Caris was the BEST! We were leaving town on short notice and Caris didn’t hesitate to watch our boy for the first time. I knew from the moment I met her and she met Oliver, that he would be well taken care of. She sent photos and updates every day, many times per day which put me at ease. I would definitely recommend Caris to anyone!

Tristyn was a godsend. We needed last minute doggy care at our house for our little spaniel. Tristyn immediately responded with warmth, knowledge and understanding. The next day she arrived right on time, had a gentle energy and took care of our pet. Her rate was reasonable. Her personality was pleasant and respectful. I am so lucky I have her to count on in the future. Thanks Tristyn.

Laura was absolutely awesome! Laura truly was the best! She took the very beat care of our home and dogs. Our dogs (who are a bit needy and one special needs) had a smooth and seamless transition into her care. She was thought forward, kind, caring, diligent and followed all our dogs care needs and schedule perfectly. She treated our pups and our home as her own and we are so GRATEFUL! We feel so blessed to have met her and to have her care for our beloved dogs. We were very impressed & our dogs were never so calm upon our return ever. She is wonderful and comes highly recommended and we definitely hope to use her again.

About: I’ve had two of my own dogs and fostered 4 puppies. I’m definitely a hands off kind of sitter, i let the dog come to me on their own terms. If they want to cuddle let’s go if they want to sleep on their bed, jah bless. I love having pets in my space. I adore dogs and need them in my life but i don’t want to my own right now. Your dog helps me keep my day moving. I have a door to the patio outside of my office/bedroom. The only issue would be dogs who can’t do stairs. We have a pee spot in the patio if it’s really bad weather.

And when we got stuck in a hurricane and couldn’t get home, she handled everything and made my life simple by ensuring my dog was well taken care of for TWO extra days.

About: I feel as though I automatically connect with animals first in a room full of people. I have a deep love for animals. I have been caring for my puggle for about 8 years now, I truly feel as though he is my son. I enjoy spending time with animals of all sorts. In the past, I owned a rabbit, hamsters, fish, cats, hermit crabs, you name it. But, I find that dogs often times have personalities that they portray of the owner when I interact dogs, which I find very amusing. I have a knowledge base of bathing dogs, tick and flea prevention, immunizations, etc. I feel as though I am a very energetic/active individual who would very much enjoy the company of your most trusted companion!

About: Hi there! 🐾 My partner and I both grew up around dogs, have had our own dogs, and are foster dog parents. We'd love the opportunity to cuddle and take the very best care of your pup. Think of us as your dog's godparents! We know how hard it can be to leave your fur babies. We would love to ease that worry for you and send photos/videos and keep you updated throughout the stay! We both work from home so we will stay with your pet. With our flexible schedule, we'll be able to keep to your dog's normal routine and schedule with walks, potty, meal time, and play time! We have crates, beds, and plenty of treats and toys. We also have a huge fenced-in yard where we can play fetch and run around. I believe dogs need to be stimulated mentally and physically. In addition to getting good exercise through daily walks, I also have lots of toys and balls, sniff mats, lick mats, and food puzzles. I also enjoy training dogs so your dog may come home having learned a new trick!

About: I’ve always had multiple dogs and cats in my household since I was a little kid and grew up naturally wanting to take care of them. After leaving my family home, I adopted my own 2 kitties and currently live with 2 other cats and 2 dogs. Along with this, I worked as a manager at Playtime Pet Resort for a year, a doggy daycare and boarding facility, while also working in the yards as well as taking care of the dogs overnight when I lived at the facility for about 5 months. I recently moved to the area from the city and I am currently not working so I have a completely open availability at the moment. I am completely comfortable and enjoy adhering to a list of instructions for your pets. I have no issues with crate training or giving oral or topical medications to pets as well, this is something I’m very used to doing with working at a pet resort.

We cannot recommend Adam enough as a house/dog sitter. It is always so hard to find someone trustworthy enough to stay in our home and take care of our amazing boy. Adam was communicative, trustworthy, and reliable allowing for us to have a relaxing vacation knowing that our pup was safe. We have a 2 year old doberman who is not always the quickest to warm up to people, however he took to Adam quickly and truly enjoy his stay with him. In addition, the house was in excellent condition when we returned and Loki was happy and well exercised. Will absolutely book Adam again for future sitting opportunities and strongly recommend him to sit your pup.

Mary was absolutely amazing and took really good care of my Furbaby. This was our first experience with house sitting, using someone who wasn't a family member. However, from the first video chat, we knew that Mary was the best person for the job. She has such a sweet and calming demeanor, which helped to ease all of our nervousness. Mary sent us daily updates and pictures, which showed how happy and at ease my dog was. Mary went above and beyond and we are forever grateful to her. Mary is officially a part of our family and we will definitely be using her for all of our future trips.

Amelia was absolutely incredible with my dog, Henry, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. From the moment I left, I had complete peace of mind knowing he was in such caring and capable hands. She followed all of his routines so thoughtfully, paid close attention to his eating habits, made sure he was comfortable, and genuinely treated him like he was her own. Henry can be a little particular at times, and Amelia was so patient and attentive to his needs. It was clear that she truly cares about animals and goes above and beyond to make them feel safe, loved, and happy. She also kept me updated throughout my trip, which meant so much while I was traveling. Every message and photo reassured me that Henry was thriving and getting plenty of love and attention. Coming home to a happy, relaxed dog says everything. Amelia is reliable, communicative, compassionate, and an all-around wonderful pet sitter. I would trust her with Henry again in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pet.

Michael was awesome. I was able to book him in a pinch after another sitter had to cancel. He is calm, experienced, and Porter was well cared for while we were gone. He communicated with me daily 2-3x day, asked questions if they came up and dealt with a power outage that lasted about 20 hours. It rained a large part of the time we were gone and he diligently walked Porter in the rain. When we got home everything was in order. Dog towels were washed and the house was as we left it. We have used him in the past and will continue to use his services in the future for our dog. We were out of the country and knowing we had a responsible and capable dog sitter was essential.

I cannot say enough good things about Maia. You can tell when a person truly loves animals and our dog knew from the start that Maia is one of those people. She has been amazing with our senior dog. She takes special care to ensure that she is not over-exercised or left outside in extreme weather. When she watched our girl during a blizzard, she even shoveled a pathway in the snow so that Pandora could get outside to do potty. I always get lots of pictures and updates. Maia is a true gem and I highly recommend her.

Jessica exceeded every expectation! I was out of the country for 10 days. Jessica house sat and took care of my two 11-year-old cats. My boy needs meds every morning and evening. She made great effort to make sure he got the meds, especially the first couple of days when he was getting used to her. She actually brought gates from her home and moved furniture so that she could give my boy his meds. She texted me every day with updates and pictures. I recommend her without hesitation. She's great!

FAQs for House Sitting - Glenolden

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Glenolden on Rover is $77.7 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 5,531 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Glenolden. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Glenolden walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Glenolden maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Glenolden choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Glenolden. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
