“This was my first time using Rover.com. I had picked up my German shepherd, Evie, from a shelter in North Carolina last November. Based on her recorded condition when brought in as a stray 5 weeks before she had been through a rough period. She has fully recovered now and is in good health. My wife and I wanted to find someone to board her with where she would be happy when we're away. We identified a few possibilities at the Rover website and following a positive meet and greet with Nadjeska last week, had Evie spend the day with her yesterday. It went very well. Nadjeska sent us several texts with photos during the day updating us on Evie's stay. We were looking for a home where Evie could spend time with and play with other dogs and Evie made a new friend, Sparkles, Najeska's little dog. Nadjeska has a fenced yard which provides a safe place for them to run around in the fresh air. Evie seemed to enjoy the day, Nadjeska obviously loves dogs, and we will be repeat clients in the near future.”

“Sarah and Steve took such great care of our puppy! We are so happy that she was in such good hands while we were at work. Sarah is super friendly and nice to work with. She sent updates, photos, and videos, which put us at ease throughout the day. Our pup was excited to see Sarah, and came home very tired at the end of the day. We would highly recommend Sarah and Steve!”
About: I will take care of your best friend with the same love I show my sweet Labrador’s. I will show patience and love with each of your dogs walks and make sure that they get all their business done, plenty of exercise and time for sniffing all the things as well. If I sit over night you will have to specify not to let them on the bed bc I will want to snuggle and make them feel at ease while you are gone. I will send pictures of your pet playing, relaxing and keep you up to date on if he/she used the bathroom and make you feel comfortable while away from your pet because I know it’s not always easy. I will be your best friends, friend.
About: I can provide a safe, comfortable, and enriching experience for your fur baby. I’ve had labs, a Rottweiler, and a poodle. I prefer dogs to be bathed prior to boarding. Must be house trained! My job allows me flexibility because I work from home. It will be easy to sit, feed, and walk your dog and be a companion. I prefer dogs to be bathed prior to boarding. I can easily crate your dog if needed and take he/she for walks such as down to the park or the beach or town center.
About: I have a close connection with a well-respected, professional dog trainer. I can usually get helpful tips and techniques on short notice, which I have used to successfully train puppies on basic commands (sit, stay, etc). I have 1 cat (2yrs old) who is neutered, indoor, and very shy. I work from home so I spend a lot of time caring for my pet which includes 3 mealtimes, plus play/enrichment time, and relaxing downtime each day. For dog care, I have a small fenced in yard and live in a nice area, so dog walks and outdoor potty breaks are very convenient at most times of day.
“My fur baby requires a great deal of attention due to some health challenges. This makes me very careful about who cares for him. I am so Blessed to have Liza taking care of my lil guy. I would highly recommend her to people that need puppy ? care”

“Truc watched our Russell terrier Ozzie for the day when we were in the area on vacation. Ozzie left happy and tired, and had a great time with her lab Calvin. Truc was very responsive and easy to communicate with, took special care to ensure Ozzie adjusted well, and even took him on a special adventure in town. Would highly recommend. Thank you Truc!”

About: Animals are a man’s best friend and I strongly believe in this proverb. I have volunteered multiple years for different shelters and agencies primarily with Dog Days; loving, caring and giving much vital attention to dogs in need. Fostering dogs has been one of the most rewarding experiences that may not pay in cash but the endless amount of love and the fulfilling feeling that leaves a mark on your heart making a dog feel loved and safe is priceless. I strongly encourage anyone who is interested in adopting a dog or becoming a dog owner to foster. I have helped nurtured dogs with behavior issues, training, and socializing, and I have also pet sat for creatures of all sizes from fish to horse. I have given medication to multiple animals and I am large animal rescued certified. I care for many of our special needs pets with ease because my kindness, patience and attention creates a bond that has pets loving me immediately. I am caring and compassionate to all of the pets in my care.
“Mary-Ellen took care of our blind Shih Tzu, "Peanut" for the day in her home this past weekend and was just AMAZING with her! She was so interested to find out all the little details ahead of time to ensure that they had a fun and comfortable day. Because of Peanut's special needs, my boyfriend and I are very nervous about leaving her with sitters, but after meeting Mary-Ellen, we felt sure that she would be in the best of hands. Mary-Ellen sent updates throughout the day along with several photos so I could see what fun they were having. Mary Ellen's home is adorable and sparkling clean, and as an added bonus, her daughter and Peanut really hit it off and had a wonderful time together. We would highly recommend Mary Ellen to others and will definitely book her again in the future.”
“Merlin had a BLAST with Raeven and team. We received a bunch of photos and a video that captured his personality and illustrated his enjoyment. 10/10 - your pup will enjoy a day with their squad.”

“Andrea was just wonderful. It was my first time leaving them with a sitter. I knew I could trust her with my babies right off the bat. She’s sweet and caring and communicated with me the whole time because I was anxious being away from them. It’s easy to see that she is a dog person to the core. Highly recommend!”

“Zuleima accepted our request last minute and was very flexible and communicative, also through pictures! Virgola seemed very happy of her time there and loved playing with her kids—she didn’t want to leave. I’ll definitely consider booking again. Thanks!”

About: I've been a dog owner for the last 20 years. All my dogs have been rescues, several have been shy dogs that needed extra TLC. I have a special talent connecting with shy dogs and helping them come out of their shell. I also love working with extroverted dogs who love to play and interact. I have a full-time mostly WFH job. I'm available for after-hour drop ins and walks, weekend visits, overnights, and boarding. I know how hard it can be to find petcare (especially during off hours) and I'd like to help with that. My home is safe and secure with a small fenced in backyard away from the road. I have two dogs to keep your pets company. I can help with crating your dog as well. Our home is quiet, serene, and private.

We dropped our dog off for a get acquainted play date. Nadjeska was very welcoming both to us and our dog. He had a great time and came home exhausted from playing. Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
