About: I am a cat person at heart. I initially started volunteering at my local animal shelter so I could be around cats because I was unable to have a cat of my own due to my family's allergies. Little did I know, this would spawn a lifelong passion for animal care, particularly for cats. Now, as an adult, working at a luxury cat boarding kennel has allowed me to pursue my passion as a career! I have had the unique opportunity to work with a wide variety of cats spanning from enormous Maine Coons to sleek Bombays and spry kittens to leisurely elders. At the animal shelter, I developed particular love for special needs and elderly kitties, which I have been able to further develop through my kennel work. I have cared for cats as old as twenty and cats with a variety of medical conditions such as cerebellar hypoplasia, FIV, FeLV, hyperthyroidism, seizures, feline herpesvirus, arthritis, amputations, blindness, and deafness. About: Around age 24, I adopted a cat who was extremely shy and nervous. t took me 3 months of work to be able to touch her but it was so worth it! I always made sure she had all of the love and care she needed. She was very particular about having a clean litter box (we agreed there!) and with her food and treats. I bought her a water fountain when I noticed she was making more of a mess with her water bowl than she seemed to be drinking. I still miss her, but memories of her and her memorial tattoo on my inner wrist help me through each day.

“Lourdes “Luli” was a stellar and responsive caretaker of my 8 mo, high-energy Australian Shepherd puppy. I was a bit nervous to be her first Rover client, but felt immediate comfort on the meet and greet. She and her delightful, well-behaved pup, Tito, were exemplary hosts. She took all my concerns in stride and made sure that my puppy had a safe, enriching and engaging experience. She sent lots of photos documenting his play and nap time with his new buddy. Luli was flexible about the drop off when my schedule unexpectedly changed and was always quick to return texts. My dog came back happy and relaxed and literally pulled me to her doorway each day of our stay. Her home was immaculate and puppy safe, with a small secure, enclosed yard for play. About: Having cared for 13 dogs and 4 cats (yes, we keep count), we've seen it all. Daily exercise and even bathing is quite familiar to us. Leo has hands-on experience with animal shelters, and I have biological based experience with both nutritional needs and animal anatomy, and we both can provide basic training. About: When I was young, 4 or 5 years old, I'd go with my grandparents when they took care of the neighborhood animals - cats, dogs, and sheep. I really enjoyed their Siamese cats that they adopted from neighbors down the road. When I was 10, my family got Maxx - a Golden Retriever/Samoyed mix. He became diabetic and needed insulin shots later on, and I helped administer those. After I became an adult, I adopted 2 cats with a partner. When we split, I took the cat that had bonded with me and cared for her until she passed at age 18. She developed thyroid disease and it took me a while to figure out how to get her meds in her, but I did and she had a much higher quality of life. I also switched to feeding her Gerber baby food (she preferred that brand over Beechnut, I'm not kidding) when she started to get even fussier about her food. Before that I helped care fore my grandparents' Siamese - I would microwave small chunks of hamburger for him and give him subcutaneous water treatments at home, and he ACTUALLY sat quietly and patiently during the treatments, the vet couldn't believe it! **I particularly enjoy, and excel at, working with older pets, pets with special needs, and shy or skittish pets.** As of right now, pet care fits into my schedule quite easily. I am currently pet-/house-sitting full time, and greatly enjoying meeting all types of pets and their humans! I care for pets in their homes, staying with them. My priority is getting emergency contact numbers, and procedures in case of emergency. I follow pets’ normal daily routines as closely as possible, and make sure to give them plenty of love, attention, exercise, play, and socialization.
About: Hi! I’m Dina, a lifelong animal lover based in Niantic, CT. I recently moved to the area with my husband, Collin, who works at Millstone, and our very spoiled fur baby, Leo the cat. Although I’m new to Rover and still fairly new to the area, I’m definitely not new to pet care. I’m 33 years old and have been pet sitting since middle school, caring for both dogs and cats through long-term stays, drop-in visits, walks, feeding routines, litter changes, and playtime. About: I’m a teacher on summer break and love dogs. I’ve grew up with 2 German shepherds and a bull mastiff. I adopted my own mix breed a little over a year ago. I have babysat several family member and friends dogs. I’ve driven dogs to weddings for pictures and home. I’m a very active person and love walking. I’m a teacher on break and a dog mom myself. I am flexible during the summer and a very active person. I love taking dogs for walks or throwing the ball in the yard. I have grown up with dogs and adopted my own dog last year. I understand how important schedules are for pups. I am able to walk, feed, crate, and play for all size pups.
About: I’ve had multiple dogs my whole life ranging from chihuahuas, to Alaskan malamutes, pitmix, to dogs you just aren’t sure what they are but that just makes them all the more lovable. I love being active so taking dogs for a walk gives me even more of an excuse to be outside to run around. I also love meeting new dogs and ensuring they get the enrichment they need throughout the day while their human is out doing what they need to do. I love to teach dogs new tricks or to see them learn how to walk on a leash better. My goal is to always make sure the dog is well taken care of and ready for the day ahead after a much needed walk. I am currently working part time so I love filling in what time I can with helping dogs. With work schedules for most people getting more hectic, I help where I can. I’ve walked elderly dogs who have back problems, and puppies who are petrified of the harness attached to them. I show dogs patience in their life circumstances so they can get the most enjoyment.
About: Hello! I just finished my master’s and am looking to pick up some dog-walking and pet-sitting gigs as I apply for jobs. I have experience caring for dogs and cats of various sizes, temperaments, and ages. I have worked in a doggy daycare and a pet store and have had pets of my own. My schedule is very flexible and I have reliable transportation I put your pet’s comfort level first. I start out quiet and calm, and follow the animal’s cues to make sure they don’t get overstimulated. From there, I am patient and gentle as I develop an affectionate relationship with the pets :)

I have pretty open availability as far walking or house sitting is concerned. I can take your pups out into the backyard and play with them as long as it's fenced or we can go out for leashed walks. If the kitties are comfortable with me around them I'd love to play with them but I won't push their comfort zone if that's not something they want. We'll coexist in the same space peacefully.
