“She was sooo awesome at communicating she sent updates every day showing me how happy my dog was she accommodate every need I had she responded quickly each time she even took him on walks !!!!!!!”

“Our Louis is a 5-month old yorkiepoo, weighs 6 pounds, and has never stayed with anyone other than family. We were apprehensive about leaving him with non-family for 5 days while we cruised but did not have a choice. We searched Rover, chatted with a few people, found Nontombe and the end result is that we (and apparently Louis) completely adore Nontombe. Nontombe sent us videos and pictures and it was clear to see Louis was right at home with someone who loved on him and played with him. We were also worried about how Louis would get along with the other dogs being cared for but Nontombe outlined her plan to us to introduce Louis and what would happen if the dogs did not get along and the videos and pictures of Louis and the other dogs made us feel even more comfortable. It was also clear to us that Nontombe loves animals and is great with them. We recommend her for the care of your young and older fur babies and personally, we won’t use anyone else.”

“Isabela was amazing with our yorki. She sent regular updates with pictures and was quick to respond whenever I reached out!! We will definitely be using her again in the future! Thank you so much for treating our dog like it was your own :)”

“Chad was absolutely wonderful and Beatrice had the best time with him and his family. He took great care of her and sent regular updates on how she was going and how she was settling in. Definitely recommend!”

“Michael is easy to work with and has a lot of experience with all types of pups. Prancer had a ball and made lots of new friends. I would definitely recommend Michael and use him again.”

“Rose has enjoyed her stay with Jud and Nicole I was was very impressed and happy with their care and professionalism in regards to dog care !!! I highly recommend them to anyone who needs their dog boarded with loving care”

“Paola was amazing! She treated both my girls like furry princesses. She made me feel welcomed and relaxed the moment we met! During the puppy vacation Paola sent me daily pictures and videos. My pups had a great time! 10/10 would recommend”

“Cory & Stacey are wonderful! They kept my 100+lb lab for three nights recently and were and absolute pleasure to work with. This team was not only accommodating to my big boy, but they were great about sending pics and updates- allowing me to vacation with family worry-free. Having used commercial kennels previously, this was my first experience using Rover or sitters. What a great discovery! I would highly recommend the duo of Cory & Stacey to anyone that needs overnight pet accommodations! You guys rock!! Thanks for a great experience!!”

“My dogs were well taken care of. With short notice, Keith took the time to get to know my dogs and was transparent on the kind of care he provides, which is stellar.”

“Niagara was the absolute best!!! I wish I could give her more than five stars for her services that were provided, because she deserves them all. Our little Dorkie Bella stayed with her for six days while we went on vacation. I was very hesitant at fist about leaving her so far behind. This was our absolute first time ever leaving Bella with anyone since the day we picked her up from the breeder. We received so many videos and pictures of Bella. It made me feel so much better. I highly recommend Niagara for your pet needs! Thank you once again for everything ❤️”

“Tony has watched my dog, Saint, twice now, and I couldn’t be happier with the care he’s provided. I’m new to using Rover and I’m extremely thankful that I found Tony. So much so that I refuse to look for any other sitter. He’s been pleasant to work with, trustworthy, and always makes me feel confident that Saint is in great hands. One thing I really appreciate is the updates. Every picture Tony sends, Saint looks genuinely happy, relaxed, and comfortable, which gives me so much peace of mind while I’m away. It’s obvious that Saint enjoys spending time with him. I truly appreciate Tony’s flexibility as I venture out of town pretty often. Whether Saint is there with others or just as the only guest, he’s always well cared for and comes home happy. I highly recommend Tony to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

“Thanks to Gina my rambunctious 10 month old puppy was safe & happy while I visited with lifelong friends & attended the funeral of another lifelong friend. Gina sent pictures & assurances of my puppy’s wellbeing & that he was “no trouble”, a welcome fib. I didn’t know such a service existed but am very glad Rover led me to Gina.”

“Sally provided great care for our two dogs and also provided us lots of fun updates regarding our dogs! We could tell they were in loving hands! We’d absolutely rebook with Sally.”

“Shannon was wonderful with our newly adopted dog. She was quick to respond to texts, kept us updated regularly, and was incredibly patient with him as he adjusted. Since he recently came from foster care, earning his trust is important, and Shannon was so gentle and understanding with him. We truly appreciated the care and kindness she showed and would absolutely recommend her!”

“Sebastian is the absolute best! I would give him 10 stars if I could. He was responsive from booking til pick-up. He consistently updated me and sent many pictures of my baby, Caesar. Caesar has daily topical medicine that must be administered and Sebastian had no problem applying it for me. I truly believe Caesar felt like he was at home while in Sebastian’s care. I will absolutely be using his services again.”

I have a very flexible schedule. I care for every pet as if they were my own. In my client’s home, I follow their pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and supervised environment with regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, fresh water, and lots of love. I pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs, personality, and comfort level to help them feel secure and happy.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
