I am very flexible at this time. I typically have several online meetings throughout the day and may need to join them or work on a few remote tasks from your home though, if that is okay!

During drop-in visits, I want your pets to have as much consistency as possible in routine, and I will do my utmost to make this happen!
Information Alexa S. would like to know about your pet
Besides your pet’s personality, I would like to be made aware of any known significant medical or behavioral information. For example, your recently adopted dog may have a mild case of kennel cough that requires an evening dose of his or her prescribed antibiotic. Or maybe they’re somewhat of a treat guarder.
A typical day
Activities will depend on exercise level and needs of your dog or cat but I very much like fostering positive socialization and encouraging play. Please note that I will also can provide extra house-sitting services; I know I would want someone to do the same for me, be it fetching (haha) the mail, plant-watering, or even making sure the thermostat is set correctly, I'll do it!

Love and 13+ Years of Rescue Work
Pet care experience
Hello, I'm Alexa! I’m really excited to be back on Rover after having taken great care to focus on my professional work in full-time non-profit rescue. I’m happy to say that I’m still in non-profit, but working remotely now. This allows me to care for your pets much more flexibly. It is safe to say I have experience (and comfortability) with a vast array of dogs and cats—particularly those with some behavioral considerations and challenges. I served as the adoption program manager at a major no-kill rescue in the Columbia area for a number of years, and feel very confident in my knowledge of and tending to pets’ needs. I placed harder-to-adopt dogs and cats into homes and worked with their families on challenges they may have faced during the adjustment/transition-from-shelter period*. You can count on me to be invested, consistent, patient, careful, and most of all, loving toward your sweet dog(s) or cat(s). *I am not a professional trainer.

Reviews

Braved the snow & icy roads to take care of my girl.

Alexa was great with our elderly cat, Daisy. She was very on top of messages and engaged with questions and feedback on Daisy's status. Would absolutely hire again.

Thanks for watching the pups!

Alexa went above and beyond taking care of my dog for a week. She is so friendly, caring and responsive. She always sent me the best pictures and I never had to worry about anything. I highly recommend her!
