“Kirsten was amazing! She offered a meet and greet before my dog’s boarding. A very sweet person. And I was able to tell my dog would be in great hands. Awesome communication and I received plenty of updates including pictures and videos. I have an Aussie, and he has a lot of energy and Kirsten matches it perfectly.”

“She was great! Kathryn was incredibly friendly and sent lots of pictures and updates about our dog while she was staying with her. I also very much appreciated that we set up an initial meeting with myself, my dog and Kathryn to make sure it was a good fit for everyone. We will definitely being using her services again! ?”

“Went well, my pup seems happy and well taken care of. A little hard to communicate, but they were flexible with my pickup and drop off times. They took him to the dog park and on multiple walks.”

“Ashely takes such good care of our puppy, and we all know pups can be a handful!! Birdie always comes back in as good of condition or better when we pick her up. It’s easy to see that Ashley pays special care and attention to the animals she sits.”

“Clarissa took great care of our dog while we were gone for a week. She gave us plenty of updates and photos along the way and we could tell that our dog was cozy and comfortable there. We’ve used her several times as our pet sitter and will continue to do so. She’s great!”

“We went out of town for a week leaving our one year old Bulldog with Nef. He came to meet our dog and even accommodated transportation. My dog is very picky on who she likes however it was love from first sight. This was the first time we had to board our dog and now we have our go to person for life. Thanks Nef for the outstanding service!”

“Glenn provided regular communications and pictures of our two fur babies during a 3-night, home-sitting job for which we retained services. We very much appreciated his attention to detail, and the care he gave our dogs, and look forward to using his services again in the future.”

“Winnie was great watching my dog while I was out of town. He came home happy and relaxed. She sent pictures and was very communicative and flexible with pick up and drop off. The whole process was really easy and stress-free. Thank you so much.”

“This was an extended stay with Laura with my older girl as well as my spunky young boy. They absolutely adore her and she's so great at communicating and giving updates. She really made it easy being away for the first time in a year. She also was super responsive when I gave her some updates from the vet and super flexible with pickup and drop off time. I'm really glad we connected and my fur pups have a home away from home.”

“Andrew made our Bear feel welcome right away by playing with him and introducing him to his small dog, Lucky Bear. He had lots of room to play inside and was given regular walks. Andrew sent us pictures throughout Bear’s visit and our boy looked very happy. I appreciate Andrew’s quick and thoughtful responses to my text messages. We’d definitely use him again for watching Bear.”

“I can’t explain how much of a relief it was to find Allison before a long trip out of state! I was nervous about sending our 2 dogs to someone new, but Allison went above and beyond for everything. We did a meet and greet at her house and she took detailed notes of any info I gave her. She sent daily pictures & sometimes video updates of our boys playing and snuggling with her, her husband and their dog, and taking them to the dog park. When we got home later than expected they were super kind and understanding. Our dogs clearly had a BLAST and came home very happy and healthy! I’m so happy to have doggie sitter friends nearby that I trust now!!”

“Jason and Brooke were great! They kept me up to date with Rupp and sent pictures. Rupp loved hanging out with their daughter and sleeping with her at night. We will definitely use their services again!”
“Fantastic as always. Hardy comes home worn out every time lol and when I drop him off he doesn’t even tell me bye, just runs straight in to start playing. This is how I know he loves coming over :) Thanks for always taking such good care of my baby!”

“Martha was fantastic! This was my first time leaving my dogs over night and Martha made me feel at ease that they were having a great time. She sent me regular photos and videos and got back to me quickly every time I reached out. My dogs were at ease and happy to see me when I got there, but I could tell they felt at home with her and her husband!! Thank you so much.”

“Ann was great with my little dog. She was easy to communicate with and answered my questions quickly. I was surprised to see Ann had 2 large dogs of her own. That’s on me, I should have asked if she had large dogs. I got really nervous about leaving Scruffy because his back has been injured a couple of times by larger dogs. Ann was very reassuring and took good care of Scruffy. She also sent lots of photos to help easy my mind. I will be using Ann again.”

“Shaine and her family are the absolute best! Our big guy was anxious and very curious. They loved on him like family! They were very flexible with our boarding needs. When I took Bear back for his second night, he was actually smiling and wanted to get out at their house. That absolutely warmed my heart. I definitely look forward to utilizing their services again. You will not be disappointed if you leave your fur baby with them!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
