“Aimee is wonderful with our two fur babies! She takes them out for potty breaks and walks, and gives them lots of snuggles. When we can’t be home during the day, we always feel comfortable knowing Aimee is coming by.”

“The photos that Jennifer sent belong on an ad campaign for Rover. My little guy looked like he was having a blast. He doesn't get too many visitors so he was a little apprehensive at first, but Jennifer did a great job getting him to relax and it sounds like they had a great time.”

“Kelli was absolutely fantastic. She Thank took such good care of our kitty Eve for us and our fish Edgar & Jano. It was nice knowing our animals were being well cared for while we were away. We truly appreciate Kelli! Kelli has such a warm and welcoming vibe about her our kitty Eve took to her instantly. Kelli shared photos and videos with us everyday. We'll definitely be leaving a review and using Kelli in the future 😊”

“Anna took amazing care of my cats with complex medical and relational situations. She put even my most anxious cat at ease. Her communication was so detailed and so helpful. And the pics she sent almost made me feel like I was right there with them. I couldn't be more grateful for the care she gave them and the peace of mind she gave me while I was traveling!”

“Celia was such a Saint for watching our 3 pups! She even took a little extra time to feed the porch kitties. We got so many pictures and notes, and each visit she stayed for at least an hour to make sure everyone was taken care of. Will definitely use her services again in the future 🥰 thank you Celia!”

“Jade was wonderful with my shy girl. I really appreciated the tracking of visits and photos. She surprised me with a couple of selfie's with her which is huge. Definitely recommend her!”

“Susan was absolutely amazing! My boys just needed to be dropped in on and fed but she went above and beyond and stuck around and made sure they got some love. Litter box was cleaned daily, she was also on time for feedings so they weren’t thrown off schedule. Absolutely awesome! Will book again”

About: I have had pets my entire life. Early 20s rescued my first dog. Had her for 15yrs. Rescued 2 now. Since 18 off and on I fostered and trained kittens and puppies for an animal hospital. Cared for many family members pets. 20+ years experience with basic training and caring for rescue pets. Will provide the care you want for your pets so you can enjoy and focus on where you are and what you are doing with peace of mind knowing your fur babies are safe and cared for. I also bring homemade yogurt/peanut butter treats free if wanted and can send pictures if perfer. Teacher looking for extra money on the side. I am a teacher off for the summer. I am home with my children and my own pets. I am available throughout the day and night to take breaks from the family to care for yours. When school gets back I will be available for nights and weekends. Your pet has their own individual needs and ways they need to be cared for. It is my job to do that with love, care and compassion. That is what I do. I will care for your pets how you want and what they need on an individualized basis. Below is a little about how I care for my own pets. I have a fenced in yard. My dogs are crate trained when I leave the house. My children and I take our dogs to walks at parks or we run and play with them in the back yard. We enjoy playing training games with our dogs such as hide and seek. Then we enjoy coming in and snuggling our fur babies. When we are home our dogs are out with free roam of the house. They are loved and cared for as part of the family. Our cat prefers her little safe zone and comes out for snuggles and pets as she pleases.
About: I am an avid animal lover, looking for a fun side gig to help pay for my upcoming wedding. I have taken care of many animals for friends and family (including dogs, cats, fish, gerbils, bunnies, and mice). My own home has never been without at least one fur baby and is currently being ran by Penny and Pistol; 2 very adorable and rambunctious kittens. Also for most of covid, I spent my time volunteering at NAWS animal shelter in Chicago, which allows me to be well versed in many dog + cat ages and personalities. If you need some time away or work schedules are conflicting, I know the importance of each and every animal to you all, and would love to relieve any stress by helping out! I have just moved to the area from Chicago and will be starting a position as a corporate events manager at a nearby hotel. This will allow for some hour flexibility, but for the most part I am away from 7:30a-4p M-F. I do get an hour lunch break, so depending on your location, can utilize this to let any animal outside or just come by for some cuddles and attention. Otherwise, I am great with early mornings, later nights, and am available weekends. For most of us, these animals are our children. I know first-hand how scary it is to leave one of your furry family members in the care of strangers, and it is extremely important that you choose the person who will love and care for them as much as you do. Each animal is different and needs to be treated as such. I know that it is so important to read the signs these animals give off so that they are comfortable and happy, especially being away from their human. I love a good routine and will be adamant to stick to a specific regime if there is one. Also, If your animal is for it, I love a good cuddling sesh - so extra plus for those animals that don't understand boundaries.
“Deb did an awesome job with our dogs! She is very friendly and attentive to the dogs. I loved all the pictures she took and the notes added. We will definitely be using her again! Can’t recommend her high enough!!”

