“Marta is wonderful! Finn had so much fun at her house and yard. She made sure that he would be compatible with the other dogs that were there and she sent me updates and lots of pictures. Highly recommend!”

“Nick provided excellent care for Maverick while I had to attend an in-person work meeting for the day. He kept me updated throughout the day, which gave me so much peace of mind, and he sent the best pictures of Maverick enjoying himself. It was clear Maverick was well cared for, comfortable, and happy. I truly appreciate the attention and care Nick provided, especially with Maverick still being a puppy. I would highly recommend Nick to anyone looking for reliable and caring puppy-watching services!”

“Vera Elizabeth and Jasmine, Thank you for taking good care of Scout. He was happy when I took him to your home, and each morning he was eager to return. Jasmine, thank you for walking him and tending to his needs. If I need your service again, I will be in touch.”
About: I am an animal lover and have had various types of animal companions throughout my lifetime. Currently I am the Farm operator for our Urban farm. We raise ducks and chickens but they are always separate from visiting pups. Only within view for their entertainment and relaxation here on the farm. Yes we are located nearby in the city 🥰 I have a quiet understanding with most animals that I come across and enjoy their company. I have sat for many of my friends and family and am the go to person when someone needs to go out and about but cannot take their pet family members. I am currently focusing on dog sitting and have dedicate my time to being available to meet as many fur babies as I can in the next couple months. I have a room dedicated to pet care which has a greenhouse feel with plants but is fully enclosed in the home. It has a doggy door which leads out to our fully fenced back yard and large dog run with a insulated dog house inside. I also have a wireless camera on the areas which allow me to make sure that everyone is ok at all times. Please note that I no longer accept large breed dogs at this time aside from past clients. I am currently focusing my time on pet sitting. I am always also checking in via webcam on the pups wherever I am. Dog personalities are so amazing and fun to see. I have a double fenced yard to keep your pets safe. Lots of open dog crates and bedding for snoozing. A dog door that allows them some freedom and a large dedicated outdoor dog area for doggie playtime. They also always have access to fresh cool water.
About: I can do anything from walking to giving baths or from filling food and water to providing medicine 🐾 I’m okay with dogs of all ages and sizes from puppies to pitbulls and from the sick to the elderly 🙂 I can work remotely so it fits in quite easily. I live in Greenbelt, MD and my office is in DC (when I do decide to go into work), so really anywhere in the suburbs I’m willing to drive to! Any special instructions will be listened to and I will take great care of your pet(s). Hopefully things work out and you can be a regular-ish client! Please note: i board 3-4 dogs at a time. If you have a larger breed dog and I’m boarding multiple dogs, I might require them to where a bark collar that just buzzes if they get aggressive. Depending on their behavior. It helps with mitigation. I have never had any accidents happen under my watch and would like to keep it that way.
“Kuma looked like he had the best time with Irma! I definitely appreciate her taking care of him on short notice for a day trip I had planned. She sent updates of Kuma throughout the day. I would definitely recommend and revisit!”

I treat every dog as if they are part of my own family. My home is located on a quiet cul-de-sac, providing a peaceful environment with minimal traffic. I have a big, fully fenced backyard with locking gates and security cameras.

About: I’ve taken care of pets since college, I always help friends, relatives or neighbours to take care of their dogs and cats. These fluffy cuties naturally like me for the first sight, I don’t know why😂. I love walking outside, so it’s a dream job for me to walk your dog. I’m currently working part time WFH, so have plenty time to take care of your pet. I’m normally available at every weekend and weekday, very flexible, you can book or cancel on the same day. “Yosef is FANTASTIC! He took my request (desperate plea) to sit my pup in the final hour and I couldn’t be happier! Batman was mad at ME to leave and fell asleep as soon as we got in the car. I know he had a great time with Yosef and Law and we’re both looking forward to his next visit.”

Vera Elizabeth and Jasmine, Thank you for taking good care of Scout. He was happy when I took him to your home, and each morning he was eager to return. Jasmine, thank you for walking him and tending to his needs. If I need your service again, I will be in touch.
Hector was great with Scooby! He gave him plenty of playtime and Scooby seemed to get along really well with Maui. He also sent lots of pictures and updates which we really appreciated. Scooby looked happy and comfortable the whole time. We will definitely be using Hector again!

Sid had such a great time at Ms. Yemi’s for day care! He’s an anxious pup, but she quickly made him feel at ease. She sent lots of photos and updates throughout the day, which was such a relief since we were traveling. She genuinely loves pets, and I felt like she gave our guy so much attention.

Crystal was super accommodating, letting me book out Christmas Day just a few days in advance. She was so thorough, from the initial Zoom interview questions to sending pics and updates periodically during my dog’s stay. I felt 100% confidence that all his needs would be met. Highly recommended this sitter!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
