“Tina was wonderful with our dogs! She was clear with everything we needed to know, did everything we asked her to, and definitely spoiled our two Yorkies with attention, snuggles and playtime! We will ask her to sit for them again if we’re passing through to go to Great Wolf Lodge or Foxwoods.”

“There are not enough words to rave about Nadjeska. First time leaving our dogs at a sitters house and not a kennel. She made my two dogs feel right at home and was so unbelievably kind especially to my one dog who has anxiety and separation issues. She sent pics and texts constantly and is literally the best sitter out there. I know they will be so excited to return. She made us completely comfortable leaving them with her. Huge piece of mind. Do NOT hesitate to book with her.”

“Ryan did a great job taking care of Romeo for the 6 days I was on vacation. He sent daily pictures and updates and was responsive. I love that his kids were also involved in intersecting with/ caring for Romeo and I saw how playful the my were with him. I will definitely be booking with him again!”

“My Golden had a great stay with Connie and family. She sent photos, gave updates, and we met before at a dog park to make sure our dogs got along. He was well cared for, and even sent him home with a goodie bad with some treats. They are much more like professional caretakers and couldn’t recommend enough.”

“Archie had a great time with Suzanne and helpers! He was happy to se us but was sad to have today goodbye for now. We will continue to come to Suzanne as long as she continues to be there for us. She’s the best snd Archie gives her and kids a BIG HIGH FIVE!🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾”

“Stephen is a great pet sitter who looked after our beloved friend! We had a good opinion of him right away when we met him. He is very nice and pleasant, and he was excellent with Snowy! When we arrived to pick him up, he was calm and joyful. During Snowy's visit, Stephen sent us pictures of Snowy having fun, which was wonderful. I look forward to connecting with Stephen again in the future!! Thanks for doing such an excellent job; keep it up!!”

“I felt very comfortable leaving my pup with Dana and Mathieu! Very nice set up with frequent outside time available, and I love that they do daily walks. Their 2 dogs are very calm and friendly which worked great as well”

“Lois was wonderful!! She provided excellent care when boarding our cockapoo for several days. She loved Jasper (our dog) and was very easy to work with. Lois provided us with photos/videos each day that we were away. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Lois as an excellent caretaker for your pet. We would definitely want to have her care for Jasper again!”

“Lourdes was an absolute life saver! I needed someone to watch my dog for a couple hours super last minute and she came through. Picked him up and treated him like family with no hesitation! I would absolutely booked her 1000 times again! Thank you so much!”

“I highly recommended Sherry, she’s an angel! She had our Finn finn for 6 days and it was our first time to get a dog sitter. We are a bit uneasy at first coz our dog still needs training. (Not friendly with other humans and dogs he just met) also there’s the barking situation. She’s an angel bcos she was able to gain our dog’s trust at a very short period of time and our dog didn’t give any problem at all. A Complete turnaround to what we were expecting. (Big Sigh of relief ?) We enjoyed our vacation and didn’t even worried about our dog bcos she never fails to update us. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely book her again. P.S we came back to get his crate and our dog was sooo happy to see her and he let her pet him, no sweat. We never saw our dog that happy whenever we go to our sis in law’s house and every time they tried to pet him, he will dodge. ? It’s just amazing experience overall.”

“We were very happy with Sophie’s time with Joe, Kelly, and their sweet young son. We arranged a quick visit ahead of time for Sophie to meet them and to see their home and space. They communicated effectively and sent pics during our vacation. We will definitely use them again, should we need care for Sophie.”

“Melissa was very easy to deal with and our dog Sammy seems to have had a great time with her. Melissa gave us several updates on Sammy and sent us lots of pictures of her adventures. I would definitely recommend Melissa to anyone.”

“My girls took to Dani immediately. She checked their bags & instructions right away & immediately contacted me to let me know one dogs meds wete missing & offered a solution that worked. She sent lots of photos showing us they were playing, napping & eating on time. We are visiting family 1200+ miles from home . It was a relief to find Dani to take care of our girls fir overnight. We highly recommend Dani.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - East Lyme
Shannon was very easy to work with. She has a great set up for dogs and is very clearly a dog lover. She sent us updates during the week and our pup came home happy. She was up front in communication that there would potentially be multiple dogs and we had a meet and greet before our trip to make sure Sophie was comfortable there and with other dogs. It was a positive experience and I would recommend Shannon to anyone.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
