“Michelle was very pleasant and patient with my dog, who is not accustomed to people outside of our family. When we arrived, she made sure she understood all of our preferences regarding eating, sleeping, and socializing. Throughout our time away, she sent pictures and text updates on how my dog was adjusting. When we picked Max up, he was clean, calm, and doing great overall. A great experience!”

About: I’m a caring and responsible pet owner, and I share my home with my husband, our three kids, and our 11-year-old Golden Retriever, Karma. She’s truly part of our family, and caring for her over the years has made me even more patient, attentive, and nurturing—qualities I bring into how I care for every dog. I’ve always had dogs growing up, and they’ve never been “just pets” to me—they’re family. I treat every dog with that same level of love, respect, and attention, and I would care for your dog just as I do my own. In addition to my personal experience, I’ve helped neighbors by watching their dogs during vacations and stopping in for visits when they have long workdays. I’m comfortable with daily routines, feeding schedules, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe and cared for while you’re away. I love walking dogs regularly and believe it’s important for both their physical and mental well-being. Whether your dog enjoys long walks or prefers time in a fenced yard, I’m happy to follow their usual routine to keep them comfortable and happy. I’m currently a certified teacher between positions, which gives me extra flexibility and time to dedicate to your furry family members—something I truly enjoy. I look forward to meeting you and your pets soon! I’m a certified teacher between positions, which gives me extra flexibility and I'm currently available full-time to dedicate to your furry family members. I have a fenced-in yard at my home where dogs can safely play and relax, and I also enjoy taking walks around my neighborhood for extra exercise and enrichment. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I’m happy to follow their usual routine—whether that means going for walks or letting them out in a fenced yard. My goal is to keep your pet comfortable, happy, and cared for in the way they’re used to.
“We needed a sitter for our dog for a few hours while attending a graduation and we did not know anyone in the area. We found Aiko on Rover and everything worked out perfectly! Our dog can be nervous about going with someone new but she very quickly decided that Aiko would be a good friend. Aiko shared some pictures to let us know all was good and we were able to enjoy the graduation”

“Stacey was wonderful with Daisy. She sent updates and pictures regularly and allowed Daisy to be a part of her family during her stay. I would recommend Stacey to anyone looking for a place for their animal to call home-away-from-home in their absence. Lisa P.”

“This is the first time we had to leave our baby and thanks to Nontombe it will not be our last. I think our baby misses her. She was super attentive and sent updates regularly. I would recommend her without hesitation! Your baby will be in great hands.”

“Whitney was an absolute gem to communicate with! My dog is quite shy, but she settled in perfectly with Whitney and her family! She sent a ton of pictures which put me at ease! I fully recommend booking with her!”

“10/10 would recommend!!! Great communication and she sent pictures throughout the day. Will be booking with Sally again she’s amazing and cares for your dogs as if they were her own.”

“Such a great experience! Yolanda was attentive to our pets and took lots of pictures for us to see how they were doing during their stay with her. I recommend Yolanda! We had no worries or concerns while she had the pups. That speaks volumes when you leave your fur babies for a week with another person. We would select Yolanda's profile again when we need a sitter. She was great!”

“Our fur baby, Lena, had an awesome week with Carol! Carol did a wonderful job taking care of Lena and keeping us posted throughout the week with status updates and pictures. Carol treated Lena like she was her own providing love, exercise, and stable routine for her. I highly recommend Carol to care for your pets.”

“One of the best sitters I have booked on Rover. Flexible, kind, trust worthy, reasonable, and my Rio did not want to go home. She is the sitter for this family, thanks again.”

“Arjun is a recently rescued large dog and we were anxious about finding a good sitter for him while we had to be away. After we met Jen, we decided to do a couple of day care type stays before we left him for almost a week. From the beginning, Arjun seemed to be at ease with Jen and her family who showered him with love and attention. He went on many long walks with them, enjoyed Jen's garden and the company of her pets Gizmo and Sparkle. Jen was constantly in touch with us, providing us photos and updates even during the one-day stays. She made him some of his favourite foods (eggs) and accomodated our requests keeping Arjun's lifestyle routines similar to what we have for him at home. Arjun seemed very happy in her care. Though he was happy to see us, we don't know if he would have missed us very much, given all the attention at Jen's. She even accomodated family & friends who visited Arjun while we were away. We are glad to have found a trustworthy friend like Jen to care for our dog while we travel. We would strongly recommend her.”

“Michael was the best sitter ever for my fur baby! He came to us for a meet and greet, he also agreed to pick/ drop off which was a huge plus for our situation. Mike was very nice, friendly and understanding. I really hope we can keep Michael as our sitter for Winter, thank you so much again!!”

“Kaytelyn is so relaxed and at ease around my GSD rescue. She did a fantastic job watching our girl for our 5 day getaway. She sent lots of updates, pics and even videos that allowed me to just enjoy our trip without worry!”

“Lucas was amazing! My Peaches is shy and a bit anxious. Lucas took his time with her and helped her get over her fear. Peaches had a good time, Lucas send photos and updates every day. I totally trust him with my Peaches! And BoPeep is a sweetheart too!”

“Assatta was amazing!! She kept me informed with daily texts, pictures and videos of how Joonie was doing each day. She has a dog already and it was great to see that my dog meshed well with hers. It was clear from the updates she sent each day that our dogs became “besties” instantly. I am thoroughly pleased with the care that Assatta provided for Joonie. She informed me that she would be willing to watch my dog anytime and I certainly plan on using her again in the future. It was clear that Joonie had the time of his life in Assatta’s care, he came home and instantly went to sleep because he was worn out from having so much fun. Thank you so much Assatta for treating him like your own! ☺️”

“Glenn was amazing with my pup. Never felt more comfortable with my dog being a sitter the first time. We came in from out of time. If I lived in the area I would try to get Glenn every time for my pet sitting needs. Book him!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
