About: With over 8 years of experience in animal care, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of pets—including dogs, cats, rats, and even lizards! I’m confident handling pets of all ages, from playful puppies to senior companions who need a bit of extra TLC. I also have experience administering medications like pills, topical creams, and pet inhalers. I’m always happy to learn your pet’s unique routine and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I'm currently a university student and will be a sophomore this fall. I'm home for the summer and looking to dedicate my time to pet care as much as possible before I return to school in early August. My schedule is very flexible right now, and I’d love to spend the summer caring for and connecting with as many pets as I can! Since I care for pets in their own homes, I always try to make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you're away. I stick to their usual routine—whether that means walks, meals, playtime, or meds—whatever they need to feel at ease. I know how important it is to have someone you trust in your home, so I’m always respectful of your space and do my best to leave things just as I found them (or better!). I’ll also send plenty of photo updates so you can see how your pet is doing and feel reassured while you're away. I treat every pet like they’re my own and try to make the time you're gone as stress-free as possible for both of you.

“Lisbeth took such great care of our cat when looking after her the week we were away. Our cat is elderly and set in her ways. Lisbeth connected with her, kept us informed by sending us daily updates and photos right after each of her visits, and when we came home our cat was content. Lisbeth is very reliable and we will definitely be asking Lisbeth to look after our cat the next time we are away.”

“She is the best and most patient sitter I have ever met. She not only did a fantastic job she helped my Dino start to get over his anxiety! Work in progress as it’s a journey and she has the patience of a saint!”

“Excellent service. This was my first time using Rover and I'm very pleased with Emma's communication and perseverance getting Rocco outside”

“Zach managed to track to our side of town in the badly plowed streets after the snow storm, not leaving Ophelia without food or ability to relieve herself.”

About: I have been caring for animals my entire life. As a 10 year old child, I was fostering dogs while managing my schoolwork and evolving social life. I have had and cared for many different types of pets, including (but not limited to): dogs, cats, birds, hermit crabs, and hamsters. As a 28 year old adult, I now have a sweet dog named Zelda (GSD/Husky mix, 5yrs, 60lbs), whom I adopted at 3 months. I trained her myself and had her fully housebroken with no accidents within 5 months. I have also cared for and assisted in training my mother's dog Sumo (St. Bernard, ~9yrs, 165lbs. With my life experience and graduate degree in psychology, I am very capable of handing whatever comes my way. I look forward to meeting you and your baby! I am working part-time on the weekends and on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursday nights. Therefore, I have a great deal of time to dedicate to your loved ones and make sure they are well cared for! I regularly take my dogs out for relief and exercise in my yard. They get regular feedings and water bowl cleanings to make sure they are well fed and hydrated. When it gets hot, I make sure to add ice cubes to their water, provide them with pupsicles (frozen dog safe ice cream!), and keep the AC running. I always make sure to build in playtime and snuggles to make them feel loved and cared for.

“Leah did a fantastic job taking care of my Bailey. Super responsive, accommodating and reliable. She sent me multiple pictures of my furbaby and followed requests with his feeding (as he is a super finicky eater). Leah took care of Bailey as if he was her own and I would not hesitate to use her services again. Thank you!”

About: I have been caring for dogs since we got our own pet dog when I was 8. Since then, we have fostered many puppies, and I have become a volunteer raiser and sitter for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. I have lots of experience with different kinds of pet care for all kinds of different pets. I am home from college for the summer, so I have free time throughout the day to tend to your pets! I am available for house sitting, home visits, or walking your pet any day of the week! I am familiar with exercising and entertaining pets, or practicing any training you may request. I also make a great snuggle buddy for your pets whether on the furniture or on the floor :)

“Christine has been such a blessing for us. We recently brought into our home a wonderful shelter dog who needed a lot of love and attention, and was initially suffering from severe separation anxiety whenever someone would leave the room. It has also been more than 15 years since we've had a dog and needless to say we were rusty. From day 1 of the meet and greet with Christine, our dog Dot immediately felt comfortable around her, our kids listened intently to her suggestions, explanations and stories of her own going through similar experiences. She's provided consistent advice and support (outside the formal drop-in/walking sessions we pay for). She has her own dogs and fosters dogs as well... and it's clear she does not do this for the money, but purely for her love of dogs. She posts updates during every visit, sends pics, cleans up if there's been an accident, and provides ideas/suggestions when she can. I highly recommend her!”

“We felt very lucky to found Raquel as our cat sitter. She was very reliable and easy to communicate. She also took cute cat photos. Highly recommend!”

“Leigh is amazing! She took excellent care of our two fur babies. Right off the bat on the first meet and greet, we got an excellent first impression. She was friendly and brought them homemade amazing treats! When our trip came, she was in constant contact with us and sent so many wonderful pictures. We were able to relax and enjoy our trip with the knowledge that our pups were safe and cared for. Leigh is a rockstar.”

“Took great care of our little friends”

“I can’t say enough good things about Sam. He took excellent care of my two cats for nine days. Sam provided detailed notes and photos of my cats after every visit (which was twice daily). Whenever I had a question he responded promptly. I extended the length of my vacation and Sam accommodated the change without hesitation. If you’re looking for a pet sitter, look no further than Sam. He is outstanding.”

