“Katie was absolutely amazing! She stayed at our house and watched our Golden Retriever for 5 nights while we were on vacation, and he absolutely loved her. It was such a relief knowing he was happy, comfortable in his own home, and being well taken care of while we were away. Katie was trustworthy, caring, and did a great job with him. We came home to a happy dog and everything just as we left it. We would absolutely book Katie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust to stay overnight and take great care of their dog!”

“Our fur babies were well loved and cared for by Angel. They were happy and calm when we arrived back home. Our house was clean and neat, just like we left it. Angel kept in touch and sent pictures and videos daily; picked up our mail amd even watered our plants 💝Bed was stripped and towels put in the laundry room...thank you😊. We have already requested a "rebooking" for October. 5 🌟 👍”

“Morgan was great! She took excellent care of all 3 dogs, giving each one the individualized attention they needed. She provided regular updates and photos helping me to feel more comfortable. The crew was happy and well-loved while we were away! We would highly recommend Morgan and would jump to use her services again!”

“This was our first time having Haley stay with Olaf (a senior Bichon), and she was wonderful! I could tell by the photos she sent to me that Olaf was very happy with her! Everything was in order and clean when we returned. I'm grateful that we found Haley, and look forward to having her again. If anyone needs a great sitter, she's the one you want. She understands and loves animals, and that makes all the difference.”

“Qais was incredibly friendly and helpful! I had a last-minute work schedule conflict and needed someone to come care for my 12-year-old Shih Tzu who had just come out of surgery. Qais stepped up on short notice and was a wonderful support for my furson during such a stressful time.”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life. My family had two Poodles while I was growing up. I helped care for them by giving them baths, feeding them, and walking them. I also made sure they got out and had exercise by taking them for run around my neighborhood. I am active duty in the Army and am stationed at Fort Knox. I can definitely stop by at least twice a day in the morning and then evening. Depending on how far away, I can even stop by mid day during my lunch break. I can come to the pups and care for them at their homes. I’d love to take them out on long walks and to doggie parks. Just playing with them would be amazing!

“Carlee took good care of our old man Gus while we were gone. She provided updates when necessary and left the house in great condition. We will definitely use Carlee again!”

“Ava was amazing. We had a super last minute need for a dogsitter and she stepped up to the plate! Was very responsive and accommodating with our tight schedule, but more importantly our two dogs seemed so happy with her while we were gone! She left our house in perfect order and gave plenty of updates throughout her stay. Definitely will be working with Ava again.”
“Chris was amazing!! We were able to leave Remi home and know that he was being taken care of. He was accommodating at the last minute— Definitely a life saver! Will be recommending him to friends and using him for future sittings.”
“Jalontai was great! She was very easy to communicate with, very flexible and willing to accommodate my schedule and updated me with pictures. I came home to a happy dog :) Would definitely book her for visits again!”

“Aaron was absolutely amazing caring for our 3 doggies for 9 days. We were super nervous to leave them, but Aaron made us feel stress free. He was super communicative with morning, afternoon, and nighttime check-ins with pictures and how they spent their days. He went above and beyond, even cleaning, washing the linens, and leaving a delicious blueberry breakfast treat. He was exceptional. Our dogs loved him and he will definitely be our go-to person from now on.”

About: I have grown up with dogs of all sizes and ages my entire life. My grandparents had a farm with 10-15 rescues at a time. I’ve had jack russles, Great Danes, labs, & pitties. I’ve been dog sitting all ages and sizes since I was 10 (cats too!) I also have experience with aggressive / reactive dogs and know how to keep them comfortable especially on walks. I am a helicopter dog mom and super particular about how my dogs are taken care of and I will be that way with your dogs too! I work Monday-Thursday with a super flexible schedule so I’m available most weekends and sometimes during the week for drop ins and dog walks. I have a 11 year old and 1 year old dog so I am used to stricter instructions and think it’s super important to follow them for the dogs safety and well being!

About: I’ve always been an animal lover and have experience pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family. I’ve helped care for pets while their humans are away, making sure they’re fed, comfortable, loved, and getting plenty of attention and playtime! As a teacher, I’m naturally patient, dependable, organized, and attentive to the little details. I know how important it is to feel confident about the person caring for your pet, so I’ll always follow your pet’s normal routine and any instructions you leave for me. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or just having someone nearby to keep them company, I’m happy to give them the care and attention they need. And of course, you can expect plenty of updates and cute pictures so you know your furry family member is happy and well cared for! 🐾💕 I currently have a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to care for your pets! I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention. I’m also happy to work with your pet’s usual routine whenever possible. Whether your pup needs a midday walk or your kitty needs some company while you’re away, I’d love to help! 🐾 Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my priorities. When caring for pets in their own home, I’ll respect their space and follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, litter box care, and any other parts of their normal routine. I know every pet has their own personality and comfort level, so I’m patient and happy to let them warm up to me at their own pace. I’ll also keep you updated with messages and pictures so you can relax knowing your furry family member is safe, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention while you’re away! 🐾💕

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hopkins walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hopkins maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hopkins choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hopkins. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
