“Dani is amazing! She is one of my favorite sitters! She always looks after my dog and home with the utmost care. She sends detailed daily updates with multiple pictures. I never worry about going away when Dani is taking care of my furbaby.”

“Destiny was wonderful. She watched all 5 of our animals. 1 cat, 2 senior Chihuahuas and 2 puppies. That is not an easy task. Upon returning home I could tell they were all well taken care of. The house was clean (which isn't easy with 2 puppies) and she even left music in for them when she left. A kind soul that I will absolutely trust my animals with again.”

“Cayla was awesome! Our plans shifted a little bit as we were navigating travel with our little one, and she was very accommodating. I could tell our pup was happy and well take care of. Our house was exactly how we left it when we returned- so helpful!”

“Sydnee was an absolute shining star of a sitter. She took fantastic care of my big boy Clyde (130 lbs, Great Pyr), and was very prompt and responsive to all messages. My house was well taken care of as well. I really appreciate how detailed her messages were and how her updates included lots of pictures from different points of the day. I really felt that she took it to heart to stay close to Clyde and give him the companionship and support he needed. I would 100% recommend her to anyone in need of dog/house sitting, and especially those who need a person who can handle a big breed.”

“Took amazing care of our 3 dogs, cat, and chickens! Communicates very well, sent pictures every day and kept us updated! House was spotless and the animals all seemed to love her. Will be using her again”

“Amelia is the best around she is very attentive Great with my dogs. I went to a baseball tournament in Portland and my fridge broke she moved all the freezer items into the garage freezer for me and helped my friends who came to get the condiments out she is so great! Very responsive and I have already booked with her twice!”

“Chelsea cared for my small senior female dog over a holiday weekend. Unfortunately my dog was scared but Chelsea didn’t stop thinking of ways to get her comfortable as well as communicating with me frequently.”

“Alivia did an amazing job with my reactive, 60 lb Old English Sheepdog. Willa took to her immediately, which is rare and means she has the BEST vibes. She stayed with Willa in our apartment while I was out of state, gave regular updates, wasn’t afraid to ask questions, and I arrived home to a happy, healthy sheepdog and a clean apartment.”

“Mahalia was the perfect sitter. She went above and beyond to take care of our pets and we couldn’t be anymore grateful. She was very communicative and understanding about the needs of our pets and we loved having her. I would trust her with your babies any day of the week :)”

“Olivia was did a wonderful job taking care of my 11 year old dog. They went out for regular daily walks and she even kept me updated with pictures. My house was clean when I returned and the flowers/garden had been watered regularly in my absence. I would not hesitate to book Olivia again for dog and house sitting.”

“I was very pleased with Rachel’s dog sitting services! My dog bonded with her. She sent the occaissional pic, establishing confidence. I will certainly schedule with Rachel again. I strongly recommend!”

“Caralisa dealt with senior dog meds and walks with no issues. She updated me on how things were going, and did not leave a messy house. I would definitely use her again!”

“I'm very happy with Maggie who stayed at my home with two dogs and a cat for 3 days, 2 nights. She's obviously an animal lover and they all like her. My home looked great on my return and all the pets were happy. I am using Maggie again in the near future and am comfortable recommending her for overnight stays.”

About: Im a lifelong dog lover with four dogs of my own. Active, reliable, flexible, and experienced with puppies. I’ll treat your pup like family. I work for myself, giving me a flexible schedule and plenty of free time to provide your dog with attention, walks, playtime, potty breaks and companionship. I’m unable to host other dogs in my home because I have four dogs of my own, but I’m happy to provide care through walks, drop-ins, and house sitting.
“Llewyn was amazing! I have a high anxiety dog who is always getting in trouble and Llewyn made my travels so relaxing. She had everything handled. I highly recommend.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fir Grove
We had Rachel sit with our dog for the night. Our dog loved her. I always have some anxiety when I leave our Pom. Rachel sent me lots of pics which was very comforting knowing that our dog was happy and enjoying her time with Rachel. We will definitely be having her stay with our dog again. We can vacation knowing that the dog and house are in good hands with Rachel.
Bianca was great & we highly recommend! After our trusted dog sitter graduated, we were on the lookout for someone new who could be our go-to and we hope Bianca is just that. Her communication was excellent, she was so sweet to our pup, and sent pictures throughout. We will absolutely hire Bianca again for our pups overnight needs.

Julia is a fantastic sitter! This is the second time I’ve worked with her but this was the first time she’s stayed overnight and it was a holiday! She’s so reliable, cares about your dogs and gives good updates and lots of pictures! She’s also very good at giving meds to a sometimes difficult dog and when my dog got an upset stomach, she communicated with me right away. I felt very comfortable leaving my babies with her!! We will definitely be working with Julia again!

We (and our cats) loved Felix! This was our first time using rover and our first time being away from our pets for a week but Felix helped ease any anxiousness. They sent us daily photo updates about our cats and provided us with updates on how they were reacting to having someone new in the house. When our toilet decided to act up Felix provided above and beyond service with patching it up until we got home. Our home was clean and our cats were cared for. Thanks again Felix!

Had a great experience and all my animals (3 cats and 2 dogs) were well taken care of! My cat who usually needs time to love people was snuggling her within a couple of hours (to give uou an idea how good she is with animals). I will happily request and ideally only use Mathison in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fir Grove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fir Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fir Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fir Grove. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