About: Note: We are currently training our new dog so best services to book are drop-in visits, walks, or sitting at your home. However, some exceptions may be possible for care at our home, feel free to message me to explore, thank you! 👋 Spoil your well-behaved pup in a lap of luxury with a HUGE 1-acre fenced yard that they can roam free in anytime they’d like. Conveniently located just off Route 17, we are a mature, responsible, and drama-free dog auntie and uncle who are both home full time — me as the primary caretaker, and my partner as a backup (if you’d like). It helps make coverage more reliable, and play time feel a lot more like family time for your pup (except no kids). We are not the types to be addicted to our phones because we believe in being present when spending time with fur friends. We also typically don’t take in too many so that we can provide more attention, and be available when you need us. It’s quality over quantity for us! :) Before requesting a stay, please read my “About” section to see if we are a good fit for each other! Ps. I don’t charge if you are late to pickup by a few hours, so don’t worry about that. New Rover Customers: Use my referral link to get $20 off your first service https://www.rover.com/sit/melindac23 I do sometimes get requests to watch pups in NYC but my spouse and I are both currently home in NJ full-time. I believe in mutual respect, gentle care, and transparency, and would treat your pup the same way I would want mine to be cared for. My friends’ furbabies affectionately call me “auntie” :) I understand how being away from your loved one can cause stress or anxiety (unfortunately, we had a bad experience with a sitter once, so I personally relate to this feeling all too well). I can provide multiple updates a day (or less) if you’d like — photos, videos, and even video calls — whatever will help you feel comforted that they are safe and well cared for. We have a unique property, a huge, park-like fully-fenced yard on a cul-de-sac street (but the fence is only 4 ft high, please confirm that your dog cannot jump it). I have a medium size crate if your pups like them. Multiple dog beds throughout the house and no more than 5 stairs anywhere. I’m equipped to take in two dogs at a time, but I don’t have to if you prefer your pup to have a solo stay.

About: I’ve been an animal lover my whole life and have over ten years of pet sitting experience. I grew up with a house full of pets- cats, dogs, birds, hamsters, gerbils, fish, a frog, and even a turtle and a snake at one point! I’ve always been the one friends and family turn to when they need a reliable sitter. I’ve cared for everything from Newfoundlands to Chihuahuas and Sphinx cats to Bengals. I’m comfortable with all types of personalities and temperaments, and I’m experienced handling larger breeds, including pits and bullies. I love getting to know each pet’s quirks and making sure they feel safe, happy, and at ease. Whether your pet needs a quick walk, some playtime, or overnight company, I’ll treat them like one of my own, with patience, care, and lots of love. I work part-time with flexible hours, so I’m available most weekdays and weekends, including early mornings and late evenings, for walks, playtime, feedings, and overnight stays. I’m happy to take dogs on leashed walks, saunter around the yard for some fresh air, or engage in indoor playtime - whatever best fits their routine and energy level. I’m experienced with feedings, medication (including drops), and potty routines like doggie bags, wee wee pad changes, and litter scooping. I’m also respectful of any house rules and will follow your instructions closely to ensure your pet stays happy, healthy, and stress-free while you’re away.

About: Chris is a local firefighter and EMT, and Ellen is a fourth grade teacher. Chris grew up with dogs and cats, while Ellen had cats and got her first dog when she was engaged to Chris. Currently we have a black lab pup named Whitley and two rescued cats, in addition to our two animal-loving human kiddos. Whitley is always looking for playmates! Chris has a rotating work schedule, and depending on your needs is very available certain days and nights. He would love to help you with your pet care needs as long as he is off-duty that day or days. We have a fenced in yard with a lot of space to run around. Inside we have a double crate - Whitley uses one side and the other side is currently available. They would be separated but close to each other. Whitley is generally out of the crate while we are home but can be kept in one gated room if needed. We are willing to adapt to your needs when caring for your pet.

Emily S.
“Emily is, without a doubt, the best caregiver we have ever had for our cats. She always goes above and beyond when it comes to taking care of our boys, Dwight and Rocco. While all that we ever require is that Emily feeds the cats and cleans their litter, she spends a lot of time playing with them and giving them plenty of attention. Emily also takes the best pictures of our cats which are so much fun to receive when we are away and miss them. Sometimes I feel the cats are disappointed when we walk in the door and it's not Emily!”

Rebecca B.
“Rebecca has lived with and cared for dogs for her entire life. She also has extensive experience with catsitting. Rebecca grew up in a home that always had at least two dogs (and often had more). She began contributing to the care of her family pets when she was very young, and when she was in middle school she began fostering dogs on her own for a local rescue organization. Rebecca adopted her own dog, a German Shepherd/Husky mix named Zelda, in 2020, and she has been solely responsible for Zelda's care and training since then. She also participates heavily in the care and training of her family's dog-reactive 180-pound rescued Saint Bernard, which is to say that there is probably no dog she cannot handle! For all of her high school years, Rebecca cared regularly for the cat of a neighbor who traveled frequently for work. The cat required food, water, litter-box maintenance, and medication, all of which are solidly in Rebecca's skill set. I have left my pets in Rebecca's care many times, and I never worry about their safety. They get the kind of attention and responsible care that only a true animal lover can give. I strongly recommend Rebecca as a petsitter!”

Sydney H.
“Sydney is reliable, easy to contact, and wonderful at following specific instructions. My pup is a bit on the quieter, sensitive side and I advised Sydney to not pressure her too much and to go at her own pace. I received regular updates and Sydney treated my dog as if she was her own. 10/10 would recommend Sydney to anyone looking for someone who will love their dog as much as you do!”

Carrie K.
“Carrie is the most loving human I have ever met. Her energetic but loving vibe is exactly what you want around your babies. She cares and will provide the upmost service. My dogs are my kids and I would trust Carrie 1000x over. She truly is an animal lover!
