About: I have owned dogs my entire life. My friends and family have depended on me while they are away on vacation or working long days. I have begun offering my services to the general public. My love for animals has always been strong. I actually prefer animals over humans! I recently became CPR certified for both cats and dogs so you will have peace of mind when your pets are in my care. I am a self-employed professional with a very flexible schedule working mostly remote. This gives me the opportunity to care for your pets when needed. I offer overnight stays in the comfort of your home or a flexible walking schedule as needed. I realize every household has different needs and I will try to accommodate.
“Tom and Erica are simply the best! I have used their service for drop-ins several times. They always acknowledge any last minute directions for feedings, etc.. My Aussie loves them and I love that they leave updates and send photos. I am totally confident that Sallie is well cared for and given tons of love when either of them is here.”

“Jade was excellent with June my German Shepherd! She was on time and did everything that we had agreed-upon. She took extra care and giving cuddles and fun time. She also gave attention to mittens my crazy cat. Couldn’t ask for a better Dog Sitter.”

“If I could give a 1000 stars I would!!! Torie was absolutely a gem. It was last minute and she truly is Mrs Dolittle. Willow our dachshund had such an amazing time. And went right to Torie i know he felt loved because, the pictures really tell a story. Thank you soo much Torie for loving him the way we do. We will be forever thankful to you. Love Willow and his family.”

“Cayton was so great with my pup, Kala! We just moved to the area and have been looking for a dog walker. We booked a drop-in appt for Sat evening and Sun morning and Cayton made a trip out prior to the drop-ins to meet us and Kala, which was something we very much appreciated! Kala has always been a good judge of character and she loved Cayton, so we knew she was in good hands. Cayton gave us detailed updates with pictures for both drop-ins, which was great. Kala was very well taken care of and we plan on using Cayton in the future.”

About: I have been house sitting overnight since I was 14. I have experience working with dogs, cats, mice, and flying squirrels. Believe it or not, I have taken care of dogs who were indoor-trained only.I am also an experienced dog walker- not just with my own dogs but with friends' dogs that I've loved as my own. **serious inquiries only** please do not send me a booking request if you're going to ghost me after I respond or if you plan to book with another sitter. You'd be surprised by how often this happens. I abide by the safety precautions at the homes I stay at (fences, ring cameras, etc). When I stay with indoor cats, I take extra precautions when leaving the house to make sure the cats don't escape.
About: I've cared for the fuzzy family members of friends, family friends, and work friends for years. My own pets have been mostly senior rescues from owners who could no longer care for them. I have experience with medication, drop-ins, house-sitting, and more. I am currently an artist with open commissions, so my schedule is flexible and made for your pets. I usually crochet or draw when I care for lower-energy animals, and love playing with those with more energy. I am a no-shoes-in-house kind of person, and can bring separate house shoes if preferred. I am no stranger to cleaning up pet accidents. I keep to the living areas of the home, unless the pets are kept elsewhere, and provide a quiet presence for more introverted or timid animals. I ensure to adhere to the idea of "leave no trace", as though your home is the natural habitat for your pets.
“Amazing pet sitter! Dawn took care of my crew for a couple days and spent quality time, took great care and was very communicative. Most cat sitters I’ve had in the past haven’t played with my cats, but Dawn made sure to get them some exercise! Thanks again!”

About: I have experience with pet sitting, walking, and drop in visits. I am looking forward to hearing the needs of your fur baby to have them enjoy their time to the max! I have free time to care for your pet as I work from home and my family is prepared and ready to help when needed! We have space for your pet to enjoy and share our home. We have places and a bed they can go to relax and we love to take them out to play and sniff around in the yard.
“Ashley is so amazing! She is great with sending pictures and updates on my cats and she takes the time to give them love and attention, which is much appreciated while I’m away! Highly recommend”

“Nina did a great job taking care of my cat Rudy! He needs a daily pill and she was able to give it to him. She sent daily photos of Rudy and kept in contact when she had questions.”

“Carolyn was fantastic! This was the first time we used a cat sitter while we were away, but we had nothing to worry about with Carolyn. She was so great with our cat- she really took lots of time with him and made him feel comfortable and loved while we were gone. She kept us updated each day (and made us laugh with her daily reports and photos of our cat). Would highly recommend Carolyn!”

About: I ensure the highest quality care for my own pets, and I will make it my priority to do the same for yours! As long as I can remember I’ve had pets, and they’ve always been a passion of mine. I work full time from home during the week until 5pm! I am able to provide drop in visits in the evenings and then multiple times a day on weekends. I am unable to accept pets in my own home at the moment, however what ever you need done within your own home I will make sure is done correctly and in a timely manner!
“Annette is amazing she took great care of our dog while we were away. She was even willing to do an extra visit when we had an unexpected plane delay at the last minute. Highly recommend Annette and will book with again if the need arises.”

“Emily was great! We did a meet and greet before the day of the check-in to make sure Maple (our dog) could warm up and be comfortable with her. She sent us pictures of Maple during the check-in and let us know Maple was behaved on her walk. We will definitely use Emily again when the opportunity presents! Thank you so much Emily!!!”

About: Dog owner of a golden doodle for 15 years. I am very flexible with hours, trustworthy, very friendly, responsible and I love all dogs. I am very reasonable and I will make sure I treat and take care of each dog as best as I can. I love and care for my dog more than anything and I will make sure to treat your dog as well as I treat mine. I enjoy going on walks with my goldendoodle and even runs sometimes if she isn’t too tired. I will be very professional with every visit and I will follow any rules or guidelines that are specific to the care needs of your pet. As mentioned before, I am very flexible with any hours needed. I’m currently visiting the moncks corner/Summerville area for the area and living with my fiancé. I don’t have any other job down here, so I can stay and watch your pet as long as you need me to! Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Niantic. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
