Ben was fantastic! He took such great care of our dog Skye over a long weekend, and even went above and beyond to check on our cats too. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets and total peace of mind. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be booking Ben again!

About: I was a devoted dog mom for 15 wonderful years to the sweetest and most lovable Yorkie. My Bobi, my baby, my good boy, my heart and so many names I lovingly gave him. He wasn’t just my dog—he was family and deeply loved. ❤️ Having him throughout every stage of his life also gave me firsthand experience caring for a senior dog. I understand that as dogs get older, they may need a little more patience, gentleness, attention, and understanding. I’m comfortable taking things at their pace and giving them the extra care and affection they deserve. Being a dog mom taught me so much about companionship, responsibility, and unconditional love. I also understand how much trust it takes to leave your fur baby in someone else’s care. This was the biggest concern for me and my family so I understand. Every dog has their own personality and needs, and I’ll take the time to get to know yours. Whether they’re young and full of energy or a senior pup who prefers a slower stroll and extra cuddles, I’ll care for them with kindness and treat them like family. 🐾❤️ I currently have open availability and a very flexible schedule, which allows me to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening walks, as well as last-minute requests when possible. I’m happy to work around your dog’s regular routine because I know consistency can make all the difference in helping them feel happy and comfortable. Your dog’s safety and well-being will always be my priority. I’ll follow your instructions carefully, respect your pup’s normal routine, and take the time to understand their personality, likes, dislikes, and any special needs. I’ll also keep you updated while your pup is with me, because I know how reassuring it is to know they’re safe, happy, and getting lots of love. ❤️ Be ready to receive the cutest pictures while your furbaby is under my care ❤️📸

About: I am a life-long animal lover. I grew up with dogs, a cat, a rabbit and anything else I could convince my parents to house! I've been riding horses since an early age as well. Connecting with animals has always come very naturally to me. I truly enjoy caring for and loving animals. My first job, at the age of 13, was as a daily after-school dog-walker, for my neighbor's Old English Sheepdog, Winston. That 30 minutes was the highlight of my weekdays. Animals and their pet parents have been finding me ever since! :) I work in the public school system and my days end at 3:10pm. I am available most weekdays after 3:30pm for drop-in visits and walks. I also have weekend availability. I am available for house sitting throughout the entire year. My schedule and availability for walks and drop-in visits is more flexible during the summer months! During visits, I focus purely on your pet and his/her needs. Drop-ins are normally feeding, a potty break & some fresh air, playtime, water change, a treat (if that's okay by you!) and of course, lots of LOVE. I will tailor the play activities to your pets preferences and energy level for the best experience. During walks, I will remain consistent with the usual pace and route. My goal is for your pet to receive the right amount of activity & stimulation and to feel comfortable and happy in my company. I will ALWAYS make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and looked after as if he/she is my own. :)

About: I’ve always been a huge dog lover and have plenty of hands-on experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and energy levels. I’m comfortable with walks, playtime, feeding, and giving lots of attention and affection. I have an energetic dog of my own, so I’m especially comfortable keeping active pups happy and entertained! I’ll always treat your dog like they’re my own. 🐾 I work full time, but my schedule is very flexible and I work from home many days of the week. This gives me plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, playtime, and spending quality time with your pup! I’m also available on many evenings and weekends. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet and entering your home. I’ll always follow your instructions closely, respect your space, and make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.

About: I've been around dogs my entire life, and they've always been a part of my family. From playful pups to wise old dogs, I've learned how to care for them in many different aspects. I've also babysat puppies before, so I know how to handle the extra energy that comes with it! I’m currently a college student working a part time job. I have a lot of extra free time on the weekdays to hangout with pups. I am available most weekdays to go for some walks and drop-in visits! Your pet's safety is my top priority. I maintain a secure and clean environment, free from hazards. I'm experienced in recognizing signs of distress or illness and will immediately contact you. Dogs in my care enjoy regular walks, playtime in a secure yard, and plenty of cuddles on the couch. I ensure each dog gets personalized attention, catering to their specific needs and energy levels. At home, my own dogs are part of the family, and I extend that same love and care to every dog I will watch.

About: Hi! My name is Amy, and I’m a rising sophomore at Boston College. I’ve lived with dogs since I was 8 years old, so caring for them has always been a part of my life. Growing up with dogs taught me how to understand their personalities, keep them safe, and make sure they get the exercise, attention, and love they deserve. Being away at college means I don’t get to spend as much time with dogs as I’d like, which is why I’m excited to help care for yours! I look forward to giving your pup a fun, safe time and making sure you have peace of mind while they’re in my care. I am currently home for the summer, and am available and flexible. I do have some work and family events that I have blocked off on my calendar, but other than that, I am open to bookings! I have a very large, fenced in yard with a pool. In the summer, the pool is not covered, and my oldest dog loves to go swimming or take a quick step in to cool off. We have a variety of toys and dog beds in our house, and we also have two sets of dog gates.

