“Owein was amazing! He came ahead of time to meet the pups and talk through all the care stuff in person which I really appreciated! Owein was so thorough, thoughtful, and took extra care to make me feel confident with their care. I was sent regular updates a couple of photos which was great! Overall, the care my dogs received was fantastic and I would definitely like to have Owein watch my dogs in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Chris was amazing!! We were able to leave Remi home and know that he was being taken care of. He was accommodating at the last minute— Definitely a life saver! Will be recommending him to friends and using him for future sittings.”

“Aaron is simply amazing! This is our 2nd time having him dog sit at our house. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. He is very communicate, sending updates and pictures at least twice a day. We don't have to worry or stress about our fur babies or our home when we are away. He is our go to person.”

“Gracie has kept my 2 Danes a couple of times and they love her. She keeps me updated frequently with pictures and texts. We have searched for someone that we can trust to be in our home and who will love our big babies and we have found her!”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 8. My mom has been a very popular and successful dog watcher since I was born, so I’ve always been around them and her while she takes care of them. I’ve even taken some jobs up from her if she gets too busy. I love dogs and I would love to take care of yours! I’m a rising sophomore at the University of South Carolina! I love to go on walks, go to the gym, cooking, journaling, crafts, board and card games and much more. I’m a very outgoing person and could probably become friends with anyone, including your fur babies! Since I love walking, I’d love to bring your pup along as well! I am trained with all types of harnesses and leashes for dogs. I go to class mainly in the early mornings from 8-9 but I am very flexible and have a lot of free time other than that! I’d love to spend my free time with your babies! I do not have a fenced in yard, or a yard. I share an apartment with a mixed puppy and 3 other girls. The puppy is very friendly, but I’d probably keep your pup with me at all times.
“Kat house and dog sat (2 big and loud, but lazy dogs) for us for a week and was an absolute amazing sitter. She took great care of our house, and dogs, and went above and beyond without prompting. Anyone would be lucky to have Kat take care of their buddies! We will definitely use her again!”

“Morgan was great! She took excellent care of all 3 dogs, giving each one the individualized attention they needed. She provided regular updates and photos helping me to feel more comfortable. The crew was happy and well-loved while we were away! We would highly recommend Morgan and would jump to use her services again!”

“Kristin was amazing! She stayed with my two dogs for three nights, including the Fourth of July. She kept me updated at all times, sent videos, photos, and message updates. I felt very relaxed knowing she was with them. One of my dogs has leash reactivity and Kristin handled it very professionally and well. No incidents occurred with her. I even came home to a clean home! She said she wanted me to be able to relax when I returned. I will definitely use her again! Absolutely incredible service.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Champ was so well cared for while we were away, which gave us complete peace of mind. He was fed on schedule, let out regularly, and clearly received lots of love and attention. We really appreciated the updates and knowing he was in such good hands. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup, and it’s obvious he was treated like family. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable pet sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our boy!”

About: I grew up in a household full of animals, three dogs and three cats. I’ve experienced my fair share of pets needs for as long as I can remember. I also love to foster puppies when I get the chance, even though they can be really tricky. I raised my puppy malibu during quarantine and took care of her constantly making sure she was potty trained and getting all her puppy energy out. I also know how to treat older pups because of one of mine that recently passed away due to health issues. she was diabetic and needed insulin shots daily and constant care. I’m currently a junior at the university of south carolina and love to care for animals during my free time. I’m constantly fostering from the local shelter to help out in any way I can. I normally take long walks with them in between class and play outside to give them the attention they deserve. I live in an animal friendly apartment that has a dog park and plenty of outside area to walk around and play. I always make sure the animals needs come first so they always have water, food, and plenty of toys.
“Great sitter! He spent ample time with our 3 pitties and sent us photos each drop in so we didn't have to wonder how they were all doing or prompt a check in. We were able to have a fantastic stress free vacation and would love to rebook!”

About: I’ll teach off of what you've taught them and I'll go by rules you've set at home for your dog, I'll also do walks every few hours and bond with your beloved pet because it's more than just babysitting , I want to understand your pup. Your dog will never be left alone , I will always watch and play with your pup. I'm available almost every weekend and I have experience with younger dogs aging to about 4 weeks- 7 months. I've always been great with dogs because of my playful mood and the activities I do. If I do care for your dog, I guarantee there will never be a moment that your dog isn't active doing something with me every single day. I currently have a part time job so I’ll be available on weekends only. But I don’t take holiday weekends because I love spending time with my family and friends! I have an unfenced yard if you feel comfortable with your little fur baby running around without a fence but it you need me to I can put your dog in a crate. I feel as all dogs have different needs.
“This was our first time having Haley stay with Olaf (a senior Bichon), and she was wonderful! I could tell by the photos she sent to me that Olaf was very happy with her! Everything was in order and clean when we returned. I'm grateful that we found Haley, and look forward to having her again. If anyone needs a great sitter, she's the one you want. She understands and loves animals, and that makes all the difference.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Horrel Hill
Our fur babies were well loved and cared for by Angel. They were happy and calm when we arrived back home. Our house was clean and neat, just like we left it. Angel kept in touch and sent pictures and videos daily; picked up our mail amd even watered our plants 💝Bed was stripped and towels put in the laundry room...thank you😊. We have already requested a "rebooking" for October. 5 🌟 👍

We are so grateful we found Morgan to care for our dog, Leo, while we were away on our honeymoon. From the moment we left, she provided excellent communication and kept us updated with photos and videos throughout the day, which gave us so much peace of mind. Morgan gave Leo plenty of attention, playtime, and love, and it was clear he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for while we were gone. Coming home to a content and relaxed dog meant everything to us. We highly recommend Morgan to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter. We will absolutely be using her again in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Horrel Hill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Horrel Hill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Horrel Hill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
