“Mary Jo took great care of millie on our long weekend up north in NY. Millie needed medicine administered during her stay and Mary Jo took good care to be sure she received it. We had forgotten to bring our dogs food and Mary Jo had spare food she graciously provided. Millie is happy and well brushed by her family. Thanks for caring for our Millie! Will use Mary Jo again:) Nice walking neighbor hood , large house, and large unfenced yard:) Great family! Rebecc and Bill”

About: I have loved and cared for all kinds of animals since I was young. Having every animal from cats to dogs, birds and guinea pigs, hamsters, snakes, lizards, turtles, and birds! I have experience training dogs as well as training service dogs. I can care for animals from birth to their senior years. I can safely bathe animals, feed, administer medication, and give souch love to them! I have a very flexible routine that allows me to accommodate the needs of many pet parents! I can make adjustments as needed and am happy to spend time with your loved four legged friend! I keep a clean, safe space for the animals I visit with. Unless otherwise noted, I keep a variety of treats and toys on hand and keep a large gravity water bowl available at all times.
“I felt very comfortable leaving my pup with Dana and Mathieu! Very nice set up with frequent outside time available, and I love that they do daily walks. Their 2 dogs are very calm and friendly which worked great as well”

“Joe took great care of Banjo! Banjo is super small and has a lot of anxiety around new places, but I could tell he settled in quickly and felt very comfortable. Would book with Joe again any time!”

“Brittany is amazing. She literally will treat your pet like her own and spoils them like they should be ❤️ I know my husky loves staying with her and she is my go to person! He even got a toy for Christmas. He gets so much exercise and love. Thank you Brittany!”

“We highly recommend using Stacey. Bandit stayed with her over the holiday weekend. He had a blast. We were very comfortable with her fenced in back yard. She was very communicative and sent lots of photos. We look forward to using Stacy again.”

“Serenity offered to meet our pups prior to their stay with her. She sent regular updates to let me know how they were doing. When we picked them up they seemed at ease. I will definitely reach out to her again when needed.”

“Phenomenal family! So wonderful to work with. We had to extend our dog’s stay and it was no problem. I can’t say enough about how wonderful they were to our dog. He was so well taken care of ….”

“Alexus took fantastic care of Toby when he stayed with her recently! She was very flexible with our schedule and was communicative throughout. I would have no hesitation working with her again in the future!”

“Laura was amazing! From the day we went over to meet her and see her home we knew our dog Rooster was in good hands. Throughout our time away Laura kept us updated with pics and videos showing how much fun he was having with the other dogs in her care. This meant so much! He came home happy, healthy, and I’m sure missing the fun he was having all day at Laura’s. We will definitely be using her for all future trips.”

“We are so grateful for Suzanne’s excellent care! She sent us regular updates and pics of him at play. He received cuddles and came home happy and well!! I highly recommend her and will be using her services again! Thank you again!!!”

“Jill and her husband Doug were great hosts for our young, active Border Collie. They went out of their way to meet our needs. I had mentioned that Louie liked to chase a Frisbee, and when we arrived Jill had added one to her big bucket of dog toys. I was happy about the big play yard, but while we were away I received some pictures from Jill of Louie and his pals running at the beach. What a great place to leave my pet!”

“Millie was well cared for by Catherine and her family. We had a weekend away and she was able to accommodate our drop off and pick up time slots. There were numerous photos which made us feel confident in her care. Great setting with a large yard and only other pet was their cat. Our spaniel does not always grt along with other dogs. Well done! Will viait again:)”

About: Having cared for 13 dogs and 4 cats (yes, we keep count), we've seen it all. Daily exercise and even bathing is quite familiar to us. Leo has hands-on experience with animal shelters, and I have biological based experience with both nutritional needs and animal anatomy, and we both can provide basic training. We currently have a year-old golden retriever and a tabby! We've dealt with a couple lovable (but difficult) pets and can deal with issues like stubbornness, biting, and basic potty training. Leo works from home, and I'm a commuter-basically, there's always someone home! We are both the "outdoorsy" type and frequent the devil's hop yard, as well as hike through our property. As STEM majors, animals keep us sane! We can also transport your pets (we have the seating and everything). Our property has a spacious (but secure) 100-acre forest, perfect for supervised walks and exploration! At home, our pets—a friendly Golden Retriever and a sweet Tabby—ensure your furry friend will never feel lonely. We can also provide crate time if needed for safety or comfort, and (given our flexibility) tailor care routines to meet each pet’s needs!
“Laura went above and beyond to make sure our first time leaving our puppy went smoothly. From thorough communication before the booking, to updates during our vacation, it was such a relief to know that he was in good hands (and also having fun too)! If we travel again and need dog care, I will definitely be checking Laura's availability; I'm so glad I found her!”

“I was extremely nervous leaving our 1 year old with someone other than my family as she hasn't left us since we adopted last July. However, my fears were calmed leaving Demi with Nuno. My husband had a great meet and greet and then she stayed with Nuno for a couple nights. Nuno has a wonderful friendly dog, Bisca, and a large yard for the dogs to play. He also has children who showered Demi with love also. ❤️ Great communication while he watched her and I'm already booking him again for our next weekend away!”

Karen was wonderful with my dog, Gus! She sent regular updates, photos, and videos throughout his stay. She even took him on a fun outing to Harkness and had so many positive things to say about him, which meant a lot to me. Karen is trustworthy, clearly cares about the dogs she watches, and treated mine like her own. I will absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her!

Nina was great! Our old girl Sadie is slowing down & has challenges & Nina was very patient and understanding. Sent us pictures regularly and the communication was great. Thank you, Nina, for taking care of our fur baby while we were away. It was the first time we've left her with someone for an extra-long period of time! We will definitely book you again!
My husband & I needed a much needed mini vacation. A friend suggested Rover & we met with Sabina before our trip. We knew right away that she was going to give the nurturing we were looking for. She sent daily pictures and reassured us all was well. She is the perfect care taker for your pet & we highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
