“Erika was an amazing pet sitter for our two pups. She sent daily updates with a ton of photos. She was really attentive to my pups and I could tell by her messages that she was really paying attention to their individual needs and she really learned their own distinct personalities fairly well. One of our pups is very wary of new people and even she loved Erika faster than anyone else she’s ever met. Our pups had epilepsy and she was very mindful to keep an eye on her and she was very communicative around things she noticed around her. Unfortunately, our pup did end up having a seizure while we were away but I am so glad we had someone like Erika who was able to stay calm and give her the meds she needed plus keep an eye out for any secondary seizures (which thankfully never happened). I would highly recommend Erika and we will be using her again. :)”

“A pet sitting angel! I was freaking out because of a last minute cancellation from another sitter, but Alex came to my rescue and took over the booking. Turns out that the other sitter cancelling was the best thing that could have happened because Alex is everything I could ever want from a sitter. They were incredibly responsive to my messages, they gave frequent updates throughout the day complete with photos, they administered medication to both my cats, they went above and beyond to even clean up the place while I was away…but most importantly, my boys seemed to absolutely adore them! For dogs, I offer gentle, reliable walks to help them stay active and happy. I make sure all pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved, paying attention to their routines and personalities so every visit is tailored to them. I provide daily cat care and dog visits on a semi-flexible schedule. Morning visits: M,W,TH,F 8:30/9am-9:30am and 9am-9:30am on Saturdays Mid-day visits: Wednesday 10:00–1:30pm Evenings: M,Th,S 6pm - any Unavailable: Tuesdays (Sabbath) & Sundays I do not provide overnight care at this time- sorry! Note: I work full-time, so a little flexibility with visit times is appreciated. Allyson was amazing! She sent pics of our pups every day, which we loved! She stayed at our place for 7 nights and while I will say we were a little nervous since it was our first time using Rover for overnight stays, we had nothing to worry about, she was awesome. She even took the sheets of our bed and took the trash out right before she left the last day. Would definitely use her again!! 6 stars from us!
Kathryn S was AMAZING!!! (She felt like family immediately when we met her). We are relatively new to Portland, so hadn’t found anyone yet to stay with our 65-pound dog…. Kathryn was like a second “Mom” to our boy—-and sent us updates and pictures daily. We totally enjoyed our vacation worry-free because of Kathryn.
Alexis was great - conscientious and attentive with our elderly dachshund and his finicky ways. She carefully monitored his medications, food, and sleep habits and sent us many great pictures and updates. She left the house spotless and watered plants as requested. We’d love to have her return when we next travel!
Alex, was fantastic and we've already hired him again to watch our pets and home while we're away. Our family had very important event out of town this past weekend and Alex was perfect in giving us peace of mind that everything at home was taken care of. He was self-sufficient and just gave us periodic updates with photos of the pets so we could just focus on our event. Thank you, Alex, we'll see you in a couple of weeks!
Wendi did a wonderful job taking care of Oliver, our 12 year old orange kitty. She shared many photos and provided lots of good communication during her stay. Our home was clean and organized when we returned home from our trip. I highly recommend her if you need a caring and reliable pet sitter.
As always Sue was amazing with all of my animals and I do believe my house may have been cleaner than when I left. She sends so many great photos and I feel like our animals are in great hands and I never have to worry about them. Makes me feel just a little less guilty when we plan trips to locations that are not pet friendly. I love knowing that they are at home where they are more comfortable and that Sue is there keeping them happy with lots of lap time snuggles.
Jessica was wonderful with our dogs and took excellent care of them for a long weekend. She managed amazingly well with our 15-yr-old high needs dog and ensured she took her pills and ate her food, which is no small feat. She left the house clean and tidy, and the dogs seemed happy and relaxed.
John is incredible. He stayed at our home for 11 days, took good care our four dogs that have varying needs, watered our garden and house plants, and even helped us setting up bedrooms (washing linens and making the beds) for our friends visiting out of town. We recommend John for anyone in need of trusted care giver (and a friend)!
Jami was great with my dogs. She took away the anxiety I had over leaving my dogs for a week. I received frequent check-ins to let me know the dogs were doing well and she left my house clean and tidy. One of my dogs recently had spine surgery and has a long list of restrictions and instructions. jami did a great job with him, following the instructions and making sure he was well cared for. My other dog also requires some special attention and she handled them both so well. I'll definitely be using her again when I travel.
Rachael was great! At our meet & greet, she was gentle and sweet with our very frail elderly kitties, and we felt they would be in good hands. She was comfortable dealing with our very detailed med and feeding instructions, which can all be overwhelming for some sitters. She left the house clean and was low-maintenance as a sitter, and we greatly appreciated her helping us out in a pinch--we had to book at the last minute and had a lot of uncertainty about our dates, but Rachael just rolled with it all! When we got home, the kitties seemed content and cared for. We will be happy to have Rachael back!
Chelsee is amazing! Her love for animals is clear from the moment you meet her. We have a dog that is anxious when she meets people, and Chelsee was patient and calm and put her at ease.
