“Kirsten was fantastic, she did a pre-visit check beforehand and visited our cat early each morning. She sent updates and photos, and let our cat outside to play, just like she’s used to. We would recommend Kirsten and would definitely book her again.”

“If I could give a 1000 stars I would!!! Torie was absolutely a gem. It was last minute and she truly is Mrs Dolittle. Willow our dachshund had such an amazing time. And went right to Torie i know he felt loved because, the pictures really tell a story. Thank you soo much Torie for loving him the way we do. We will be forever thankful to you. Love Willow and his family.”

“Terry is the absolute best dog sitter! She is wonderful with our dog and very professional! We’ve had Terry as our dog sitter for several years when we go on vacations or weekend get aways. As our dog has gotten older, we don’t worry at all that she will be taken care of while in Terry’s care. I highly recommend Terry for pets young and old. Thank you Terry!”

“Melissa was amazing, she was very communicative and responsive. She took amazing care of my elderly cat including administering multiple meds twice a day while I was gone! 10 out of 10 would recommend.”

“Emma was great with my rottie! She was attentive, communicated well, and gave great updates. Ritter clearly felt comfortable with her and had a great time. I feel very comfortable leaving me dog with Emma. Will be booking with Emma again!”

“Amazing pet sitter! Dawn took care of my crew for a couple days and spent quality time, took great care and was very communicative. Most cat sitters I’ve had in the past haven’t played with my cats, but Dawn made sure to get them some exercise! Thanks again!”

“Angelle took great care of my dog. I would definitely book with her again. I can tell she truly cares for the pets she is watching. When my dog was fussy with his food, she went above and beyond to get him to eat.”

About: I have been house sitting overnight since I was 14. I have experience working with dogs, cats, mice, and flying squirrels. Believe it or not, I have taken care of dogs who were indoor-trained only.I am also an experienced dog walker- not just with my own dogs but with friends' dogs that I've loved as my own. **serious inquiries only** please do not send me a booking request if you're going to ghost me after I respond or if you plan to book with another sitter. You'd be surprised by how often this happens. I abide by the safety precautions at the homes I stay at (fences, ring cameras, etc). When I stay with indoor cats, I take extra precautions when leaving the house to make sure the cats don't escape.

“Eden did a great job caring for my cats. It was reassuring to see the picture of my nervous kitty come out for her during the first visit! She went above and beyond. I will definitely hire her again!”

“Tova was fantastic! She watched our cat while we were away. She is an indoor/outdoor cat and Tova made sure she got plenty of time outside so she was a happy girl when we got back! Will definitely be using her services again.”

About: I currently work from home, so your pup gets plenty of company and attention throughout the day rather than being left alone for hours. Our days can include walks, playtime, backyard time, cuddles, or simply relaxing nearby while I work. I have a 2-year-old Black Lab/Boxer mix who is very friendly and loves having other dogs around. We also have a fully fenced-in yard where the dogs can safely get some fresh air, play, and stretch their legs. I’m comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines, and I’m happy to follow your pup’s normal schedule as closely as possible—including meals, walks, medications, and any special instructions. I also love sending photo updates, because I know how reassuring it is to see that your dog is happy and doing well while you're away. ❤️ Whether your dog is energetic and ready to play or prefers to curl up and relax, I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention, care, and companionship. If your pup is looking for a comfortable home-away-from-home, I’d love to meet you both! Because I work from home, your dog gets plenty of company and attention throughout the day! Our days can include walks, playtime, backyard time, cuddles, and plenty of relaxing while I work. I’m happy to follow your pup’s normal routine as closely as possible, whether they’re high-energy and ready to play or happier lounging beside me. I’ll also send regular photo updates so you can see how your pup is doing while you’re away. 🐶 Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I work from home, so I’m able to provide plenty of supervision and companionship throughout the day rather than leaving pets alone for long periods. For pets staying in my home, I have a fully fenced-in yard for safe outdoor time, and my 2-year-old Black Lab/Boxer mix is very friendly with other animals. I always make introductions gradually and pay close attention to each pet’s personality and comfort level. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine and any specific instructions you provide, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and other special needs. I also keep a close eye on pets indoors and outside and make sure doors, gates, and the yard are secure. Most importantly, I treat every pet in my care like they’re part of the family—and I’ll keep you updated with photos so you know your pup is happy and doing well!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Groton
I highly recommend Tova! She was absolutely wonderful with my cat. She was professional, reliable, and communicative. My cat is shy with new people but Tova was patient and loving with her. And even though this was a new experience for my cat, I could tell when I got home that she was not stressed at all. I have peace of mind knowing that she is in good hands with Tova and I plan to book her regularly. Thank you!

Melissa was absolutely wonderful with attention to detail and communication. We were away for 12 days and I felt my anxiety melt away after meeting with her and her first day of taking care of our cat. Thank you Melissa! We hope to be able to book with you in the future!
Faith was super flexible with our last minute needs- our normal sitter was unavailable and left us in a bind, and with one of our cats on a daily med, we were worried to find someone. Faith was able to meet the need, and gave both our boys the love they needed (and deserve!) lovely to know we can count on her and would highly recommend. Might just need to make her our regular!

Marii was great to work with; she had fantastic communication and my cats loved her, clearly having lots of cuddles and playtime in each visit. I appreciated the meet and greet before booking to make sure we were on the same page for care and so she could meet my cats and see their personalities. Looking forward to booking with her again and I'm sure my cats are too lol

I have had Dawn watch my Churchy twice now and each time she has been absolutely incredible. I will be using Dawn for all of my trips, especially with my boys special diet. Her understanding and willingness to love my boy as much as I do is outstanding! Thanks Dawn, until next time 🫶🏻

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Groton. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
