Veterinarian

I'm a veterinarian studying for boards at the end of the summer. Comfortable caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds. My personal dog is shy and I've learned plenty of patience from her, so all temperaments are also welcome! I understand that being away can be stressful (for both the owner and the pet!), but I'm happy to provide plenty of pictures for you, and play for your pet! Because of my job I am also confident in administering medications or adjusting to pets individual medical needs. As someone who has used pet sitting and walking services myself, I know exactly what I would want for my pet, and would love to be able to do the same for others! I'm also comfortably caring for other small animals (cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, and fish - you name it!). I’m a current veterinary student working from home 7 days/ week. Occasional labs lasting about 3h is the longest I’m ever out of the house and no more than once/ week. Very comfortable working with owners to find a schedule that works great for them and their pets! I have a large and secure fenced in yard where your dog can run free. I have a senior lab mix who doesn’t really care about anything going on around her. I have a younger 35lb puggle mix who loves to play! If your dog is uncomfortable around other dogs our house is large enough to separate our dogs comfortably for doggy daycare. For longer stays I’m happy to come over and keep your furry pal company. Open to whatever you and your dogs comfort levels are. Ideal for pets with special needs (medication administration, injections)

Amelia was absolutely incredible with my dog, Henry, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. From the moment I left, I had complete peace of mind knowing he was in such caring and capable hands. She followed all of his routines so thoughtfully, paid close attention to his eating habits, made sure he was comfortable, and genuinely treated him like he was her own. Henry can be a little particular at times, and Amelia was so patient and attentive to his needs. It was clear that she truly cares about animals and goes above and beyond to make them feel safe, loved, and happy. She also kept me updated throughout my trip, which meant so much while I was traveling. Every message and photo reassured me that Henry was thriving and getting plenty of love and attention. Coming home to a happy, relaxed dog says everything. Amelia is reliable, communicative, compassionate, and an all-around wonderful pet sitter. I would trust her with Henry again in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pet.

Amelia was great with checking in on our cats! She took care of all of their litter, food, water and took time to play with both of them. She also helped out by taking our mail inside for us and she provided a LOT of picture updates (10+ per visit) of our cats which was great for us to see the amazing care they were in with Amelia. Will absolutely hire Amelia again for watching our cats.

Amelia was extremely sensitive to the needs of my 16.5 year old dog. Knowing she was taking care of Lilly allowed me to focus on my obligations as a medical student in the hospital. She was very easy to communicate with and her reports (on Rover Cards) always gave me an accurate sense of what was happening with Lilly during the day.

A typical day

Walks to the park, fetch in a backyard, or a good tug of war with their favorite toy! I’ve known many dogs so am happy to work to figure out what YOUR dog enjoys and how to make them happy and comfortable! If your dog likes rigorous hikes, I’ll grab my boots! If a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood sniffing everything is more their thing, I’m happy to take as long as they need. Tell me about what makes your dogs tail wag!