About: I lost my sweet Clark (Yorkie/Chihuahua) in 2019. During the time he was with me, I also was the caregiver for my daughter's 2 dogs and a cat whenever they were away from home. I also was the main caregiver for a friend's 2 Bichons while they were away on vacations. It was a happy mix though Clark was a little intimidated by the Bichon brother and sister, we managed to find a way for everyone to be happy. I do not have a dog at the moment. I would do my best to make sure your sweet baby, felt secure and loved. I would make myself available according to their needs. I do not have any pets at the moment. I had a small Yorkie/Chihuahua mix (Clark) for 10 years before he passed from age related illness. I miss him. I would love to care for your sweet baby with lots of affection, play and walks.
About: My family has owned a dog for most of my life, but I’ve cared for my own dogs for a little over 7 years now. I am good with basic manners and any extra care your pet would need. I do work a full time job, but I’m available to check in or walk your pets depending if I’m working nights or evenings that day! I can crate your dog if needed or am able to take them on a long walk to tire them out for the day if that is requested.

Anna took amazing care of my cats with complex medical and relational situations. She put even my most anxious cat at ease. Her communication was so detailed and so helpful. We can not recommend Kelli enough! She took such great care of our two cats during an 8-day trip, with AM and PM check-ins to feed them, scoop the litter boxes, and make sure they had their TV on. Every visit came with a bunch of photo updates, which was so reassuring while we were away. It was clear the cats were comfortable and getting plenty of attention. What really stood out was how thoughtful she was beyond just the cats. She noticed our houseplants were within reach and getting too much direct sun, and took it upon herself to move them somewhere safer. Coming home to happy cats and a clean, tidy house was the best feeling. We'd book her again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much, Kelli!

Jade, did a phenominal job watching my three babies (cats). I had a last minute travel issue come up, and I needed to find someone to care for my three cats while I was gone. I had to book last minute, and did not have time to do a meet and greet. This was my first time using Rover, and I selected Jade based on her excellent reviews. My cats are my babies, and I have hired friends and neighbors in the past to care for them when we were gone, only to be frustrated upon return to see that the little I asked them to do, was done very poorly. Due to the last minute booking I was only able to communicate with Jade via messages, but she immediately reassured me that she would make sure our babies were well taken care of. We are in the process of selling our home, so I needed someone who would provide loving care to our cats as well as making sure they didn't track in dirt, and kept things as clean as possible when stopping to care for the cats. Jade went above and beyond, and I cannot thank her enough. My cats are terrified of anyone outside of our family, and because we have realtors showing our home right now, there are a lot of new people coming in and out, which is causing a lot of anxiety to the cats. I asked Jade to ring the doorbell and wait 30 seconds to allow the cats to get to their safe place and hide, to help keep their anxiety down. She did this everytime without hesitation. She made sure the litter boxes were clean, as well as the area around the boxes, which was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately we are moving out of state and I will not be able to use Jade's services in the future. However, if you are seeking someone to care for your animals in a loving way, and a way you would care for your animals...I would highly recommend hiring Jade. Thank you Jade for the love and care you provided to our babies while we were away. We appreciate it more than you could possibly know.

Cory & Stacey were Great! They treated our cats as if they were their own. Their daily comments reflected the careful attention they paid to them. And the pictures taken always helped to reassure us that the cats were in great hands. We will definitely ask for them the next time we need them!

Stephanie is fantastic. My little dog Ginger was so excited to meet her and several of my seven cats took to her very quickly. Stephanie is very caring and knowledgeable. She is an excellent listener so I feel my fur babies will be in good care when I need a sitter. I'll definitely book with Stephanie if I need a sitter in the future.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
