“We are so grateful to have found Todd. He took wonderful care of Kona and made sure she got daily walks and plenty of attention. Kona got along great with Honey, who is such a sweet, chill pup. The two of them did really well together. Todd was always responsive, reliable, and kept us updated. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and are so happy to have found him. We will absolutely continue to use Todd in the future and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and dependable sitter.”

“Kirsten took great care of our dog! He came home happy and tired after a fun day of playing. She was also responsive and conscientious to make sure our dog was comfortable and matched up well with the other doggies at daycare that day.”

“Hyeyoung K. was absolutely wonderful! She is so sweet and made our pups feel right at home! This was a new experience for Remi and Ruger. Hyeyoung K. was so pleasant and easy to talk to, which gave us peace of mind leaving them with her for the day. She also sent many adorable photos, videos and updates of our pups, which we loved and appreciated! In addition, she was very flexible and accomodating in regards to drop off and pickup, which was helpful. Her pup, Happy, is also sweet and enjoyed having a playdate. We highly recommend her and her family if you need someone to watch over your furry friends.”

“Ksenia has been amazing!! She has been watching our Labrador puppy for the past few weeks while we are at work. Our pup Gwen comes home happy and exhausted! We receive photos and a report card daily. It has been a relief to have someone so friendly and responsible watch Gwen during the day. Ksenia is flexible and responds quickly to messages. Highly recommend!”

About: Most people call me Josh. Dogs have always been my favorite animal and I've lived with them for most of my life. I am recently dog-free and I miss having dog energy in my house. I've raised two dogs through basic obedience to adulthood, one with a class, and one largely on my own. I am personally a big believer in the methods described in The Art of Raising a Puppy, because I have had excellent results with their techniques, but will of course prioritize whatever approach is preferred by owners. I am happy to help reinforce any basic obedience your dog may be working on, as well as senior dogs. I am comfortable with a wide range of dog breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Highly reactive dogs are not my favorite, but "highly reactive" can be subjective, so I will consider such dogs on a case by case basis. I am happy to work with dogs of varying activity levels, but extremely high-activity dogs will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. I am currently working from home and am available for dropoff in-home daycare most weekdays and dog boarding (including weekends). My schedule for my dog was three walks a day (morning, afternoon/dinnertime, bedtime) so that is what I'm used to, but I am happy to work with clients to discuss their routine and work with them to agree on an experience that fits their and their dog's needs. I currently have no other animals in my home, so your dog will get my full attention as needed. I don't have a fenced yard, but I am in a residential neighborhood with a good-sized park a block away. I am reasonably close to Seward Park and the Genesee dog park as well.
“Michael is a terrific dog-sitter who took care of our Viszla, Isla, in a very loving and caring way. We were very impressed! We loved the text updates and photos that we received throughout the day. It made us feel very reassured that Isla was having a good time and felt comfortable in an unfamiliar environment. Michael is extremely responsive to messages, and we can’t wait to book with him again soon. It is such a relief to find somebody who we know will take good care of our (Velcro) Viszla girl. Thank you Michael!”

“We could tell Malawi had an amazing time! After the first day, he pretty much ran up the stairs - didn’t even turn around to say Goodbye to us. After we picked him up on his last day, he just laid around sighing to himself. He missed his new friends so much.”

“Vanessa is awesome. She was so loving with Riley and sent pictures and updates throughout. As soon as I met her I could tell that she would take great care... extremely warm and kind. I felt totally comfortable with her as Riley's sitter!”

“Rose was an excellent sitter for Quoia! Playing in the backyard & exploring the hood during her stay. Q was super excited to arrive the next morning & we were both surprised by a very, very thoughtful touch day 2 when Rose laid out little rugs for Q having noticed she can be hesitant on wood floors - so sweet! Would gladly pick Rose again when we need another sitter. Thx! - Tori & Matt”

“Thank you so much, Ben and family! You guys are awesome! Gunner literally passed out when we got home. Haha! He had a lot of fun at your place. We'll bring him back for sure. So glad we found you guys :)”

“Maria was wonderful with my senior dog! She was great at communicating and was so thoughtful with how to make my dog as comfortable as possible in her home. Will definitely work with Maria again!”

“Dacya is our go-to sitter! She's so kind and always accommodating! Oreo can be a temperamental dog but Dacya always does such a great job with him - including making sure he gets along with other dogs (which has never been his strong suit). I've seen Oreo grow and become better with Dacya's help and I can't recommend her enough!”

“Tiffany is so amazing! When I was in a time bind, she was able to accommodate for my my pup Henny last minute and truly provided the best care for Henny the day of. From play, to walks, to water breaks, she was diligent about providing updates to me throughout the day. This is the first time I’ve used Rover and it was such a positive experience through Tiffany, I would not hesitate to book again with her. My pup for sure loves her and cannot wait til the next time he gets to visit. Thank you Tiffany!”

“Shaneik did great with both my pups. One of my dogs has anxiety, and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to leave him with anyone. Shaneik was super understanding, and both my dogs were really comfortable and calm with her. I’d recommend Shaneik!”

“Dot had a terrific first day of care with Jaime. I got updates, pictures , she had time outside before it got too warm + snacks. She also SLEPT and came home tired which is always a perk. Much appreciated Jaime”

“Wanqing was very proactive in communication. She took really good care of my dog and sent me regular updates. She took Poscow for walk twice during his day care and he came back really happy.”

“Crystal is great with her guests and fosters an excellent environment for them. Our Ruby has been going twice a week for daycare at Crystal’s for several months now and we are very happy. Ruby has regular playmates that she loves! And she loves being with Crystal too. Highly recommend!”

We left Coby in excellent care! Candace completely put us at ease about leaving him in a new environment with new dogs. We really appreciated her regular check-ins and attentiveness to his needs. He clearly had a great time...he came home completely wiped out!

We just completed Mello’s second daycare stay with Cheryl, four days after her first visit, and it went just as well as the first! It has been wonderful to see Mello becoming more comfortable and confident in Cheryl’s care. As a dog with anxiety, we were especially happy to hear that Mello showed very few anxiety-related behaviors during her stay. Mello had a great time spending the day with the other dogs and enjoyed exploring the neighborhood on walks. Cheryl continued to provide plenty of updates and photos throughout the day, which gave us peace of mind and allowed us to see how much fun Mello was having. We really appreciate Cheryl’s attentiveness, communication, and genuine care for Mello’s well-being.

My dog Butter had a great time at daycare with Rachel. She was very attentive to Butter and sent me lots of updates throughout the day. Her dog Tracy is very sweet and was a great playmate for Butter. Butter came home so happy and tired out from such a fun day! I would highly recommend Rachel to anyone.

Magdalena and Suresh (hope I spelled it right!) were incredible hosts for our two Dobermans. She was very thoughtful in our meet and greet on getting her dogs introduced and I could tell she wanted to make sure all 4 were going to get along. She sent great pics throughout the stay and I could tell our dogs got spoiled! Would love to have her watch the dogs again in the future!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
