“Heather has been a blessing from above. We have been fortunate to have the same pet sitter for our Penny for years but excitingly she left to further her college degree up North. Picking a new sitter to take care of your family member and be in your home personal areas can be hard. Heather is at most an uplifting character and has the best personality, our Penny loved and warmed up to her instantly during their meet and greet. Heather sent detailed updates with pictures, she was extremely prompt on all four of the drop-ins daily, and took Penny on extra nice walks in our neighbor when the weather was nice for the day to get her outside more for some more vitamin D and exercise. We have stray neighborhood cats on our front porch that I have fed for the last six years while here and she even took it upon herself to feed them while we were away, She clearly loves all animals with all of her heart. We truly appreciate her and we already have our next out of town week booked for May and hope she is available. Thank you again for everything. Caroline, Robert & Penny”

“Beverly did a great job! Very communicative and professional. This was my first time on Rover so I had a lot of questions and she was very forthcoming in helping to understand and in ensuring that my time away was stress free and my cats were in good hands. Great job!”

“Karina was fantastic with my cats! One of them is very shy and usually takes a very long time to open up to people but she made an exception for Karina! Big thank you and a huge recommendation to anyone else who needs their furry friends taken care of!”

“thank you so much for taking such amazing care of my little girl!! she must have really loved your energy to be so sweet and snuggly with you, that says a lot! 💕 i appreciate you so much!!”

“Couldn’t ask for a better drop-in visit. This was my first time using Rover, and I had a great experience! She was friendly, professional, and took great care of Marley. He loved having the company while I was at work all day. I would definitely book again!”

“She did exactly what i asked her to do. She sent photos every day ad i could tell the dogs like her. I booked he last minute and she was very responsive with text. I highly recommed her.”

“Rachel for the win!! Rachel did twice a day check-ins for our two cats (one 14 year old and one just a little over a year old), and Rachel was able to adapt to the needs of each - since they are opposites. She followed directions and gave such detailed follow ups from each check-in and a bunch of photos (and action shots during play time). She is reliable and mature. She can handle this job! I appreciate a dependable person who can do all of the tasks based on each individual cats’ needs. Highly recommend!”

“Emma is very sweet, thorough and timely. She communicated with us very well over the weekend as she watched our 2 dogs. Would recommend her to anyone and we will be looking for her again in the future!”

“Jeffrey and I met for his first official drop in and both Callie and Ellie took to him immediately. Jeffrey was very careful about understanding all aspects of their feeding and daily routines. He asked great questions which reflected the depth of the care he incorporates in serving his clients and their pets. I plan to continue to use Jeffrey on a regular basis and in that regard he has been especially accommodating to my specific scheduling needs. Jeffrey has a warm and friendly personality and I look forward to working with him going forward and trusting him with the care of my two dogs”

About: I’m a collegiate athlete so I am active which is great for animals but I’m also timely so I won’t miss appointments. I also have had pets my entire life and love taking care of them. I am super active so would love to take dogs on long walks/runs! I also love to relax if the dog wants to just stay home and play with toys! I have practice in the mornings and then I have class until noon, then I am free all afternoons! I also have time before practice in the mornings! I live with 4 other girls who love animals and we have plenty of room for a crate for any animal! It is a welcoming environment that would be great for your pet. We are all super active and would love to play and care for your pet.
“Sydney was AWESOME! Our girls absolutely adored her. She took them on walks daily. She had great communication the entire time we were gone and she sent lots of pictures of our sweet girls. she was prompt with everything. 10/10 would recommend ❤️”

“Our dogs, Sammy and Bentley loved Jennifer P! They had a wonderful time together on the drop in visits. She came at the requested times, took care of them, gave a report and pics after each visit. Great job! We felt confident being out of town with Jennifer caring for our dogs . thank you!!”

“Kristin did a fantastic job taking care of my dogs while I was traveling for work. I was a little nervous at first since they’re both large and can be strong on the leash, but she handled them great and even helped my lab improve his leash walking. I had total peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. Highly recommend!”

About: I love pets because they all have different personalities like us. We get to know them and who they are while they get to know us. I am a Junior at UOfSC and I work part time as a cashier. They are my main 2 priorities but I am always willing to discuss how I can fit into you and your pets schedule! I have my own toy poodle named Cody at home and we go for walks everyday. We love to take runs after I get off of school and come back for a nice lunch with some rest. While I take care of others dogs, I ensure they have clean water and food bowls, that they get fresh air, and enough time to use the bathroom. I think it’s important for dogs to be outside and active (especially if they’re as hyper as my dog), so walking, running, or even sitting outside is my favorite thing to do.
About: With over 5 years of experience, I’ve cared for everything from 8-week-old puppies to seniors needing end-of-life care. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes—from tiny lap dogs to 100+ lb giants—and can easily match any energy level, from zoomy pups to mellow seniors. As a college student on summer break, my schedule is wide open! I have plenty of time to give your furry friends the love, attention, and care they deserve. I exclusively provide care in your pet’s own home through walks and check-ins, keeping them comfortable in their routine. I’m reliable, respectful of your space, and always prioritize safety and trust.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Arthurtown
This was my first time booking with Kayla and using the Rover app! Kayla was so helpful and showed so much care towards our cat! She showed up when scheduled and sent thoughtful updates even about our cat’s moods. Our anxious girl warmed up to her very quickly. No doubt we would love to book her again!

There are some really great pet sitters and then there are the ones that have that seventh sense about things that seem to know what's needed in the moment -- that's Hadley. She was so careful to do what was asked but she also did what no human can know that you will need in a LIVE moment. What a great sitter! Thoughtful. Wise. Kind. On time. Organized. Respectful. Great Communication. Really and truly One-of-a-Kind.

Nicole was absolutely amazing with our cat! She treated him with such care and kindness. She is reliable and leaves very informed report cards, which put me at ease while we were away for a long trip. She was so sweet to our boy and spent lots of time with him- he is scared of most people and really warmed up to her! She’s the best!

Absolutely wonderful! Truly one of the best cat sitters I've ever had, super friendly and responsive - and the cats warmed to her quickly which is a big deal for them! Pets always have a sense of these things. I'm really glad she was able to look over them, I didn't have to worry at all about being gone for a few days. I also booked super last minute and she was really nice about it. Totally recommend!

Thank you so much for taking care of Ollie! We were gone for a longer trip and I was really worried about Ollie getting bored and Justine was able to come up with fun and different ways to stimulate him other than just playing! I truly appreciated that. Highly recommended using Justine to take care of your fur babies!

Heather is an outstanding caregiver to all of the pets in her care! She’s thorough with routines, communicative and provides real love to my little guy. We feel so seen and looked out for as if Heather were family, thank you Heather for being you and doing an exceptional job!!

My now-husband and I had to go out of town to get married and this was the first time that we had to rely on someone that we weren't close with to watch our kitties. It was imperative that we found someone that would make an effort to get them to warm up to them and that's exactly what Emma did. She was very communicative, always gave our kitties treats and really made an effort with them. It paid off, because even though they were super shy at the beginning of her time with them and hiding in closets, by her last drop in, they were coming out and allowing for her to pet them. She kept us updated with lots of pictures and really put us at ease. We will be using her again in the future!! 10/10!!

Julia was an excellent cat sitter. She communicated clearly throughout the entire process, responded quickly to messages, and always showed up right on time. Most importantly, she took wonderful care of Bill and made sure he was comfortable and well looked after while we were away. It gave us real peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend Julia to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive pet sitter.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Arthurtown. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
