This was my first time ever leaving Ange. I was a little nervous, but everything went great over all. Carolina text me through out the day and made me feel so comfortable with me leaving Ange. I will definitely use Carolina in the near future.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by and caring for all kind of animals (even monkeys). Family, friends, colleagues, and strangers, have relied on me to care for their dogs, cats, and more for years; Knowing that I will love their pets like I love my own, my clients have confidence and trust when booking with me! As a full-time stay-at-home mom, I’m home the majority of the day and able to provide consistent care and attention. I intentionally only accept one additional dog at a time so each pet receives plenty of supervision and individualized care I have one dog, Ollie, that loves to play and keep every guest company. I am in a two story duplex with a small unfenced yard, but have an outdoor lead for potty breaks and plenty of areas for walking in my neighborhood. If necessary, for separation/calm down time, I have a baby gate available that can break up my kitchen and living room and I also have a spare room upstairs. There will be no instances where our pets are left alone unmonitored for the safety of both parties.

We were in town visiting from Virginia and needed to find someone to watch our baby Jax for a day. So glad we found Elisa! She was very responsive to our request and was able to accommodate our change in pick up time. I can tell her and her family treated Jax like one of their own because he adapted so quickly! And I can tell he had a lot of fun because he instantly went to sleep. We’ll definitely book Elisa again if we need another sitter when we’re back in town!

Mary Jo watched my dog and my sister’s (both anxious seniors) over the holiday weekend for daycare. We gave her weird hours and she accommodated us regardless, despite having little ones of her own. Drop off and pick up process was quick. It was late when we picked up so when a steel bowl was left behind she mailed it back, which we appreciated a lot. We trust her experience with dogs and are so happy the fur babies were safe and sound while we were away!

I can’t say enough good things about Sue! She was so incredibly accommodating and patient with my dog. My dog, Sadie, was uncharacteristically anxious and scared on our vacation. She was having a really hard time separating from me at all. Sue took the time to get her acclimated with the new environment and allowed me into her home to give Sadie time to adjust and get comfortable. She played calming music for Sadie and gave her her favorite treat- peanut butter. By the time we picked Sadie up, she was very happy and more back to herself. Sue gave Sadie so much love and attention the whole time I was at the aquarium. I was able to have a good time, knowing my dog was in good hands. Sue kept me updated on Sadie’s progress with texts, pictures and videos. I am so very grateful and would recommend Sue to anyone seeking a great pet sitter!

Lourdes “Luli” was a stellar and responsive caretaker of my 8 mo, high-energy Australian Shepherd puppy. I was a bit nervous to be her first Rover client, but felt immediate comfort on the meet and greet. She and her delightful, well-behaved pup, Tito, were exemplary hosts. She took all my concerns in stride and made sure that my puppy had a safe, enriching and engaging experience. She sent lots of photos documenting his play and nap time with his new buddy. Luli was flexible about the drop off when my schedule unexpectedly changed and was always quick to return texts. My dog came back happy and relaxed and literally pulled me to her doorway each day of our stay. Her home was immaculate and puppy safe, with a small secure, enclosed yard for play. I have nothing but the highest regard for Luli, and her professionalism and warmth towards both me and my dog! She clearly is a dog whisperer and my dog, very attached to us, but eager to be left with Luli, confirms this. I have no reservations about emphatically recommending her!

About: Hi, I’m Clara! Animals have been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve worked with pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments—from tiny parrots to towering horses—and I’m confident handling everything in between. I have experience with: • Puppies and young dogs (training, socialization, and lots of patience!) • Caring for a dog with frequent seizures and special health needs • Working at a large dog rescue in Mexico, rehabilitating street dogs with behavioral and medical issues of all sizes • Administering oral medications and following detailed care instructions • Senior pet care with extra attention and gentleness (my dog is epileptic so I know how to administer all seizure meds and the full protocol) • Basic training and reinforcing good behavior • Horse care from years of working in barns (feeding, grooming, handling) • Volunteering for a year at a parrot rescue, learning about specialized bird care I’m active and outdoorsy, so I love taking energetic dogs for runs, hikes, or long walks—but I’m just as happy giving older or calmer pets plenty of snuggles. Safety, compassion, and keeping your pets happy are my top priorities, and I’ll always send plenty of photo updates while you’re away. I’m currently completely open and very flexible with scheduling. I’m not working another job right now, so I can adjust to your pet’s exact needs—whether that’s early mornings, late nights, or last-minute bookings. Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first. In my home, pets must be friendly with other dogs, as I have my own, and everyone’s well-being is a top priority. We have a fully fenced yard for safe play and fresh air, and I love going on regular walks to keep pets happy and healthy. I’m very routine-oriented, so I’ll follow your pet’s feeding, exercise, and care schedule exactly as you request—whether in my home or yours. I make sure each animal feels secure, loved, and stress-free, with plenty of supervision, enrichment, and affection.

About: I’ve wanted a dog since my childhood dog passed away when I was 8. My parents never got another but now that I am living by myself I have a ton of love to give to any dog that comes to stay. I currently work full time but any free time I would love to fit your dog in my schedule! Reach out and we can figure something out. My apartment complex has a dog park right next to my apartment so I will utilize that to get the dog outside and moving around. The apartment is pretty spacious, so the dog won’t be cramped in a single bedroom all day.

About: Hi! I’m a third-year graduate student at Sacred Heart University working toward my doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, and I’d love to help care for your pets. I primarily offer dog walking services, but I’m also available for drop-in visits and overnight stays. I’ve had plenty of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats through pet sitting for friends, family and a multitude of Rover clients, as well as raising pets of my own. I’m comfortable with different temperaments, energy levels, and routines, and I always make sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for. My schedule is very flexible with the next few weeks on a break from classes, so I can often accommodate a variety of needs throughout the week or weekend. Whether your dog needs a reliable walking buddy, your cat needs some company, or you’re heading out of town, I’m here to help and treat your pets like my own! Rates are negotiable. Excited to meet your little ones! Carolina was great with my dog, Sadie. Sadie is very anxious and has separation anxiety from me, but she got comfortable in Carolina’s house very quickly. She was very happy and excited while she was there. From her behavior when I picked her up, I could tell she had a great time!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 202 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Groton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Groton commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 202 sitters in Groton, 91% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
