About: Hi! Ilya here. I’m an Honors grad of the Academy for Dog Trainers with my Certificate in Training and Counseling. I'm also a certified Animal Trainer through Fear Free Pets. I help prevent fear in puppies and build confidence in fearful dogs. I help parents and parents-to-be have an easier time giving their dogs and kids safe and positive experiences with each other. I do this with weekly sessions. I offer support in between sessions individualized for you. Before dog training, I worked as a wildlife biologist. I live in Highland Park with my partner, our toddler, and dog Trixie. I have flexibility weekdays 9 am - 5 pm. Dog training is my full-time job (when I'm not taking care of our kiddo and doggo). I offer drop-in visits, dog training, supportive + enrichment walks, and behavior consulting. If we are training together, our sessions will be in-person or virtual to best meet your training goals.

“I've had the pleasure of having Christian pet-sit, plant-sit, and everything in between. He's the type of person that you truly trust to cover for you when you need him most and will often communicate things before they're even asked. Because he recognizes that peace of mind is as important as the helping hand itself. Not to mention Christian's love for cats and dogs has been lifelong, having had both throughout his life. My cat warmed up to him right away, and every time he watches her, I know she’s in great hands. It’s not just my cat either—neighbor cats literally flock to his apartment. It’s like they can sense how much he cares. If you're looking for someone who genuinely loves animals and takes the responsibility seriously, Christian is a truly amazing choice.”

Highland Park pet parents share their Rover experiences
Autumn and Bennett are amazing! They were super on top of everything, proactive in asking how to best tend our critters, gave us very thorough daily check-ins and photos, and went above and beyond in so many ways, including indulging one of our cat’s odd obsession with ice cubes. They also took great care of our tortoise, which I think is a testament to their ability to care for all creatures great and small. It was a huge relief to know our pets were in such good hands while we were out of town, my husband and I are immensely grateful for them and would absolutely love to work with them again for future trips. I can’t speak highly of them enough, your pets will get wonderful care if Autumn and Bennett look after them!

This was our second time using Kelly, and she once again proved how reliable she is by stepping in last minute when our travel plans came up. Our cats are always very comfortable with her, which means everything to us as pet parents. Kelly's quick communication, flexibility, and genuine connection with animals make her someone we trust completely. Highly recommend her to any pet owner looking for quality care!

Immediately upon meeting Nyssa at our pre-catsitting visit, I knew I'd feel comfortable leaving my treasured kitty with her. She's quite clearly a huge cat lover... she just has that special cat intuition that only some people have! She was incredibly kind and caring, super communicative with lots of pictures, and was flexible when I asked if she could stay longer on one visit. Will look forward to booking her again very soon and recommend her without reservation.

Tracy took excellent care of Molé, providing pictures, videos and great communication regarding their time together. Tracy used sensory engagement puzzles for additional stimulation as well. I highly recommend hiring Tracy to watch your pets and I will certainly be a repeat customer.

Mike was great! We were leaving our puppy in her crate at home for the first time for a night out. So she needed a check in to make sure she was chill. Mike came over and hung with her and her big sis for an hour and shared some great photos that let me know all was well!

Grace is wonderful and I highly recommend her! She has been helpful with two last minute bookings and my dog loved spending time with her (the photos she sent showed how at ease he was). She was also patient when we ran into some issues with logistics. I appreciate her responsiveness, professionalism, and thoughtfulness. I would book with her again!

Giselle is the best!!! Our cat Charlie feels so comfortable around her and he’s always so happy to see her when she visits. She’s an excellent communicator, very professional & trustworthy. We always know Charlie is in good hands. Would highly recommend her!

We are long time, loyal clients of Judy. She is terrific and is honestly the best cat sitter we've ever had. Our cats are shy and she's gotten them to open up and be friendly with her, which is no easy feat. I trust her immensely and can't recommend her enough.