About: Thank you for stopping by my profile! Let's get to know each other. Please read through my profile and hopefully it will answer any questions you may have about my service! Animals have been a part of my life since childhood, from our show dog who was an Irish Wolfhound to being a rescue mom to smaller terriers. I have cared for horses, chickens, bunnies which includes pets with special handicaps. With deep empathy and natural connection, I understand animals on an intuitive level. I have trained puppies, comforted seniors and welcomed countless creatures who somehow find their way to my home. Your pet will find a home away from home here with me, safe, loving-and I look forward to offering the same love I show all animals to your beloved pet. All the animals in my home live in harmony together. Some visitors marvel at that fact but it's how I treat each animal with love and care that fosters this environment. All needs are met and everyone is happy! Fun stay for your dog while you are away! Welcome! I am so happy you’re considering my home for your furry family member. I am a loving pet owner with a genuine passion for animals, and believe that when your dog stays with me, they should feel like they’re on vacation—a fun, staycation away from home! I have a senior dog called Texas who is a little sheriff around here! She likes to watch the scene as it makes her feel like part of the action. At nearly 18 years old, she is still going strong and wants to just do doggy things! By having other dogs around, it keeps her active and mentally stimulated. My home is a warm, clean and comfortable space. I offer lots of attention, affection and fun! WHY DOGS LOVE STAYING WITH ME I provide a safe home environment where dogs become part of the daily lives of my family. Your pup will enjoy plenty of companionship, attention, playtime, and opportunities to relax. Because I spend so much time at home, your dog won’t simply be dropped off and left alone for long periods. They’ll be part of the action! Every dog is different, so I take the time to get to know each guest and their unique personality, routine, and preferences. I have a lot of experience with many different breeds of dogs. We like to think of our dogs as perfect but they all have that little things they do! I know their quirks (I see you counter surfers!) and emotional needs (I see you doodles!) It is very helpful to know all about your pet before they arrive here for their stay. Whether your pup is energetic and playful, loves long walks, enjoys making new friends, or would rather curl up for a cozy nap. Also, if they eat tissues, or garbage dip or counter surf? We can accommodate all different personalities with proper notice. Not everyone is perfect! I will do my best to make them feel comfortable and happy. We can also discuss at quick 15 minute meet and greet which is required for any boardings with me. For first time guests on longer stays over 7 days, an overnight experience is required. (Exceptions can made for out of town guests or emergencies!) A TYPICAL DAY A stay with me includes plenty of opportunities for: * Outdoor potty breaks and fresh air * Playtime and enrichment * Walks and exercise * Relaxation and cozy nap time * One-on-one attention * Plenty of cuddles and affection * Supervised social time with other compatible dogs Drop-offs can be a range of emotions for your dog- from excited, to curious to overwhelm as they enter a new situation. I have guided even the most frightened dog to love coming to my home! I love seeing each dog’s personality shine as they get to know and trust me! I TREAT EVERY DOG LIKE FAMILY I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I will reassure you that your pup is having a good time with communication that includes updates and photos/videos. I love sending updates and photos so you can see your dog enjoying their stay. You can relax knowing your furry family member is receiving lots of love and attention while you’re away. My goal is simple: I want your dog to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and excited to come back! WHAT TO BRING To help your dog enjoy a comfortable stay, please bring: * Regular food including favorite snack * Special bed * Any necessary medications * A leash, collar, or harness * Any important instructions regarding their routine I have plenty of bowls, blankets, and doggy bags, so there’s no need to overpack! Bring as little or as much as your pup needs. Whether you’re traveling, heading out for the day, having a dinner party or simply need someone trustworthy to care for your best friend, I would love to welcome them into my home. I can’t wait to meet you and your pup! While I am during the day and available to provide attentive care for your pet. I may step out briefly for errands or other chores but will ensure your pet's needs are fully met. Our home is on one acre with a fenced in yard and great area for walking with lots of trees in a peaceful setting. I have a senior dog (17+ yo) that loves company. We also have cats which are friendly and curious.

About: I’ve been lucky enough to have a dog or dogs almost all my life. I also love helping out neighbors & caring for their dogs. I work from home, for the most part, so my schedule is pretty flexible, which also helps to ease the minds of any anxious pups. I have a fenced in yard with lots of space to run around and hang out. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ho-Ho-Kus choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Ho-Ho-Kus with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ho-Ho-Kus. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
