos, which gave me peace of mind. She not only met Simba’s needs but went above and beyond to ensure he was happy and well cared for. If anyone is looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter, I highly recommend Charmaine. My experience with her was outstanding, and I would not hesitate to use her services again.”

“Sally is the best sitter I have ever had. There is nothing negative to say, only numerous positive comments, some of which include that: Lacie immediately took to Sally & now whines til I get her out of the car at her house, Sally knows the dogs very well so that she chooses which might be introduced with your permission (which has been great for my pet who interacts more with adults), Sally truly cares about the pets and lets me know how Lacie did (with many pictures) during the stay & individualizes activities and procedures to match your & your pet’s preferences/routines & needs. Thank you Sally! It’s good to know that Lacie is in good hands with you!”

About: I have had a dog (childhood puppy at home) my whole life and she is my best friend! I have fostered multiple puppies, some who aren’t potty trained, and have experience overnight sitting. My roommates also love to have furry friends around! I am a full time graduate student with a part time job, but will be home a lot and love to get exercise walking. I also have 5 other roommates who would be happy to help out if I am busy with class. I have a front patio for quality outside time, but it is not fenced. I will be outside with your pet whenever we hang out on the patio, otherwise we will be inside.
“Super convenient. We came down to Fort Jackson for graduation. There are hotels 4 minutes away and Fort Jackson was 15 minutes and a very easy drive. Isabela was great, Sent multiple pictures of our pup enjoying his stay with her. If you are coming down with your fur baby for graduation, this is your sitter.”

Currently, I have a 4-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix and a 4-month-old Jack Russell Terrier. Over the years, I’ve owned and cared for German Shepherds, Beagles, Pit Bulls, Jack Russells, Labradors, and Schnauzers, and at one point had as many as six dogs. I’ve also owned a cat and have experience caring for cats as well. Friends frequently trust me to pet sit for them, and I genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, playful, or needs a little extra patience, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I also am a Volunteer Dog walker and caregiver at Columbia Animal Shelter. I have a very flexible schedule and am committed to providing reliable, attentive care while you’re away. I’m currently in the army and work 2-3 days a week.my husband stays at home full time. I have a very flexible schedule. I care for every pet as if they were my own. In my client’s home, I follow their pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and supervised environment with regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, fresh water, and lots of love. I pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs, personality, and comfort level to help them feel secure and happy.
“We love Lindsey and Aaron! They were so sweet to our boy and he had the greatest time! He was so tired after playing all weekend he wasn’t even excited to see us haha we will definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone! Thanks again guys!!”

“Very friendly, lots of pics and updates, and most important... They were patient with my spoiled mutt. They were just as friendly as they were professional. Definitely recommend them in high esteem.”

“Stacey is an absolutely amazing dog sitter who took wonderful care of our furbabies! They had a fun and comfy stay at Stacey's home as if they were home. We will be using her all the time when we need a dog sitter.”

“Eileen is the greatest. Of course I mean all the usual stuff like great communication and great space/yard for my dog. But when I say she is the greatest, I am referring to her absolute love of dogs….. and that includes my dog. She sent me pictures and videos that warmed my heart each day I was away from him. He was so content, playful, and happy that I was almost jealous. It’s not just dogs she lives…..she loved my dog and it showed. I highly recommend Eilleen because you will be grateful and happy. Fergus and I are going back.”

“Christina took fabulous care of our little kitty. We were a bit apprehensive leaving her for the first time, but Blakely received personal care and adjusted quickly to her new situation. Christina was good about giving us updates via photos, videos, and messages. We would definitely bring our kitty to Christina again next time we go away. I highly recommend Christina!”

“Janece & Matthew took such great care of our 4 month old puppy! We were so nervous leaving her for the first time, but she was in great hands. Janece and Matthew sent us updates on her every day. Would definitely recommend them for any boarding needs you may need!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Columbia
We had a wonderful experience with Whitney! She treated our boy like family, always had treats ready, and let him hang out with her kids. Whitney was quick to respond to our initial inquiry and kept us updated with daily check-ins. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter!

We were immediately comfortable with the care and attention our Hazel received during her stay with Qais! He kept us updated with photos and videos to let us know how she was settling in and how she continued to do during her entire stay. We will definitely be reaching out to him again, and we are so thankful to have a new sitter to take care of her for us!

Tony has watched my dog, Saint, twice now, and I couldn’t be happier with the care he’s provided. I’m new to using Rover and I’m extremely thankful that I found Tony. So much so that I refuse to look for any other sitter. He’s been pleasant to work with, trustworthy, and always makes me feel confident that Saint is in great hands. One thing I really appreciate is the updates. Every picture Tony sends, Saint looks genuinely happy, relaxed, and comfortable, which gives me so much peace of mind while I’m away. It’s obvious that Saint enjoys spending time with him. I truly appreciate Tony’s flexibility as I venture out of town pretty often. Whether Saint is there with others or just as the only guest, he’s always well cared for and comes home happy. I highly recommend Tony to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

Nikki was great, she took our couch tiger for walks and sent pictures daily. She seems very capable of taking great care of the 4 legged loved ones. We would seek to have her keep our pup in the future if the need arises. Thanks, for a much better environment than a boarding kennel.
Madison did an amazing job with my dog Goose! He is very shy and has a hard time meeting new people, but he warmed up to her very quickly. She sent plenty of video and picture updates while I was away. She made sure Goose was comfortable in her home and I will definitely board with her in the future!

Kristin kept us updated while our fur baby stayed with her for 4 days. We usually bring our baby with us everywhere, but we couldn't on this trip. I was very nervous about leaving her with someone new but she did so good. We are moving soon but if we need Kristin before then we will definitely have her watch our baby again!!

Elizabeth is amazing!! She loves on your puppy as if it was her own. Our Bella had the best time with Elizabeth. She sent us several pics each day and updates on her eating and activity. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our Bella and we had such peace of mind knowing she was in the greatest of care while we were away.

Katelyn and her family were WONDERFUL! Her toddler was so gentle with Scout & Sadie and they loved her. Katelyn spoiled my babies with lots of play time outside and petting. I loved getting photo and video updates from her. She has a big, safe backyard for playing and she was so kind and gentle with them. We will DEFINITELY use Katelyn in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
