Information Paz L. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if there are any disabilities or sensitivities your pet may have! I'm experienced in making accommodations for reactivity, phobias, and other behavioral conditions.
A typical day
I am very flexible and tend to go with the routine set up by the pet parents ahead of time. I'm experienced in a number of dog sports including obedience, retrieval, herding, agility, and scent work and often draw from that when playing with higher energy and working dogs. I am also open to providing low-energy cuddles, love, and attention for the senior and low drive dogs and cats or focusing more on mental stimulation if requested.

Specializing in Special Needs
Pet care experience
Since the early 2000s I have cared for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, rats, ferrets, chickens, horses, iguanas, snakes, turtles, and a handful of exotic bird species in varying capacities in pet and veterinary/industry environments. I am experienced in administering oral, transdermal, and subcutaneous medications mostly in dogs and cats but willing to learn more species and routes of administration as needed. I was also a part of Puppy Raisers of UD and worked closely in conjunction with Seeing Eye Inc in raising service dog prospects. In addition I was a research assistant in one of UD's avian study programs, working with their chickens and learning how nutrition impacted egg production. I grew up with GSDs, worked with trainers on constructively redirecting their energies as a child, and helped with their end of life and eldercare for those with health issues. I also volunteered and worked summers as a student veterinary assistant at Falls Road Animal Hospital and their boarding facility, I've also assisted the developmentally disabled in an equine therapy program. My own two cats are special needs rehabilitated ferals.

Reviews

Beyond my expectations, she followed directions to the tea, tee and kept me informed for every feeding every medicine administration and also packages the were delivered. Would highly recommend her and definitely will use her again in the future.

Paz is always so easy to work with and takes amazing care of our dog. She provides lots of updates and has great communication. We would highly recommend her!

Louie really enjoyed his time with Paz. She is a great pet sitter, and even though it’s hard to leave my little pup, I feel very comfortable leaving him in her care. She sent pictures and reports multiple times per day to let me know my little guy was well cared for, and I really appreciate that!!
Paz is outstanding. She sends reminders and confirmations well ahead of time, always arrives on time, comes remarkably well prepared, and is extremely well equipped to handle my reactive dog. Paz takes extensive notes and asks follow-up questions to ensure she has all the information she needs to do her work thoroughly. Paz is well versed in positive reinforcement-based training fundamentals, so it's easy to explain my reactive dog's behavior and triggers, and how best to address them. Paz also has a very calm but confident demeanor, so she is able to model calm behavior when my dog gets anxious or overly excited. Paz even took extra time to help my parents bandage a too-short toenail trim on my dog while I was away, which gave me peace of mind while I was traveling. In short, I highly recommend hiring Paz, and I frankly wish more dog sitters and dog walkers were up to her standards.
