“Natasha was a good communicator and sent pictures of our girl while we were away! She took our golden on walks and played with her. She also was a huge help to us by picking up and dropping off our golden when we had early/late flight times. She was a huge help and we felt great about leaving our Honey girl with Natasha!”

“Excellent!! These are the NICEST people to take care of my dog!!! I will always check with them first! Polite, considerate, accommodating, reliable and professional.”

“John was an amazing sitter who kept us updated multiple times a day with pictures and updates, even when we couldn’t be as responsive. He offered Teddy healthy treats on the regular and treated him like his own. Five stars! We will definitely be reaching out to him again for future sitting needs.”

“Megan takes such good care of Sophie! Sophie is on more meds now that she’s older and Megan is so good about asking any questions and keeping up with the medication chart. We were unable to fly home after the Caribbean air space was shut down and Megan kept Sophie even longer until we returned. We appreciated it so much. We will definitely book with Megan again!”

About: I’ve owned multiple disabled dogs and can care for them. I’m also experienced in giving medicine to animals that may need it. grew up around a lot of different animals and I love spending time with new animals and seeing all the different dog and cat breeds. 😁 I stay at home and my schedule is very flexible, so the fur babies will get plenty of attention and love! They will always have me with them for some company and play time. I can take care of pets in any way that their pet owner would like. I don’t have many rules and would just like for the fur babies to be comfortable in the new environment!
“We couldn't be happier with the care provided during our overnight stay! From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing our dog was in such good hands. Communication was excellent, with regular updates and photos that gave us peace of mind while we were away. Our dog was happy, well-cared for, and clearly received lots of attention and affection. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable sitter!”

“Jordan is Fiona’s best sitter so far. She is very communicative and sends lots of cute photos and updates, I didn't even have to ask. I enjoyed my trip to Istanbul knowing Fiona was in safe hands. Also loved seeing Fiona around her family and other dogs. ❤️”

“Martha was fantastic! This was my first time leaving my dogs over night and Martha made me feel at ease that they were having a great time. She sent me regular photos and videos and got back to me quickly every time I reached out. My dogs were at ease and happy to see me when I got there, but I could tell they felt at home with her and her husband!! Thank you so much.”

“Brian clearly treated our beagle very well! He gave her plenty of exercise (which she needs), and kept us appraised on how she was doing. A very good caregiver, all in all!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats for many years and have experience pet sitting for multiple families, including drop-in visits and overnight care. I’ve cared for cats regularly over several years, watched dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals of all kinds. I also volunteer through Doggy Day Out at the shelter, where I help walk and socialize dogs, and I grew up with a family dog, so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I enjoy walks, playtime, cuddles, and making sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. I have experience incorporating caregiving and pet care into my daily routine and enjoy creating consistent schedules for feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship. I am organized, dependable, and make it a priority to ensure pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. My schedule allows me to provide regular walks, check-ins, enrichment, and quality time, and I always work to follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible to help them feel at home. I spend a lot of time at home and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide plenty of attention, companionship, and consistency throughout the week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their normal routines as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and reduce stress. I make sure pets have fresh water, are fed on schedule, and receive plenty of attention, enrichment, playtime, and companionship. I prioritize safety by keeping doors and outdoor areas secure, being attentive during walks and potty breaks, and cleaning litter boxes as needed. “Accommodated me on short notice. Nathan has strong attentiveness. Inquired about my preferences and if I had specific requests like wanting photos / my pups schedule in order to provide optimal care to him during their time together.”

About: We came across the Cavapoo breed as our loving Rottweiler was on his journey to his “better place”. We chose the Cavapoo breed as our furry rainbow puppy to help us all with the tough loss. Fast fwd 5 years, and WOW, still can’t believe the journey that was created for us. Dog breeding, training, boarding and grooming just the way I would want my pups taken care of…in a home. Our setup is ready for all stages of dogs and of course, personalities. This is a small family business and we make pet care fit seamlessly into our lives. We’re a party of 4 and all hands are always on deck. 4:00 am wake up call during the week and 6:00 am on weekends. Caring for pets in our home can consist of taking your pets normal routine that’s already established and following it. Help keep your animal on a schedule of food timing to crate or bedroom boarding. We live in a neighborhood with a 6 foot privacy fenced in back yard. A 3,000 gallon Koi pond surrounded by 800 square feet of deck. Nice plush outdoor furniture for the dogs to lounge next to the pond after a drink. We have also built a 200 square foot doggie palace on our property. Full electricity with heating/air and additional ceiling fan. Great for rainy days or dogs who are lone rangers and/or feisty.

Kristin and Daniel took wonderful care of our dog while we were away. I loved the fact that she has a fenced yard and takes the dogs for a walk when weather permits. She sent us regular updates and pictures, which we really appreciated. We were able to relax on our vacation knowing our dog was in good hands!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
