“Phenomenal family! So wonderful to work with. We had to extend our dog’s stay and it was no problem. I can’t say enough about how wonderful they were to our dog. He was so well taken care of ….”

“Wonderful, caring, considerate, and responsible family boarded our two pomskies. Responsive and communicative - sent pictures and updates. Dogs got walked and played with. Medicine was successfully administered. Generous and flexible- dogs were able to stay a few extra days to accommodate some changes in our plans. Dogs were well taken care of, would definitely book with Matt B again.”

“Thank you Tina for taking such great care of our dog Zoe. She is skeptical of most new people but took to you and your family quickly. We enjoyed our time away knowing that Zoe was so happy and cozy with you!”

“Joe took great care of Banjo! Banjo is super small and has a lot of anxiety around new places, but I could tell he settled in quickly and felt very comfortable. Would book with Joe again any time!”

“Gigi had a fabulous time staying with Ariel, as evidenced by the photos of her racing around with a few of her new best dog friends that Ariel sent us each day of our six-day trip. From her description of her property, Ariel's accommodations stood out, with its big, fenced backyard and in-the-house living for dog guests. Although leash walks were an additional option, we knew Gigi would want to run and play. She came fitter, sleeker, and a happy dog. We will definitely book with her again.”

“Catherine was an excellent boarder for our dog Forest. She is a true dog lover, and her home is welcoming and with a large yard, ideal for our active dog Forest. During his one-week stay, she provided regul;ar updates and photos. Forest came home a happy pup! My wife and I highly recommend Catherine.”

“They were attentive to my dogs needs. They cared for my beagle’s well being. They sent me regular updates of how he was doing and pictures. I do recommend them and will go back again.”

“We love Julius and so does our pup! We've used his family so many times and each time has been easy and no problems at all. It's so nice having peace of mind that our pup is loved and well cared for.”

About: I have taken care and have had dogs and other animals for all my life until recently no dogs and miss having one around.. I have always trained my own dogs with basic commands. I sit my moms larhr dogs every couple months when she travels. I make my own schedule, and it is partly in person and partly at home. I always have the weekends and evenings off. Flexible schedule. I love going for walks and prefer to have a companion. I have a large yard, partially fenced. I have chickens and cats that are spoiled. I am a very clean person, am thoughtful, and always aware of my surroundings.

“Miranda and her family took exceptional care of my two dogs and treated them like they were a part of their family while my husband and I were away. Miranda sent me pictures and let me know how they were doing periodically which was greatly appreciated. She was also able to accept the booking with short notice and her rates were very affordable. I highly recommend Miranda if you are in need of a dog sitter and I will definitely be reaching out to her in the future! Thanks Miranda!”

“Terry is a wonderful pet sitter and it's obvious how much she cares for and considers the well being of the animals she is watching. She was so responsive to my initial message, setting up a time to chat and then an in-person meet and greet. She made sure she understood everything about our pups routine and schedule and that it would be a good fit with her cat Oliver. She made it possible for us to have a last minute family getaway and v watched our pup Finn for 2 nights / 3 days and took amazing care and communicated with us with pictures throughout. I will absolutely request Terry again to watch Finn and would recommend her to anyone else! Thank you Terry!”

About: I have loved and cared for all kinds of animals since I was young. Having every animal from cats to dogs, birds and guinea pigs, hamsters, snakes, lizards, turtles, and birds! I have experience training dogs as well as training service dogs. I can care for animals from birth to their senior years. I can safely bathe animals, feed, administer medication, and give souch love to them! I have a very flexible routine that allows me to accommodate the needs of many pet parents! I can make adjustments as needed and am happy to spend time with your loved four legged friend! I keep a clean, safe space for the animals I visit with. Unless otherwise noted, I keep a variety of treats and toys on hand and keep a large gravity water bowl available at all times.

“Jared is amazing! I would trust him to take care of any of my animals. Ruby, our Frenchie, was recently diagnosed with IVDD and had to undergo emergency spinal surgery, where she still remains paralyzed in her hind legs. She requires diapers and medications and lots of love during this long and slow recovery. We were already booked for a 10 day vacation. Thankfully I trusted my gut and found Jared here and he took the absolute BEST care of her for her 5 day stay. She required A LOT and as a VERY nervous mom I didn’t worry one day. He sent lots of updates and pics and I knew Ruby was having a great time, even being separated from us. It was so sweet seeing her play with all her new friends. I wouldn’t ever hesitate leaving Ruby in Jared’s care. THANK YOU ??❤️”

About: Hello! I’ve taken care of my own pets since I was young, for about 8 years now as well as dog sat my older sisters two dogs and my oldest sisters three cats. I’ve also house sat for my cousins and grandparents various animals over the years and I love it. Meeting new pets warms my heart and brings me comfort as i’m not from the area it would be nice to get to meet some people from the area and make some new furry friends. I currently work nights so i’m free to pop over in the morning or afternoon and check in on the pets when needed or give them a walk! I love going on walks with my pets so if you want your pet to get a good walk in i’m your gal! I also really enjoy trying to teach pets new tricks with treats and positive reinforcement, and bathing animals so I offer bathing/groom services if needed.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
