“Gabby was wonderful caring for my reactive dog! She quickly built the trust necessary and knew exactly what to do at every turn. She kept me updated just enough to know all was going well. I came home to a very happy dog! I recommend her highly!”

“Alea was so great with my 2 pups! She was super communicative in planning and making sure I knew the dogs were in good hands! They can’t wait for another slumber pawty with her!!”

“I needed a live in cat sittter on short notice and Alex came through! First time having her care for my cat who was recently diagnosed with a heart condition. I had an important out of town trip. Alex wasn't intimidated and successfully gave him his meds twice a day and kept in regular contact.I would recommend Alex and will gladly have her care for my pets in the future.”

“JJ was a lifesaver. She was able to house sit with my 10 year old Lhasa Apso, Gus, when I had to be out of the house for hours. Gus suffers from separation anxiety but JJ was able to keep him calm and cuddling and distracted and engaged the entire time I was away. JJ sent me texts and pictures all day because she knew I would worry. It wasn’t long before I was 100% confident my little guy was in caring, capable and loving hands and I had nothing to worry about.”

“Camryn was beyond amazing!! She went above and beyond with her communication from the first request to meet&greet and throughout the sit. My dog fell a bit sick during her stay and she took great care of him (and the carpet). She's very kind and considerate not just towards the pet but also to their humans. I cannot recommend her enough!”

“I cannot say enough great things about Bella. She takes care of our dog Winnie like she is her own. Our girl is very nervous when we are not around but absolutely loves Bella. We are so thankful to have found her. We always receive daily photos of our girl as well as updates of how she is (which means a lot of our family). Every time when we come home, it is to a clean house and a happy pup. Thank you again Bella for the wonderful care that you provide for Winnie. We all look forward to the next visit.”

“There is no one better than Jen…she treats our dogs like her own family and always leaves our place so tidy after house sittings. Our dogs love her and don’t ever leave her side when she’s here! Communication is also always great and there’s no reason to book anyone else but Jen!”

“Courtney was amazing! I needed last minute help and it was my first time leaving Millie with someone who she didn’t already know. Courtney sent photos every day with her updates and Millie was having a great time! Super helpful and communicative!”

“I needed a house and dogsitter for a week with very short notice due to a death in the family. Matt came over within 14 hours of me reaching out. He stayed at my house and took care of my two dogs for 8 days. He left the house exactly as I did. He sent me multiple photos and updates each day and was good to my dogs. Appreciate it.”

“Pauline always does a phenomenal job with my pups. She is my go to dog sitter and I always try to book her specifically for my travel. My dogs are well taken care of and even my picky eater eats well for her. She always leaves the apartment so clean and goes the extra mile to take out the trash, vacuum, and wash the sheets. I’m so grateful for everything she does!”

“Bethany was great when she stayed with our dog over the weekend! She sent daily photos and updates and left the house just as clean as we left it! Will definitely be rebooking with her in the future!”

“Sabrina and Daniel were great! They took such good care of my pups, communicated well, and left me feeling confident that my dogs and my home were in good hands while I was away. They also took some of the cutest photos of them that I've seen. :) Who knew I'd have souvenir photos of my dogs in addition to my vacation photos? I would recommend them highly. They are experienced dog-people who love what they do.”

About: I’ve grown up in a home with dogs and have always been comfortable around them. I had a Labrador before, so I’m very familiar with daily care, routines, and spending time with dogs. I graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Animal Science in 2025 and also have some experience interning at a vet clinic, which helped me better understand animal health and behavior. Since summer 2024, I’ve been helping friends with dog sitting, walking, and boarding. I’ve done three long-term stays (over a month each), so I’m comfortable caring for dogs for extended periods and helping them settle in. I’m responsible, patient, and happy to send updates and photos while you’re away! I’m currently a student, but I have good availability in the mornings before 8am and in the evenings after 5pm, so I’m able to do walks and spend quality time with your dog during those hours. I’m also flexible on weekends and can adjust based on your pet’s routine. I’m happy to follow their usual schedule to make sure they feel comfortable and well cared for. I live in an apartment right now, but I make sure pets have a clean, safe, and comfortable space. I take dogs out for regular walks and make sure they get enough exercise, attention, and care throughout the day. I pay close attention to their behavior and always follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding, routines, and any special needs. I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease.
“If I could give Kimberlee more than five stars, I would! From the moment we met her, it was clear she was incredibly conscientious, detail-oriented, and genuinely cared about giving Scooby the very best care. Our dog, Scooby, is anxious around other dogs and does much better staying in her own home with a trusted person. Kimberlee was absolutely perfect for her. She was accommodating, thoughtful, and went above and beyond in every way. She kept us updated with wonderful photos, and honestly, you could see in every single one how much Scooby adored her. As pet parents, that kind of peace of mind is priceless. Knowing she was not only safe but truly happy allowed us to completely relax and enjoy our time away. It takes a special person to earn the trust of an anxious dog, and Kimberlee did just that with patience, kindness, and genuine affection. We are beyond grateful that she was Scooby’s person while we were away. I cannot recommend Kimberlee highly enough, and we will absolutely be booking her again. Thank you, Kimberlee, for taking such incredible care of our girl!”

“Another great experience with Kim! She cares so much for our dog. We got pictures and updates as well. Kim has stayed in our home with our dog many times. She is the best.”

“Jordan was fantastic. During the Meet & Greet, she asked all the right questions and it was very clear from the start that she is a professional who takes dog- and house-sitting seriously. We had her watched three large dogs for a full day and everything went smoothly. The dogs loved her and she kept us informed of how things were going. My daughter (two the three dogs were hers) also had high praise for Jordan. We will definitely seek out her services when we next need someone to watch Gracie.”

“Roger has sat our dog many times now. He’s amazing with her and always very proactive in communicating with us. He is also very thoughtful about the house. Thank you Roger for another great stay with Koda!”

“Nikkii was absolutely great. She sent pictures and kept me posted on how they were doing daily. My 2 crazy fur babies loved her and can't wait to see her again! Thank you for taking such great care of them”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Guilford Center walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Guilford Center maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Guilford Center choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Guilford Center. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
